Voting is vital: a letter from Mark Weber   Message List

A break from the usual Christian music news...

Hello from Mark Weber.

I am not a political person, but I do vote. And I heard some advice recently that made a lot of sense: don't vote for any incumbents. You see, I live in Western New York, which has many great people, but my local and state government (Erie County/New York State) has been doing a poor job during much of the last century, to the point where most of my friends have moved away from Upstate NY because better opportunities were elsewhere. So I just might go into the voting booth this November and vote for every non-incumbent, because the leaders in control of New York State for the past few years have not made my area a better place to live, and by voting, I can register my displeasure with those in office, and if enough people are thinking what I'm thinking, then maybe my neck of the woods will get some new people in office with new ideas that could lead to a better future for me and the people I love who are still here in Upstate NY. I don't know what your situation is like-- the street where you live, the job you may or may not have, your living situation, your financial situation-- but I do know that if you're an American reading this, it's your right and your duty to vote. Your voice does indeed matter.

Have you registered to vote yet? If you don't register to vote by early October, you can't vote in this year's national election on Tuesday, November 7th.

Register to vote before it's too late. You can register right now. Just go to www.myspace.com/registertovote
