The Ancient Harmonious Society of Woodshedders, Inc. (AHSOW) is
pleased to announce that these seven fine ear-singers joined AHSOW at the
Cardinal District's Fall Convention in Louisville, KY:
Name Hometown Chapter
~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
*Steve Bogaerts Bloomington, IN Terre Haute, IN
*Paul Ellison Terre Haute, IN Terre Haute, IN
Al Geis Batesville, IN Greensburg, IN
Francis Geis Greensburg, IN Greensburg, IN
*Kevin Hughes Terre Haute, IN Terre Haute, IN
Dave Landes Terre Haute, IN Terre Haute, IN
Warren Weitkamp Vincennes, IN Terre Haute, IN
* = qualified on all three harmony parts + "woodshed" melody. (Note: Some
men may not possess Tenor or Bass vocal range, but they are outstanding
woodshedders on the voice-parts within their range.)
Please congratulate all of these gentlemen on their abilities to
harmonize to melodies by ear without referring to written or familiar
arrangements. (These accomplishments merit mention in chapter and District
newsletters, too!)
The Cardinal District's welcoming support of AHSOW sets a new standard
for all other Districts. AHSOW is grateful to convention chairman Ken
Buckner and absolutely everyone else in the Cardinal District's
administration.
AHSOW's youngest member, 11-year-old Patrick McAlexander, ably helped
qualify new members and also woodshedded recreationally.
Jeremy Conover, AHSOW's District Educator & Certifier in Cardinal,
directed the Terre Haute chapter's Banks of the Wabash chorus to the
District championship. We will see Terre Haute at the Indianapolis
International.
Your next chance to indulge in authentic woodshedding could well be at
your District convention. After that, expect another opportunity at the
Sacramento Mid-Winter. May you ear-sing with highest quality, with
abandon, and until the Tenors drop in their tracks!
