The July issue of DownBeat should be out shortly with a photo of Charlie
Christian, Count Basie, Basie's road manager and his wife, Goodman, and
bandleader Sonny Burke on page 43.

As far as I know, this photo has not been published in its entirety since it
originally came out on DB's 15 Nov 1940 issue. I have a partial in a couple of
places on my website but not the whole picture.

I plan to add that photo to the "Photo Gallery" along with a dozen other rare CC
photos when I have the time to get my site fully functional again. One is a
studio photo that CC inscribed to 'Hershel' and family… (courtesy of guitarist
Bill Moss).

There's also a short 1953 reprint on page 23 about Barney Kessel and CC's sole
influence on him.
