Hi All,
As promised, I would like to offer the EC - Manchester DVD to
the group. I already have 2 people with burners who will re-offer,
they are:
Bob Tasker - UK
Joe Singleton - UK
I'd like to get 1 more with a burner from the U.S., if not, I'll
open it up to the burnerless. Those who re-offer must pass along
the MASTER DISC back to the group.
Details:
Eric Clapton - Manchester, England - April 29, 2004 (Slunky Version)
Audience shot, PC authored menus, Quality B, would be better if the
taper didn't try to zoom in too close with the digital zoom.
Setlist:
Let it rain
Hoochie coochie man
Walk out in the rain
Bell bottom blues
I shot the sheriff
Milkcows calf blues
When you got a friend
They're red hot
Kind hearted woman blues
Got to get better in a little while
Have you ever loved a woman
Badge
Wonderful tonight
Layla
Cocaine
Encore:
Sunshine of your love (with Robert Randolph)
I got my mojo working (with Robert Randolph)
Thanks,
Jon
Howdy Swampers
I'm looking for a complete copy of the Feb 3, 1990 concert at the Royal Albert
Hall. I have lots to trade.

I'd like to second this. Trading shn/flac/md5 data disks is the way to
go.
How about doing .torrents? Any others with broadband connections?
Like a Gibson Les Paul (=Leffe) and a supermarket toy guitar (=Stella) .
Stella is a liquid one consumes when one is thirsty, Leffe -and especially
the Triple- is something to savour and enjoy like a fine wine . But be
careful ... it contains a lot more alcohol than a Stella :-)

OK guys
Lets see if we can get this show on the road. I have given a few comments
about the group etc so about time I gave something back. This is for Velvet
Skies - November 27th 2003 at Yokohama Arena in Japan. It is 1 disc of FLAC
files and artwork
This is initially a European vine and works slightly different than normal.
I have put a new table in the database area at
http://launch.groups.yahoo
com/group/ClaptonBoots/database?method=reportRows&tbl=1
If you want to join the vine please enter your details. You will also notice
I have included buddy fields this is so that burnerless members can go in
and add their details on the next available space. This will become clearer
once we get a few people signed up.
If you have any problems with the database or can suggest any way of
improving what i have started please let us know in the group.
The firs person that adds their details please e-mail me with your mailing
address.
Cheers - Joe

Also needed are trading guidelines...need that before we can identify
bad traders.

Yes that system seems to work well on a number of sites (STG, GD-Live and
Stone Pony) although ideally it needs someone to look after it and check
that things get updated but a great way of finding out bad traders.
Just on that note may be an idea for the group owner to have some guidelines
for how we deal with bad traders on the group.

I'm on a Dylan-list where we do have a rather busy activity on Dylan- and

Vines are started most of the times as flac- or shn-vines; audio happens.
The idea is as follows :
- in an existing database, a new entry is created by the person that starts
a new vine;
- everyone who wants to join in the vine can do so put putting her or his
name on the list
- the master-discs are passed along the list and everyone makes a copy for
himself and
sends the masters to the next in line;
- the last one in line keeps the discs available for new members that want
to join later.
The system works fine as long as everyone corporates, although it has to be
moderated.
We have a Europe-only group, just to avoid discs crossing the Atlantic too
many times. This might be a problem here but there could also be 2 separate
vines : one US, one rest of the world.
I'm only making a suggestion, other people might come up with better ideas
or stay with the known vine-type.
Anyway, I was able to grab The 1991-02-17 RAH remastered show this way,
right from the silvers and ripped the right way (if you know what I mean).
This is the Mid Valley "Play with fire remastered" SBD 6 (some say 6+ or 7)
and it comes as a 2 cd-shn set with artwork.
I could start this as a tree or a vine if there is any interest, but I'm not
interested right now in starting a classic vine.
Leo.

Well, you said you could provide a copy on VCD to 3 people who would
agree to copy for others.
I would definitely be willing to do that.

Well then, just for the americans, and completely off-topic, THE answer to
the question "What the heck is Leffe ?"
Leffe is the brand leader among Belgian abbey beers - a beer for the
connoisseur, which should be served cold at 5° C. Leffe Blond is a top
fermented ale which combines typical yeast characteristics with a fruity
flavour. It has a beautiful yellow-gold colour, a full body and a subtle,
aromatic flavour. A strong beer, it has an alcohol content of 6.6% vol.
Leffe Brown is dark brown in colour - a full-bodied beer with a typical nose
of dark malts and fruity flavours. It has an alcohol content of 6.5% vol.
The other members of the Leffe family are Leffe Triple, a fresh golden ale
with hints of lemon and vanilla (8.4% vol), and Leffe Radieuse, a yellow
brown ale with a strong fruity taste and a rich bouquet (8.2% vol).

Isn't that similar to the way vines were done over at sharingthegroove.org?

I'm on a Dylan-list where we do have a rather busy activity on Dylan- and
non-Dylan-vines.
Vines are started most of the times as flac- or shn-vines; audio happens.
The idea is as follows :
- in an existing database, a new entry is created by the person that starts
a new vine;
- everyone who wants to join in the vine can do so put putting her or his
name on the list
- the master-discs are passed along the list and everyone makes a copy for
himself and
sends the masters to the next in line;
Leo.

Who's doing good quality remasters these days? You all know what I
mean ... it's far easier to hurt than help with a lot of the audio
programs out there.
If someone can recommend a good candidate, I'd like to offer my
masters of Tampa June 14, 1975 and Hampton, Va. September 28, 1974,
both Reel -> DAT -> CD-R. Both are good quality SB but show their
age a bit, but I think can really come to life and shine again with a
good thorough tweaking. I also have two excellent Roy Buchanan SB
from the same souce (November 24, 1974 and May 8, 1973) that could
also use a good going over.
Any takers - please contact me privately. I'd love to see these
tweaked and offered back to the group - I'll do cover art etc.
HOARDER!

Heck ... let us *all* know.
I heard he had some naughty pics of Marcy Levy but he won't share
with me!
Al
I would certainly be interested in obtaining a copy either by trade, vine or
tree.

Hey Bob and all,
I have the Manchester DVD (Slunky version)and don't have a problem weeding
this title out to the group but the quality isn't the best on this one, 8/10
at best. If there are enough people with DVD burners in the group I'd be
happy to pass this one along. LMK.
Cheers,
Jon

Newcastle 2004 was doing the rounds but it was a poor recording in
terms of the sound levels that were recorded at source, I think the
taper was in the car park. Had a copy and I just binned it.
Manchester with Peter Kay can be found on the DVD that came with the
boxset from Slunky called Judgement Nights.

Ahoy - hoy, from the UK!
To start the ball rolling, I'll dive in with a request:
Newcastle TeleWest Arena, April 2004 - anyone, ANYWHERE got any idea if this
is available???????
I screwed up my own recording, & can't find another at all.
(The second half of the show came out pretty well, making the loss of the
first half even more annoying!)
Actually, I've noticed this year more than ever (probably because EC
realised for the first time in years that the UK isn't "RAH & a couple of
nights in the masses") that there's very little recorded on these shores.
You can generally trace a tour across the States, & even around Europe but
not here :(
Also, do any of the Manchester boots (audio or please: DVD!) include Peter
Kay's introduction? I'd certainly be interested in a copy of that show too!
All the usual, your list gets mine.....................
Cheers,
Bob
Hi
Basically a weed is where someone offers 2 or 3 copies of a show out and
each person that gets them has to then offer another 2 or 3 copies out. This
is fine if its SHN, FLAC etc but if its done in audio then there is the
chance of loss in quality.
Cheers - Joe

When I've been in trees/vines I tihnk the best way even for
burnerless people (assuming they have large hard drives...) would be
to send discs that are data discs...shn and flac w/ the md5 or flac
fingerprints...that way everyone has a lossless copy as well, no
possibility for tao "gaps".

I agree with TJ regarding SHN and/or FLAC. I think the originator of a tree
should seed with five SHN or FLAC discs of a show. That way, in theory, the
lossless characteristics continue forever. There is no reason why
subsequent recipients should not be able to pass along 3-5 more SHN/FLAC
copies to the next round of recipients, and so on down the line.

Hello all
Great to see this new group has started up. I am relatively new to Slowhand
but dont really like the digest mode and there is not much talk of trades,
etc on there.
I have a number of EC boots and always on the look out for more (especially
DVD's). My trading list can be found at http://shntrader.bravepages.com/
Just one point I would like to make about the group and weeds. If the group
is wanting to keep a high quality is this really what we want to be doing. I
know it helps burnerless people but can we not find a better way of doing
this maybe having burnerless buddies on a vine. I know that some groups I
belong too have banned weeds. Lets hear what everyone else thinks.
Cheers - Joe
