Cymbals for eKit   Message List

Hi

I have a DTxpress kit and I'm looking to upgrade the cymbals to make the kit more acoustic feeling (I already have a full size Pearl kit with Mesh heads and ddrum triggers).

I currently have the Yamaha cymbal pads and RHH130 - the latter is clunky and is just not cutting it for me.  My main criteria for the cymbals is to be as close to feel as possible to an acoustic set - particularly the hi-hat.  I would like it to be on a proper hi-hat stand for authentic feel and the top hat to float up/down (really i want a real hi hat that is silent but triggers!!!).

Surge cymbals do look the business - the 2-zone ride and the crash look like they might be good but it appears the hi hat is single zone and is X-hat mounted. Any thoughts?

The RHH135 is another option for hi hat. Is it any good? Better than the RHH130 which I've never go on with?

Any other options?

Thanks for any help.

Tom
