hey yall, well I've made an abrupt about-turn on policy and taken a
wack-load of mp3s off the net. Yep, Mr Murdoch phoned me this mornin'
and he insisted that I 'reassigned' my 'content' and that it was in
'my best interests' to do so. So after a dirty fat pay-off I took them
down.
Sorry. Just pullin ya leg. I just thought, jeez, y'know, I've had mp3s
up now for about 5 straight years -if people haven't got a bit of
Crude on their hard-drives by now well thats just their bad luck. So
i'm hoping i get a bit more sales action..or interest, at least..it's
not like i haven't been generous - I totally went wild with posting
music to the web - I over did it big time - at one point the
mp3.com.au page had 4 hours worth of content on it.In all I've
uploaded about 6 albmus worth of free stuff since 2000. So now, I
simply wish to correctly value my work.
The home base for all things crude now is http://www.crude.co.nz, I
own it, not some other firm.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for free music, I'm just taking a well
earned break. Who here has downloaded my work? Who has what? What do
people think of this plan? Already theres a sorta classy sheen
emanating from my site - its seems more exclusive or important or
something. You don't see Corpus Hermiticum giving shit away do ya,
people still buy it.
There's so much 'psychology' to consumerism. It seems if you sell
stuff cheap, they all see the product as 'cheap'. Stupid, I know.
Anyway, thought I'd mention it to you guys. My supporters. I thank you
all, each one of you.
Until next post, mat middleton , saturday afternnon, freshly baked
home-made bread on the table, strange nor-westerly winds, crude in the
background, cheap laudenum dribbling down my chin.....
