QMS Explosion in Kansas City   Message List

Hey Folks,

I saw a tremendous show in Kansas City last night. Jefferson Starship
and a reformed Quicksilver played, fronted by original members Gary
Duncan and David Frieberg. Joining them on stage were Prairie Prince
of Jefferson Starship and the Tubes, perhaps the best drummer alive,
Chris Smith in keys, also of the JS and David's wife Linda Imperial.
They did play several of Gary's more well known compositions from the
1990's era, (very nicely by the way), but the real deal was to Hear
Mona, What About Me, Who Do You Love and Edward the Mad Shirt Grinder
live. It was a powerful, hard rocking performance. Gary was on and in
great spirits to boot. I was pleased that I was able to meet him
afters and thank him for all of that music.

BTW, the Jefferson Starship show after QMS was the best perfromance by
this band in a year!!!! A very hot night in KC

Get to see this band (Bobby Vega will join them on bass) this week if
you are anywhere near Philly of the NY area. I have a feeling this
will be a teporary arrangement. I would love to believe otherwise,
but you know the history.

Here are the dates.

Thurs August 10 - Sellersville, PASellersville Theater
Friday, August 11 - BB Kings Blues Club, NYC
w/ Jefferson Starship, Marty Balin/Slick Aguilar Duo and Peter Kaukonen
Saturday August 12 - BB Kings Blues Club, NYC, same line-up
Sunday August 13 - Patchogue, NY (long Island)/ Patchogue Theater same
line-up
Sunday August 20- Sweetwater Saloon, MIll Valley CA
Saturday October 7, Pittsburg CA, Creative Arts Building with Jeff
Starship

BTW,for California fans, the Sweetwater Saloon is very small, call for
tix now if you want to go and get there early. (415) 388-2820

BB Kings will be the really BIg SHOWS. Get thee there!
