Remember Jayron from Nashville Star last season?
If anyone is interested in a great demo singer...
well, this guy is awesome. He was a finalist in the Nashville Star
competition last year and I LOVE his voice. He is available for demo
work upon request. He has that voice that is very pitchable for
mainstream country. If you'd like to hear his vocals, I'll be glad
to send you a sample anytime after this Monday (if you can accept
mp3's). Besides, he is just the nicest guy you will ever meet!!
Here is his contact info:

Subject: Female Country Singer looking for "A" quality song
Comment:
Hello! I am a writer myself and am putting together a demo of my
material (like everyone else is this town!) but I would like a few
songs by other writers to keep my sound well-rounded. I am looking
for country up tempos or really strong ballads. Story songs are
great, anything sassy with a honky-tonk edge is great!

Hello,
My name is Tom. I'm a singer out of Cincinnati Ohio looking for
good material. i have a raspy style soulful, rock voice and I'm
working on my first album. i need to hook up with someone who can
write intelligent (non-cheesy) lyrics as well as compose music
tracks. I do write myself, but it is tough for me to compose the
music since i do not play any particular instrument well enough to
write with. i like the sound of real guitars, drums, keys even sax
and harmonica. not looking for pop or hip hop beats. looking for
real music. i would love the chance to work with you if you feel we
have something in common. please contact me at your convenience to
discuss further. here is a link to an artist that most resembles
the sound i have and am looking for. let me know what you think.
his name is Marc Broussard at www.marcbroussard.com . hope we get
the chance to work together.
thank you,
Tom

Hello Ande,
Doak Turner referred you as a good contact in Texas. (see below)
My home town is Houston, Texas and I am making plans to tour Texas
in the coming months. I will be working on a new CD project and need
information on the Texas circuit.
A brief bio: I've been in Nashville since 1997 and have worked as a
staff writer for several major publishing companies, as well as
producing artist development projects - one of which landed a record
contract with an MCA subsidiary. I also teach songwriter workshops
and do one-on-one song critiques, and want to incorporate that into
my tour.
I have contacts in Houston but I'm talking to as many folks as I can
around the state. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
Please call me when you have time.
Warmest Regards,
Troy McConnell

Hello Everyone,
It's been nearly 2 years since the Nashville2u Conference in Houston
and time and space make it hard to keep in touch! I don't just
email you via group emailings unless I feel it is worthy to do so.
This is very worthy.
Pat Pattison, author of "Writing Better Lyrics," is coming to
Austin on
June 3 and 4th. Pat teaches at Berkley College of Music. I've
attached his credentials at the bottom of this email. I attended
Pat's class in Austin a month ago, entitled "2nd Verse Hell." His
course is 2 days. $100. Saturday and Sunday. And he's able to
critique your songs, and your styles. I promise that you'll come
away with tools you've never had before that will increase your
ability to write better songs. I can't say enough about his
personality and friendliness to his approach. If you are really
serious about songwriting, then you need to attend his class.
Email strousongs@...,
Joe Strouse, if you are interested.
Hope you can plan to be there.
Let me know how you are doing!
Here is Pat's website:
http://members.aol.com/ptpattison/lyricpages/bio.html
This is from his website:
Pat Pattison is a Professor of lyric writing and poetry at Berklee
College of Music, where he developed the curriculum for the only
Songwriting Major in the country.
In addition to his three books, Pat has written for Recording
Magazine, The Performing Songwriter, and the LASS Musepaper. He also
presents songwriting clinics across the country.

have you heard of this austin Violinist
Rebecca Browne, Juilliard graduate, is currently completing a
masters degree in violin performance at the University of Texas at
Austin, studying classical violin with Brian Lewis and Daniel Ching
and jazz violin with Jeff Hellmer.
Rebecca is a very active violinist in Austin and can be seen
performing in gigs ranging from Austin Symphony Concerts and Austin
Eurythmie Ensemble Performances to playing at Austin's premier jazz
club, the Elephant Room. Rebecca plays and improvises on the violin
in many styles including classical, rock, jazz, Texas-style
fiddling, Celtic, worship, bluegrass and Gospel. She puts these
skills to use on the stage and as a studio musician, playing for
bands and on soundtracks.
This last summer, she, along with two fellow Juilliard graduates,
traveled to Eastern Europe with 30 violins and founded a violin
program for orphaned and impoverished children. Rebecca is deeply
committed to unlocking the joy of music in young people's lives and
maintains a private violin studio in Austin.
