Description

The Columbus Folk Music Society is a great group. I recommend joining. For more information on how to join check out the group's website: http://www.cfms-inc.org/

This yahoo group was created so more Columbus area folk musicians can find each other and get together and jam! My idea of a great jam session is where I get together with others and I actually get to play and sing 90% of the time. Folk musicians want to play and sing not sit and watch. To have a successful jam session we need to want to play the same type of music. Dulcimer players play alot in the key of D. Fiddle players play in the key of A. I'm an alto. I like songs in my voice range. So add your name, instruments played, and music preference in the Database. That way.... we can find each other and set up some jamming parties!!

This group is open to anyone and everyone who loves folk music. All of the folk instruments and folk music/art groups are welcome: Appalachian dulcimers, Autoharp, Banjo, Banjo-uke, Bodhran, Bones, Catspaws. Diddley bow, Didgeridoo, Fiddle, Fife, Guitar, Hammer dulcimer, Jaw harp, Jug, Kazoo, Limberjack, Mandolin, Mouth bow, Musical saw, Nose flute, Plucked zither, Recorder, Slide whistle, Spoons, Stumpf fiddle, Thumb piano, Tin whistle, Ukulele, Washboards...

Please use the calendar to post when your folk music group is meeting or performing!
