Wow, thank you for passing along that story. I really need to listen to
the Loving Country album again sometime before the weekend is up. I
have the original cover version, then the newer cover version as well
(not that I am a completest or anything hehe.)

Written by Mark Rogers, September 1, 1999:

I get such a kick out of Cindy Scott's "Run Away Love" track (from the
preview cassette). After the sassy singer gives her lover a pair of
running
shoes and tells him to "get some gone," she proudly announces she's
"gonna
go dancin'." Well, Cindy/Sundray doesn't have to go very far to go
"dancin'." All the Lady has to do is play her own tracks.

CASE IN POINT: Last night, my son went to his first school dance. After
the dance, he came home and found me in the master bedroom at the
computer.
His mother followed him into the room--she wanted to hear all about the
dance, too. We parents asked the usual questions: Did you have fun? Did
you dance with anyone?

Our son told us that he had had a lot of fun and that, yes, he had
danced
with a lot of girls--but with one cute girl in particular. "I just
grabbed
her hips and she grabbed my neck and we went around in a circle," he
reported.

"You grabbed her hips?!" I questioned. (I had visions of some little
girl's
angry father phoning me.)

"You grabbed her hips?!" echoed my wife. "Show us."

"I don't have any music," our son pointed out. I reached over and hit
the
play button on the tape deck--where the Cindy Scott preview cassette has
become the chief resident. "Surrender" came booming out of the speakers.

My son grabbed his mother's hips and showed us the latest dance--pretty
tame
really. However, within seconds, here came my two younger sons ready to
party. They jumped up on the bed and bounced and danced and laughed to
the
music. Next, in came the family hound barking demands for someone to
pick
her up so she could join the family's big dance.

And so, you see, Cindy doesn't have to go too far to go "dancin." All
she
has to do is play her own tunes and a party will follow.

Hi all!

I just found this video clip on YouTube, thanks to my good friend Chris
Williams. The clip was posted to YouTube last year in memory of Sundray's
father, Ira Tucker.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1x6DH6hdDw

Sundray appears at the end of the clip and if you watch very carefully you might
notice that Vera Carey is also featured.

This is a wonderful song and I can't stop playing it. Very joyous and a real
treat to watch.

Enjoy!

Thanks Detroitnite!

Yes, I am taking meticulous care with the arrangements and that's the main
reason why the release date is going to be sometime next year. As for the
Motorcity recordings, my favourite track by Jean, Scherrie & Lynda was "Hit &
Miss" - a title which in my opinion summed up the whole Motorcity project.....
lol

I don't have it out at the moment so I can't remember who the third singer

Dave

That's the best news I've had in a while. Patrick's dad passed on last
week, and my sister gets married this Saturday, so it's been chaos
around my flat :( but had a smile on my face when reading about some
more music from Cindy Scott :-)

The name of the group at the time of the Motor City Recordings was Jean,
Scherrie & Lynda Formerly of The Supremes.

And, it is definitely JSL singing with the Originals on Popular Demand.

This was pre-Sundray. Though Sundray did occasionally sing background vocals
for the FLOS during the time Jean was in the group.

Take good care - we all look forward to the new recordings!

Good to know, David, that the new recordings and mixes will be available to
us and I can't wait but I agree that it is better to take your time to get
them "as perfect" as you can

Two new Cindy Scott mixes were completed last friday at John Purser's studio in
Birmingham, England - that's where the first Loving Country album was recorded.
John was also the guy behind the majority of the FLOS recordings during the mid
90's. I have another studio session coming up for this friday and you can read
all about the latest news, as and when it happens, on the website at
http://www.drivingwheel.co.uk

This year promises to be a really exciting year for fans of Sundray's music and
personally speaking, I haven't felt so excited about a recording project since
we recorded The Loving Country all those years ago, way back in 1999.

I believe that Stop to Love is one of the songs with a shared lead between
Scherrie, Lynda & Sundray! You hear all three voices.

Belated Birthday wishes to Sundray! I've been away for a week in the Welsh
hills, without any Internet access hence the delay in reading the messages here.
I hope Sundray had a wonderful day.

Oh and I redid the YouTube clip a few weeks ago and it now has a new URL

Hello to all too...!

I have some exciting news I think... unless my eyes are playing
tricks on me, I do believe that In Love Maybe has arrived on iTunes!
I did a search on Cindy Scott this afternoon and low and behold it
was there! Thats not bad going when you consider it was only recorded
3 weeks ago. Can anyone here confirm this also?

David, I was really pleased to hear that both Cindy and yourself were
thrilled to see the new single of the CB Baby site. In fact I was
thrilled that you were thrilled... lol

Does anyone have this rare Sundray Tucker single released circ '82 on
Grace Notes Records. A good CD-R recording will do. Somebody out there
must have it. Or any unreleased material? Can buy or trade. Hva elots
of rarities of all the Supremes.
See Cindy's bio and discography at: http://www.soulonthe.net/bio.htm
Thanks, Mark.

Forgot to tell ya,

Sundray said she met Dolly Parton this weekend. It was at a gospel
award show and the Hummingbirds received an award.

She said Dolly was so nice and sweet too. She said she couldn't
believe how small Dolly Parton is. She has such a big personality
that you would never believe how small in stature she really is!

She said she took a pic with her as well - it will be posted here as
soon as we receive it!

Hello to all!

I just spoke to Cindy Scott on the telephone. I joked with her that
it has been so long since we've talked that when I looked at the
phone and saw area code 215 - I said to myself, "215, 215...I'm
drawing a blank..."

We went on-line together and she was thrilled to see "In Love Maybe"
on the CD Baby site!

And, Bruce, I read your message to her and she was thrilled to have
a fan all the way in Sydney! And to say a BIG HELLO From Cindy
Scott in the USA!

Take good care,

DAvid K.

hi Dave

just heard the clips and I think that the song is brilliant and just the
kind of music I love, the slower old-school R&B, more than dance music. I
love it, I love it, I love it! I will certainly buy the download and the
single when it is released in hard copy

hope you are well and all the best

Hi all!

Some news just in.... 'In Love Maybe' now has its own page at CD Baby,
where you can listen to a 30 second preview or download the single as a
high quality mp3.

http://cdbaby.com/cd/cindyscott4

And to celebrate, I'm going to download a copy for myself. So please
join me, take a listen and maybe add a review to the CD Baby page.

What did MOJO say about Diana and The Supremes and her
album "Surrender"? It is not all as rosey as we thought despite the
magazine's celebrating the Golden Age of Motown. Go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rosswilsonnationrenaissance if you want
the ranks of the other Supremes and Ross solo tracks that figure in
this list.

Thanks James, I will certainly have lots more news in the weeks to
come and I truly believe that 2009 will be a special year for Cindy
Scott. The new recording of 'In Love Maybe' sounds great and is a
definite improvement on the album version. Both versions will be
included on the single. My time in the studio (my first in ages) went
extremely well and without a single hitch. 24 hours later the master
CD was on a plane, making its long journey to the USA to be processed
for iTunes. I don't think I've worked this fast in ages! Anyway I
hope you enjoyed listening to the Loving Country CD's. Kind regards
Dave

Thank you for the heads up David! Oddly enough, I decided to put on The
Loving Country a little bit ago before I downloaded my emails. Probably put
on the Loving Country 2 this evening when back from doing the washing at the
laundromat.
