The CanadaWestHarplist group grew out of BCHarpsOnline. This is to satisfy an outstanding need and desire for more communication amongst the Western Canadian Harping community. The old group name BC Harps Online ceased on Feb 1, 2008.

Amongst our group members we call ourselves informally the " Westlist " for ease of usage. Yahoo groups knows us formally as the Canada West Harplist.

We welcome all harpists, harp business owners, soon-to-be harpists, harp builders and makers. Just keep it harp-related is all we ask.

This is a place to talk about harps, harpists, concerts, CDs, videos, and just about anything you are able to think of to do with the harp, harp music, harp playing and the harping business in general.

While there are international harpist groups, we are a uniquely Western Canadian-based internet forum. We do have list members from other locales however, and we welcome other "harpers" to join us from outside of our constituency of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Harp related businesses cannot be members but their owners/employees may join our group as individual members. The individual business related members mandate is to respond as an individual rather than as a business. Their posts about their business news are welcome but must be both succinct and non-repetitive.

Flaming and abusive language will not be tolerated. Politics and organised religion for discussion outside of a musician's context is discouraged. We have a strict spammer control policy and actively discourage overt solicitations for charity of any kind.
