The Mother of all Yard Sales!   Message List

Greetings, CCMS Members & Supporters!

The CCMS Fundraiser Yard/Bake Sale is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th. This is a great way to celebrate the Fall Season and help the CCMS make enough money to release the compilation CD.

• The hours for the sale will be 8AM-3PM and the sale will be at 6918 Heritage Place in Acworth, 30102. It is located just of Kellogg Creek Road, not too far from Bells Ferry Road. The house is small, but the yard is large and there is a side lot that is available and a pretty long driveway that we can line with tables and displays.

• We need volunteers throughout the day to assist with selling merchandise. If you have a retail background, we would love your help. You can work all day or just for 2-3 hours, whichever suits your schedule.  Please email SergeEnt@... and let me know what time you would like to help us out.

• We will setup at 7AM so we are ready to start selling at 8AM. We will not accept early birds; sales begin at 8AM. We will need volunteers to help with setup and breakdown as well.

• We also need volunteers to help spread the word around the internet and to distribute physical flyers around Cherokee County. We will create a jpeg flyer and also ask that you please post our information on your myspace pages, and internet garage/yard sale web sites. The jpeg will be printable so you can create your own flyers and put them in strategic places in your neighborhood and workplace. Keep in mind that we could potentially have 15 or more families involved in this sale! So there will be plenty of items to choose from. And with the economy the way it is right now, a yard sale is good place to find treasures at a bargain. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

• We will have live entertainment during the sale for singer/songwriters and you can sell your CDs and other merch, too. Please contact me if you would like to perform for an hour or so. We will start the entertainment around 11AM. Bob Patterson will provide the PA for us. (Thanks, Bob!)

• Items for the yard sale can be dropped off at 6918 Heritage Place the week of October 20th - late afternoon or evening hours. Please email me at SergeEnt@... to schedule a time to drop off your items. You may donate your items to the CCMS; or you may place them on consignment in the yard sale and donate 10% (or more - whatever you designate) of the selling price to the CCMS. Items can be anything from books to clothes (baby clothes sell very well) to furniture to musical equipment to computer equipment, etc.. Anything that is in good condition. Items that are donated do not need to be tagged
but any consignment items you drop off must be tagged with the selling price and your 3 initials on the same tag with the selling price. When you drop off your items, we will ask you to sign a release statement for us. If you prefer, please bring a list of your items and we will attach it to the release form. Please indicate on your list if the prices on the priced items are fixed or if we can barter.

• If any of you would like to bake and donate baked goods (cookies, candies, bars, pies, cakes. etc.), we can also sell these at the sale. Each item must be individually wrapped as a whole or in individual servings and priced with your initials. We will have hot cider, coffee and water available as well. Again, if you prefer to donate the items, great! If you want to make some money, then all we ask is that you donate 10% to the CCMS, and we will pay you the difference for any of the baked goods we sell.

• Any items you consign for the yard sale that are not sold must be picked up the week of October 27th and must be off the premises before October 31st or they will be taken and donated to a charity such as The Cherokee County Humane Society or Good Will; OR they will be disposed of as the board members see fit. Musical equipment may be donated to a music charity.

• Restrooms for the yard sale will only be available for CCMS members who volunteer to help. Customers and others must use the gas station down the street (this is for everyone's protection).

• If you wish to participate in the yard sale, we encourage you to please tell your friends about it and ask them to support us. All monies we earn from this will go toward the CCMS compilation CD (after expenses are deducted). We plan to advertise this event probably in the Cherokee Tribune. We will also strategically place yard sale signs nearby. Any money leftover will go toward pursuing our non-profit status. We need the fee to pay the government and also attorneys' fees to help us create it.

• Rain date: Sunday, October 26th.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for all your help!

Best regards,
