   We have confirmed concerts!


   NEW YORK - Knitting Factory, Valentine's Day Massacre
   February 14th, 2008

   (I don�t yet know if it will be one or two shows)


   LONDON - Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall
   March 18 & 20, 2008


   I know of other shows in the works, but no other confirmations have reached us
yet. There will also be a CD release party here in New York after the Guilty
Guilty Guilty release (probably in April) so I will let you guys know about that
too. If any of the New Yorkers who read this have suggestions for a venue,
please pass it along.

   We are plenty stocked on CDs and all remaining web orders will ship before
January 1st, 2008. I finally caught up!

Greetings all,

   The Valentine�s Day Massacre shows were amazing and Diamanda is gearing up for
her upcoming dates in Europe. Refer to the Tour table on the website if you�re
not clear as to where and when she is playing. In anticipation of the March 31
release of the new CD Guilty Guilty Guilty (it is sooooo good!) I imagine that
some shows will SELL OUT.

   The Barbican show in London last May SOLD OUT and here�s another reason why
the upcoming dates at Queen Elizabeth Hall might also: Diamanda will be signing
CDs after both shows in the lobby. So don�t wait until too late.

   California�s Arthur magazine has published an incredible and comprehensive
article on Diamanda, with gorgeous career-spanning photographs. For more info,

   A Guilty Guilty Guilty CD release event is in the works for New York City as
well, it will be a small venue and intimate. When everything is confirmed I will

   We have four new confirmed dates, in anticipation of the April 1 release of
Guilty Guilty Guilty and you should be seeing much of Diamanda in magazines

   You can also look for interviews in Dazed and Confused, Soma magazine in San
Francisco and Mojo, though I wasn't told the exact issues. Maybe we can all fill
each other in on the chat group as we find out.

   Also be sure to read the News page about the Joe Rees video exhibit at the
Getty in Los Angeles (I'm tempted to fly out there just to see it). It contains
footage of Diamanda performing The Litanies of Satan.

A few things as summer starts to trickle away and October gets closer...

Diamanda will be performing in Madrid on October 13 and 15 and will go to
beautiful Vancouver BC�for a show there on November 29th.�

In addition to that, she has been making bleach-pen t-shirts which have been
quite popular with a few of you--and thanks! They are on the site shop, which
will be having some new addtions made soon. I shipped four of those t-shirts to
Europe today, so�if you bought one in the last 2 weeks or so�it's on its way!

For those of you in NYC, Diamanda will be doing a radio appearance on WFMU, on
August 28th, this Thursday, from 6AM to 9AM. I'm sure there are internet

Diamanda wanted all of you to know that she has been nominated for a �Lunes del
Auditorio� cultural award in Mexico. The ceremony will be conducted in Mexico
City on October 29th and features a wide variety of cultural awards, from ballet
to jazz. Diamanda has been placed in the �alternative� category and I�m not sure
if we can all cast a vote for her or not. I suspect that it�s done internally,

To the mailing list: Diamanda and her management in Paris just learned that the
original promoter of the Athens show in May 2008, whose final job was to pay
hotels for Diamanda and crew, has still not paid, and he is hiding out not
responding to her e-mails or the female directors of the Pallas Theatre, all
of whom became friends of Diamanda since they did such a first-rate job, even
when the promoter disappeared, leaving them with all the work to do.

After he disappeared, they still produced Diamanda because they loved her, and
she feels the same about them and wants them not to be troubled with what are
now the bills from the hotel that the promoter,Nikos Serafanian, promised to
pay, in lieu of doing anything else. It has now been five months.

Diamanda and Intravenal Sound Operations in NYC invite you to e-mail Mr.
Serafanian and send large attachments to make his internet life rather
difficult. Phone calls in all languages, including invented ones, are delightful
. There are many Greek words you may consult dear friends on the mainland, or
the islands, in order to address his behavior and his person.

Diamanda is, as always, grateful for your partnership in these enterprises.

Greek Londoner's are incensed at a recent article by Jeremy Clarkson in The Sun
in which he describes Greece as a toilet, is this the last outrage to get
Clarkson the boot?

The BBC Top Gear and Sun columnist Jeremy Clarkson has angered the Greek
population of the United Kingdom with racist and insensitive comments made in
his weekly newspaper column in the Saturday edition of The Sun, were describes
Greece as a "toilet".

In an article "Holiday ad cuts a'tache" Clarkson refers to a recent campaign by
the Greek National Tourist board in London, were a women is pictured with
Clarkson referring� "and a girl who didn�t look all that Greek either.� She
didn�t have a moustache for instance".

Clarkson referred recently to lorry drivers murdering prostitutes and was given
a warning by the BBC, but to insult an entire nation in this manner is way off
the mark.

The London Daily News has formally written to the editor of The Sun and a formal
complaint is being made to the Press Complaints Commission which has strict
guidelines over accuracy:

"i) The Press must take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or distorted
information, including pictures.

iii) The Press, whilst free to be partisan, must distinguish clearly between
comment, conjecture and fact."

Had these comments been made about Muslims or African-Caribbean�s there would
have been calls for Clarkson immediate dismissal in any case The Sun has not
made any remedy to date.�
The London Daily News calls for Clarkson to be sacked from The Sun for making
these comments.

DIAMANDA�s RESPONSE:

Okay. It is the afternoon in NYC and I am in a bad mood; thusly, a goat is
exactly what I was looking
for, given my Greek heritage; and I thank the BBC for supplying me�with an ugly
one in the�visage of �Mr. Clarkson.

Stamata; here is a typically unattractive and�stodgy Anglo journalist�dissing
Greece�and Greeks yet again: "Greece is a toilet."

The problem of course is that Anglos have always felt they were the new Greeks,
their complaint
being that the current race is a race of Mongrels. .

As England, like Turkey, adores the Greek islands for appropriational purposes,
and wishes only
that the people themselves would leave, we are met yet again with the "Why won't
they leave?" question..

Just how many countries, ethnic groups, etc.�want our land and hate our people,
whilst speaking not a word of our language nor even knowing what our music
really is?


I would have to say about 90 percent..

How fascinating to be portrayed over and over again as, in fact, the toilet for
the world, the
hospitality suite for the Turks, the Italians, the Germans, the English, the
Americans,
the Israelis, and I have not even begun to talk about tourism, or the
appropriation of Cyprus
by the Turks the British and the Americans.

What, "no moustache?" (Clarkson, again.) Whose fault is that?

While it is most probably true that Mr. Clarkson would prefer a full beard, in
fact, Greek women
probably are not overcome with gratitude at yet another pink-faced voyeur; and
they�will not render
their services for free. I am sure he has tried Morocco as well, but no beards
there, either.
Whilst I am sick to death of the trifle," It's Greek to me," commentary employed
by virtually
every news�editor�west of Bali, I seriously wonder if that comment should not be
rewarded with a nice
solid cornholing. After all, we Greeks are the inventors of many things, but the
only thing most
ethnic groups appear to agree upon is�our�blithe�use of the anal orifice. Thusly
I would suggest that
some Greeks round up and hogtie this ugly minion of the British Kingdom and give
him a beating.

But walk his ass to the bank first and get all his money. It is an ugly job to
rape Britain, but, then
again, who really cares about Britain? What IS Britain anyway, but a group of
refugees from countries
taken over by the British.

I am sick of�the pig-farmers. It is time to eliminate them once and for all.

Especially entertaining is the reviewer�s account of watching Diamanda nearly
empty out an unsuspecting audience in Miami, while performing Plague Mass there
ten years ago. I saw the same thing happen (circa 1995?) when she performed it
at the Masonic Temple in Portland�ah memories.

Los Fortunados�you lucky Spaniards! Diamanda will be returning to Hispania in
March, doing two shows there, March 20th in Sevilla and March 22nd in Gijon.

Friends everywhere,

Alas, after a wonderful two-and-a-half years, I am giving over my webshop and
mailing list duties to a wonderful replacement, Anna, who will serve you more
efficiently, as 2009 whipped around the corner fast for me and I'm weighed down
with�writing projects. I will of course, be assisting Anna during this
transition and thank you for your patience as we implement�changes. While I
certainly won't be "gone forever", you will most likely not be�hearing as much
from me as before.

More importantly,�thank you for continuing to support Diamanda Gal�s, a
world-class artist of peerless, stature, someone who has startled and influenced
me since I saw her perform Plague Mass in Portland, Oregon, in the early 1990s.
It has been a great pleasure and honor to serve her and to get to know some of
