I hope the show on Saturday night went well. Billy Idol actually was
not half bad. Still, I would have liked to see Cobra Verde. Though
I did see the revamped New York Dolls who were pretty damn close to
Cobra Verde if you ask me.
I finally got around to updating the home page of this group to promo
the record. Cobra Verde is currently updating their website more
than I do this one! Quite a turn about from a couple years ago.
Sorry I am so slow on the draw now due to work. *Artie Fufkin
voice* KICK ME. RIGHT HERE.
Here are a few cool CV-related thingers I can post about:
1. The band sent out its newsletter, which I will repost here
momentarily in case anyone happens by who doesn't get it in e-mail.
2. Bitchfucked, I mean Pitchfork, just kidding guys we all love
Pitchfork (hahaha) reviewed the new record here:
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/c/cobra-verde/copycat-
killers.shtml
It's actually not too bad of a review though they didn't mention any
of the better cuts, IMHO. I always think those dudes don't listen to
it all the way through. I mean come on guys, I know what rock
reviewers are like...sitting up all nite, dishing on the IM to their
pals about movies, wired on ephedra and coffee...oh the life.
3. Also if you drop over to http://www.cobraverde.com there's a
long discussion with John P about Why a covers album? that is
typical John P and quite fun to read.
4. And if you just can't get enough John to read, he's also updated
his website, http://www.scamcity.com so you can kill some time at
work perusing that too. Just don't get fired because then you won't
be able to buy the new record. If you've already bought it, don't
get fired anyway cuz you won't be able to pay to go to a show. If
you've already been to a free show, just don't get fired 'cuz it
ruins the economy for everybody and eventually leads to Communism.
Take it from me, I am old, AND I KNOW. OK Bye!
