downloads or on CDR (for trade only).
NMATAPES

Originally released in 1982, the first release in the series covers
computer music, improvised work and computer controlled piano pieces from that
time. Highlights include Jon Rose's 19 string cello workout "Don't
Panic" and two rather funky EssendonAirport tracks.
Also featured are works by Warren Burt, David Hirst, John Jenkins, Alistair Riddell and more. A CD
cover is included in the download that features the tape's original liner notes
as well.

Shame File Music series of new Australian experimental music
mp3 EPs Terra Australis Incognita
continues with Volume V from Melbourne’s Bokor, entitled “Venture”.
Probably best known for the subtle, drone-sketch “The
Field” of a few years back, Bokor has of late
turned to creating waves of ambient guitar-generated sound, punctuated with
soft pulses of guitar waves that illustrate visions of journeys. “Venture” is Bokor’s latest quest into the soft world of guitar
ambience.
Download it for free from http://ShameFile.tripod.com (click on
Terra Australis Incognita on the left), or purchase a
CDR version for $10ppd (or for trade).
The first four volumes are also available from the same
place:
Volume I W.I.T. “While You Were Ill…”
Volume II The Feeder “Scrapings
from a Lucid Layer”
Volume III Undecisive God “Headless”
Volume IV r.domain “In

Volume IV in the Terra Australis Incognita ("Unknown Southern Land") series of new Australian experimental music comes from Adelaide's r.domain, entitled "In Remembrance".

Shame File Music continues the Terra Australis Incognita series of new Australian experimental music with Volume III by experimental guitarist Undecisive God (yours truly).

I'm involved in a couple of musical events as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival this coming weekend:
* The Wall of E Electric Guitar Ensemble presents The Story of E - 17 guitarists take you through the emotional range of soaring highs and mysterious depths hidden within perhaps the most basic element of rock music - the chord of E Major. Composed by Barnaby Oliver, this won't be no guitar wank free-for-all, but a minimalist approach to guitars at a range of sonic levels.
The Lithuanian Club Theatre, 44 Errol St, North Melbourne
2 performances - Saturday 1st and Sunday 2cnd October 2005, 7:30pm
Tickets: $18/$15 (all Fringe tickets 2 for the price of 1 on Saturday night I believe)
*Stickes And Tones - 1 Night, 2 Sets, 3 Drummers, 4 Others (I'm one of the others), total improv. Also featuring the member of Hi-God People, Because of Ghosts, ii, 3 Month Sunset, My Disco, Oh! Belgium and others
I will be on Channel 31 (Melbourne's Community TV) next Wedensday afternoon (August 31), for an interview and hopefully a quick performance. It is on the Radioactive Lounge program at 5:30pm. I think it is a "youth" program. Tune in to see what they make of me.
* New mp3 EP "Headless" out on Shame File Music in October.
* New CD "Eccentricities" out in December
* I will be playing as part of a 17 piece electric guitar ensemble for a Melbourne Fringe Festival performance on October 1 & 2 - see http://members.optusnet.com.au/wall_of_e/
This new series seeks to document notable Australian experimental artists (both established and lesser known) by commissioning them to produce an EP of material that will then be made available for free downloading online, as well as on CDR.
Volume I by W.I.T. "While You Were Ill..." was released in June for free downloading
Volume II by Melbourne's The Feeder "Locus of Variation" has just been released. The music is eerie, minimalist, and subtly compelling. The Feeder's first few releases explored power electronics, but this new more subtle direction see's this young Melbourne artist excel.
Volume III in the series will be by Undecisive God, available in October. Submissions are still open to interested artists, but get in fast because the spots are filling up.
Also new on Shame File:
Volvox "Egg, Pluto Pup and You" CD - the final in the trilogy of posthumous releases by one of Australia's strangest bands. The best of the lot to my ears, most reminiscent of their live performances of all the 3 CDs. Worth the price for the cover of "Wuthering Heights" alone. - $15ppd

NEW ON SHAME FILE
* Undecisive God “Border Protection Policy” CD
The Border Protection Policy CD is a frustrated, angry response to
Australia's draconian policies against asylum seekers.
Australian has had a policy of mandatory detention of all asylum seekers who
arrive on our shores since the mid 1990s, including children. There are 91
children in in detention in Australia, and 89 in Nauru (as of November 2003)
The vast majority of detainees are Afghan, and most a held in detention
(including children) for 6-12 months. Some have been in detention for up to 4
years.
During the 2001 Federal Election campaign, Norwegian freight ship the Tampa
rescued over 400 asylum seekers from a sinking boat off the coast of
Australia. Australia refused to allow the ship to dock, and passed
retrospective legislation excluding Australian sea island territories from
its immigration zone. This is to prevent asylum seekers landing and claiming
refugee status.
Also in the lead-up to the election, the government claimed asylum seekers
had thrown children overboard to incite the Australian Navy to take them on
board. This later proved to be untrue.
These are policies of the current Australian Government, but mandatory
detention was originally implemented by the previous government (the ALP -
now in oppostion). All Australians are responsible for this xenophobic,
fearful refusal of asylum seekers.
Extract from a review of “Border Protection Policy” from The Taped Crusaders:
“The title track is projectile vomit hurled like fists pounding into the

The Shame File CD burner is on its way out and funds are low. Many of the Shame File releases are on CDR, so without a CD burner it will make things tough. But funds are low at the Shame File headquarters, so here's your chance to help out...
The first 10 people to spend AU$10 (US$7) or more on any Shame File items before 29 October 2003 will be able to select any item and have it delivered to them for free after I have purchased a new burner. If ten lovely people can help out, I would be hoping to purchase the new burner in November/December. Then I will send you your selected free item. Of course, you get the items you pay for straight away.
$10 doesn't sound like much and it's not. I do mostly trades so that is why cash flow is slow. So go ahead, help me out and get some great sounds as well.
RECENT ADDITIONS TO SHAME FILE
Undecisive God - "Offering" CD The concept behind most of the recordings on this full-length CD is the combination of guitar drones of varying tones and textures into a series of canon-based arrangements, exploring the dynamics resulting from the interplay of multiple layers of sound, both through composition and pure chance. This is also the first major Undecisive God release using mostly digital recording methods. - AU$8ppd (US$6ppd)
