AHSOW remains "AH, SO RELEVANT"!
The Ancient Harmonious Society of Woodshedders (AHSOW) cordially
invites all Cardinal District Barbershoppers who will be attending the
upcoming BHS International Convention in Indianapolis to visit the AHSOW
room for some great ear-singing experiences.
You'll find our woodshedding haven in the "Senate 1" Room in the
headquarters Westin. Hours on Monday will be as staffing levels permit.
Hours from Tuesday on will be continuous except during AHSOW meetings, the
quartet quarterfinals/semifinals/finals, and the chorus finals. As O.C.
Cash desired, we shall woodshed "until the Tenors drop in their tracks."
The "Senate 1" room is on the Westin's second floor, conveniently near
the escalators and the bridge to the Convention Center.
Singing, service and support will be available to you if you are:
- as yet unexposed to woodshedding, & you wish to be introduced to the art;
- a newer or infrequent woodshedder wishing to practice & refine your skills;
- someone who loves to sing/learn/harmonize to largely unfamiliar melodies;
- wishing to learn how singing "woodshed" Lead helps you sing "performance"
Lead;
- a chapter officer looking for beneficial variety in your weekly programs;
- a chorus director looking for ways to keep your troops involved &
"belonging";
- an accomplished woodshedder seeking the "ultimate" quartetting experience;
- a current AHSOW member wishing to qualify on an additional harmony-part;
- a prospective AHSOW member wishing to apply your skills toward an audition;
- wishing to expand the number of singers with whom you can always later
interact;
- wishing to expand the repertoire that you can sing with others;
- a Barbershopper who prefers to be active, rather than passive, in this hobby;
- a current AHSOW member wishing to greet and harmonize with some good pals;
- just plumb excited about "discovering" harmony & ringing chords!
By participating in authentic woodshedding and indulging in the beauty
of the great old songs that lofted Barbershop to its heights of today, you
continue the links between our past and our present. You may also discover
talents in yourself that you may not have realized. You can take these
songs and talents back home for the benefit of our Society and, indeed,
everyone's life that you can touch through this special approach to
Barbershopping.
Again, you can find all this in the "Senate 1" Room in the Westin Hotel.
AHSOW's educators, officers, certifiers, and members will be pleased
to welcome you in Indianapolis. Feel free to tell us which aspects of
woodshedding most interest you -- and be sure to arrive ready to sing by
ear!
