Calling
All Barbershoppers in the Cardinal District,
This
email is to inform you that the documentary “American Harmony”
will be airing at the Keystone Art Cinema in the mall at Keystone at the
Crossing on the north side of Indianapolis beginning on Friday June 5,
2009. The show runs through Thursday June 11, 2009. The show times
are 2:30, 5:00, 7:15 and 9:30 p.m. daily.
It is my hope to schedule a number of quartets to sing in
the lobby of the theater and possibly the common areas of the Mall for as many
performances as possible. Indianapolis has several quartets but we will
need a few more. If your quartet would be available to sing would you
please let me know as soon as possible? Obviously the weekend of the 5th,
6th and 7th are going to be the easiest spots to
fill. If your quartet would be available for the matinee or evening shows
during the week please contact me immediately. We are eager for the
best quartets in the district to represent us. The music team of the Indy
chapter will review all requests and provide you a response.
Ticket
prices are as follows:
Matinees
(anything starting before 6pm) - $6.50
Adults
- $9.50
Seniors
(62+) - $6.50 all the time
Kids
(11 & under) - $6.50 all the time
Tickets
are on sale now and may be purchased through the Indy chapter or directly from
the theater. Please let me know if you would like to purchase a block of
tickets.
Unfortunately
the company that has produced this wonderful film does not have much money to
be able to promote the film. If anyone reading this email has any ideas
about how we can get the word out without spending much money please contact me
immediately. I would love to see the theater packed for as many showings
as possible. I am hopeful that many people who have never been exposed to
barbershop will view the movie and discover the same thing that I have
discovered about this great hobby of ours.
I
would also appreciate it if the chorus managers could let me know how many from
your chapter are planning on making it to Indy to see the film. Thank you
for your response.
Hey there geltleman. The Indianapolis chapter is haveing their Annual show on
Saturday June 13th. There will be a 2:30 p.m. show and another show at 7:30
p.m. The reason I am posting this is CCS Needs you help. The show is called
live from the flamingo lounge. We thought that it would be cool and add some
touch if we som classic 1950's or 1960's hot rods, street rods, or rat rods. We
would be interested in a few. In return we would allow for some comp tickets
(2) for you to see the show. If you could pleases email me a icture of your car
and some contact infor so that we can get something taken care of. It would be
a great time and greatly appreciated. Thank You!!!

Jerry, I was going to put a VLQ together with Brigade members who were not in the quartet contest. However, I found that it is part of the chorus contest and not the quartet contest. I felt we had enough going on during the chorus contest and dropped it.

Gentlemen,
It is that time of the year again, when contestants must submit the CJ-20 forms to compete in the Spring Contest. All entries must be in the hands of the District’s C&J
Director, Aaron Dale by March 13, 2009. The competition is open to all Choruses and
Quartets. At this convention, the following competitions will be held:
Chorus Plateau competition (AAAA, AAA, AA, A champions will be chosen)
Quartet International Preliminary competition (qualifying quartets will continue on to compete at in July 2009 at the International Competition in Anaheim , CA )
District Senior Quartet competition (District senior quartet champ will be chosen)
Novice Quartet competition
Collegiate Quartet competition (sponsored by MBNA – the collegiate champs will go on to compete in Anaheim , CA in July at the International Collegiate competition)
NOTE: Contact Aaron directly regarding entry to the Collegiate contest.
We are including instructions to submit your Contest Entry Forms via the Internet. If you still have questions, please e-mail Aaron immediately and he will try to get answers for you. Please forward this information to your chapter secretary (if you are not the secretary) and to all registered quartets in your chapter. NOTE: If there is a new group that has registered under the Society's Aptify program, this process may not work, in which case contestants should email Aaron for instructions for manual entry. Also, if the Members Only site is inoperable, contestants may email him at aaronkdale@gmail. com
After entering Members Only, choose CJ-20 then Contest Entry.
Once there, follow directions as you navigate through the contest entry process. You will need to know the specifics of the music you will be singing to complete the forms. If you do not fully complete all of the information required regarding your music and the arrangement, etc. the Society will not forward your entry to C&J Director Aaron Dale and you will miss the contest.
If you have any trouble registering on the internet, you may also download the CJ-20 at the cardinal district website. Complete the form and mail a copy to:

I'm trying to get my quartet situated and we have had problems with Brian's renewal. I figured this would be easier/quicker, than checking with some of those guys.
Thanks Steve!

I believe it is 13 March.
Try calling Aaron Dale. You can find his # in Ebiz,

Summit City Chorus Announces New Meeting And Rehearsal Location
Fort Wayne — October 6 — The Summit City Chorus, Fort Wayne's premier
Barbershop men's group since 1944, announces that effective Monday,
November 3, 2008, their weekly Monday night meeting and chorus
rehearsal will be permanently held at Taylor Chapel United Methodist
Church, 10145 Maysville Road, on Fort Wayne's northeast side, at 7:00
p.m. The church has just completed the construction of a Family Life
Center, and is located adjacent to Discount Tire and Bob Evans
restaurant in the Chapel Ridge shopping center area.
"We are excited about our new rehearsal location", explains Al
Schumm, President of the chorus. "It is spacious, brightly lighted,
very conducive to singing, and has easy access because it is at
ground level."
Men of all ages are welcome and encouraged to be a guest any Monday
night.
Dear current and past members of the Thoroughbred Chorus,
Everything Old is New again!
Remember great rehearsals and fantastic shows? Remember singing tags until all hours? Remember the thrill of contest and the satisfaction of ringing a chord? Well, we're still doing all of that and more! On Saturday December 6, 2008 the Thoroughbreds will be celebrating their 60th Annual Show at Memorial Auditorium here in Louisville and we'd like you to be a part of that celebration. Actually, a very big part!
We're inviting everyone who has ever sung with us back to the stage for the day (and a couple of rehearsals too!). You can relive, rejoice and rejoin the Thoroughbreds in song for two not-soon-to-be-forgotten performances. Interested? Want to know more? Here's how to find out the rest of the story…
Please register, using the form on our web site at http://www.thoroughbredchorus.com/reunion.htm <http://www.thoroughbredchorus.com/reunion.htm> and join us on the Annual Show. You will also be able to download all the most recent information, including song selection, sheet music, learning CDs and rehearsal schedule as they become available. We will also be asking for all of your contact info. If you do not have access to the internet, please mail your contact information to: The Thoroughbred Chorus, C/O Eric Hunstiger, 10220 Grand Ave., Louisville, KY 40299. We will send you information as it becomes available.
We need you to help us make this an event not to be missed and never to be forgotten. So fly, drive, walk, crawl or do whatever you have to do, just get back here and sing a few one more time!
This is not an attempt to recruit you to join the chorus again; although we welcome anyone who is interested. We simply want to celebrate our 60th Annual Show.
Please pass this request to other Thoroughbreds you know so we can contact them and let them know about this great celebration of Thoroughbred heritage.
In Harmony,
Eric Hunstiger, President David Duncan, Director Don Schlader, Show committee Cochairman Mike Ehringer, Show committee Cochairman
Looking forward to attending the Cardinal District convention in October.
Is there any news as to whether there is a QCA breakfast or supper???
Was also wondering if anyone knows if there is a shuttle that runs from the airport to the headquarters hotel.
Miss all my Cardinal friends and hoping to sing with each and every one of you.
Gaylord
