11-13 July, 2008 at Indiana Wesley University, Marion, Indiana
It's bigger, and better than last year! You asked for it, and you
got it! More classes, more variety, and more fun. Yet, despite the
recent rise in fuel costs and economic worries, we are able to bring
all of this to you at the same rates as 2007! You are absolutely
correct! We are again offering our "Just for you special", at
those "Register 4 and only pay for 3" rates! But that's not all!
We didn't mention our new and exciting giveaway! Maybe we should
look at all of this in more detail…….
More classes – In 2007 we only had 6 classes. In 2008 you have 14 to
chose from! We know you are really impressed with our growth, but
please keep reading…………
More variety – We've added 5 new classes just to help you improve
your vocal techniques. But wait, there's even more!
Have you always wanted to learn how to use
that great music program
Finale? Well this year we have a class that can do just that for
you. Then again, maybe you always wanted to try your hand at
arranging? If so, we suggest you attend Jon Nicholas's class on
Beginning Arranging. Do you know a barbershopper today who doesn't
like to sing tags? You do? Then you must bring him to the Tag
Singing class being taught by the Cardinal District's own "tag
masters", Aaron Hughes and Garry Texiara. There are many more
classes to select, and we strongly suggest that you take a look at
the Class Descriptions link on the District website to find the ones
that are right for you!
More fun – You will begin your CCC experience with a great Friday
night show featuring the Harmony Explosion Chorus, The Edge, and
wait, there is even more! You will also be entertained by a "Mystery
Quartet". That's right, a Mystery Quartet!!! But we can't let the
secret
out. You have to be there in order to find who they are!
Then immediately after the show, we will gather in the Student Center
to continue registration for the late arrivals, and we'll even mix in
some socializing and tag singing. After that, you will finish out
the evening by treating yourself to a quiet night of restful sleep in
those luxurious accommodations that we have reserved just for you in
Reed Hall!
On Saturday, it only gets better! 3 great meals in IWU's "4 star
restaurant", excellent classes, quartet coaching, chorus coaching,
and…. well, there's just too much to list here! Why not take a look
at the Class Schedule link and read all about it? Then wrap up the
day by attending a "Meet the Champs" show featuring all of the
quartets who received coaching, the Fort Wayne chorus, and
the "Mystery Quartet". Oh, did we forget to mention that there will
be a pizza party going on during the
show? Followed by a second,
that's right, a second night of restful sleep in those luxurious
accommodations we provide for you in Reed Hall! I'm telling you,
this Cardinal Chord College is the best thing that's come along since
canned beer, crunchy peanut butter, or even Oxy-Clean!
Sunday, you will enjoy a gourmet breakfast, followed by a two hour
class, a general session, and you should be on your way home no later
than 11:30 AM.
Register 4 and pay for 3 – This seemed to cause some confusion last
year so let's see if we can explain….. Normally, if 4 people (some
might call that a quartet) registered at the individual rate of $175,
it would cost them a total of $700 to avail themselves of this
wonderful opportunity. But, because you are special to us, we can
offer the following: If a quartet, or 4 men from the same chorus
register together (they don't have to be in a quartet), they only
have to pay a total of $525 (or $131.25 each). That's a total
savings of $175!
In addition to our individual registration rate of $175 that includes
all that CCC has to offer, we are also pleased to offer a commuter
rate of $127. This includes shows, classes, and meals, but no
lodging.
Don't wait to take advantage of these outstanding pricing
opportunities! We are only offering these rates to the first 1000
men who register!
The giveaway – We're sure you have heard those old adages of "Beware
of strangers bearing gifts", or "If it sounds too good to be true, it
probably is". But in this case, we have to add one more….. "Trust
me"!
Here's what will happen if you do: We are giving away a scholarship
to the 2009 Harmony University! That's right, a scholarship that
pays your tuition and allows you attend the second best school
offered by the Society (CCC has to be #1).
The drawing will be held
Saturday night at the "Meet the Champs" show.
But wait…… here's the best part about this great opportunity! There
are no tests to take, no puzzles to solve, or even any shipping and
handling charges! In order to be eligible, all you have to do is
register to attend Cardinal Chord College! It's that easy, and hard
to imagine isn't it? Will your name be drawn? There's only one way
to find out…. Register for CCC!
More information - The valuable links on the District website
provide a lot of useful information, like registration forms, plus
several items like directions to IWU, a map, and schedules that can
be printed and brought with you to CCC. These links should answer
many of your questions. But if they don't, or we've overlooked
something, please feel free to contact the CCC registrar, Steve
Albert, at salbert@bluemarble. net or (812)-825-8989.
We'll see you at CCC 11-13 July!
