February 25, 2005 (New York, NY) Bill Whelan's Riverdance, the
original Irish dance and music sensation, celebrates its tenth
anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, Decca Broadway will
release a tenth anniversary edition of the best-selling original cast
recording which includes one new song composed by Bill Whelan, and
stunning new arrangements of two songs from the original album. The
internationally acclaimed theatrical event will continue its extensive
U.S. tour with a special engagement at Radio City Music Hall, where
the show was first introduced to American audiences.

Riverdance is an international company of 70 singers, dancers and
musicians whose inspired performances have touched the hearts of
millions around the world. The show tells the story of Ireland's music
and dance heritage and how its evolution was influenced by other world
cultures. The music ranges from traditional Celtic rhythms with
melting fiddles to acapella choral arrangements and even dramatic
tribal drums and exotic guitars. When united, the varied musical
traditions weave a theatrical journey through time with immense
worldly appeal.

Composer Bill Whelan is acclaimed for his work in the theater, film
and television. His films include Some Mother's Son, Dancing At
Lughnasa starring Meryl Streep, and Lamb, which he co-wrote with Van
Morrison. His original Riverdance album is certified platinum and won
the Grammy® Award for Best New Show Album in 1997. Last seen in New
York five years ago during their 18-month Broadway premiere at the
Gershwin Theatre (Riverdance on Broadway), the ensemble presents a
theatrical event unlike any in the country today. To coincide with
Saint Patrick's Day festivities, Riverdance's tenth anniversary tour
highlight will be a one-week stint at Radio City Music Hall from March
10th-17th inclusive.
