The Yamaha module has settings for the DT series triggers, if that is
what you use. I don't know what the output of the DRUM ones is like.
However, if you want to get a rim sound as well as a main pad sound
you will need to use two inputs unless you use the DTXpander. The
Yamaha DT series triggers have a piezo inside them.

If you use the Yamaha DT series all you should need to do is to edit
the trigger settings for that channel(s) to use the "DT Snare" setting
(see page 12 of the DTXpress II reference manual). All the kits can
stay the same, although depending on which input you put the rim shot
sensor you will need to edit that.

If you want to put your own piezos onto a drum, it would be worthwhile
