BEATLES FANS' BRITISH INVASION Liverpool, England: As America celebrates the Beatles 40th anniversary this year, Beatles fans from throughout North America will be traveling to Liverpool for a British Invasion in reverse. This time, it will be the fans invading England! Whereas 40 years The Beatles brought Liverpool to the U.S., in 2004 there is a travel package that brings fans to Liverpool! This summer, hundreds of the most faithful invade Liverpool for "Beatle Week" as part of the 21st annual "Magical History Tour" from August 21-September 1, which takes them to all the Beatles homes, schools, clubs, homes, early hangouts and other sites in Liverpool, London and also Hamburg.
The fully guided, professionally escorted tour includes visits to Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, the Cavern Club and all the places that fans have dreamed of someday visiting. A highlight of the tour is "Beatle Week" in Liverpool, featuring the International Beatles Convention, the Mersey Street Music Festival and the annual Liverpool Beatles Auction. There is also a VIP party in the London Hard Rock Café with special guests, and an exclusive concert at the Kaiserkeller club in Hamburg where the Beatles got their start. Travelers will experience every Beatles-related landmark in Hamburg, as well as in London and Liverpool.
Fan will meet and greet many Beatle associates, relatives and dignitaries who take part in the annual festivities. On prior tours, fans have met Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Julian Lennon and many others. The tour is hosted by Beatles aficionado Charles F. Rosenay and Rene van Haarlem, editor of the international magazine "Beatles Unlimited." The Hamburg portion of the tour is hosted by legendary Beatles bodyguard Horst Fascher.
Another unique aspect of the 40th Anniversary celebration is that America's greatest Beatles tribute bands will be "invading" the U.K. to play Liverpool during Beatles Week. Among the great groups performing will be New York's "The Fab Faux," Cleveland's "1964 The Tribute," "The Fab Five" from Liverpool, New York, Chicago's "American English" and "British Export" and also "The Fab Four" and Tim Piper's "Working Class Hero" from Los Angeles.
