For those of you who may not have seen it in the paper, Julie Fields
[married name of 6 months, Julie Michaels], as we knew her, died on
Thursday at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler of complications from ALS.

Most of you will remember Julie as the Team Coordinator of Song Of The
Coast during the period of our Christmas Show last year. She was the one
with the big smile and encouraging words for everyone while Shirley and I
were cracking the whip. Julie got married this year [not too long after her
diagnosis] and was really trying to keep a positive attitude [as usual].

Myron told me, last night, that they had a service for her Friday. Sorry,
we didn't get the info out in time but there was nothing about it in the
SOTC list.

I hope she and Dick and Earl get to sing some 8-part Christmas songs this
year. I know she'll be smiling.

We send our heartfelt condolences to her husband and family and to the
members of SOTC. She will be missed.

WOW! I don't know about you, but when I got home from the Afterglow at
Bennigan's about 0045 [12:45 AM] and hit the bed, I was out like a light
for eight hours and woke up in exactly the same position I crashed. Then I
went back to sleep for a couple more hours just to make sure I was done. [grin]

I want to thank the MoC9 Committee for all their work and contributions
which started almost one year ago today. The meetings and conferences and
sub-committees got alot of work done and produced an original script that
got alot of laughs [Marilyn, Shirley S., Rita] and worked in plenty of
music. Marilyn and Shirley were even still writing the show at the
Afterglow when they came up for another exit line for the first sequence.
After Dee's shopping exit line, Robert could have said: "For I have
clearance sales to keep and Malls to go before I sleep." [snicker]

I want to thank our Directors, Faye Delaney & Bill Hibbert for all their
effort and patience. I thank the choruses for learning the new music and
not making us use folder! I want to thank Jeff Lilley and all the guys at
Seabreeze High School for their contributions and energy. It's a great
facility and now that we know how it works, all our future shows there are
going to be even better.

I must give great thanks to Bob Traetta for his innovative use of cardboard
and the fabulous set pieces he created for us. His "Blizzard" cup was
nothing short of phenomenal considering he didn't get the trash can or the
photo until Tuesday before the Tech rehearsal. He also improvised our
snowman support on the spot yesterday. Many thanks to Norma Rea for her
clever use of "snow" on those beach balls. They looked really good from the
audience both in Frosty and the sight gag behind The Music Channel. Thanks,
to Henriette for decorating the risers. Thanks to the Visual Aspects Tean
for coordinating the "Christmas Casuals." They looked great onstage and the
Usher team reports many glowing comments about your sparkle onstage.

Thanks, to our quartets; The Music Channel, Intracoastal Connection, and
the wonderful Escapade from Jacksonville. Not only do you make it possible
to move the choruses off and onstage but you provide great Barbershop that
all of love to hear.

I want to thank Dottie Newcomer for being our House Manager and Usher
Wrangler. They took care of our audiences in style.

I must thank all the contributors for the door prizes; Sunset Limo, Top of
Daytona, Simply Roses, Ricardo's, Hawaiian Tropic, Bennigan's, and
Wal-Mart. I also want to thank Seaside Music Theatre for their tickets and
for the use of their drops and that irreplacible Star Drop that adds so
much to our finales.

Thanks to Belinda Cochrane for the beautiful rendition of "Silent Night"
and fo coming back for the second show after all.

Many thanks to the non-chorus members who participated as speaking parts
for elves. Special thanks to Karen [last name unknown] from Jacksonville
who did much work behind the scenes Saturday in the true spirit of
Barbershop and showmanship. Thanks to all the kids that participated in the
opening sequence of Act II.

Great thanks to Bill Ragusa for all his hard work and creativity on
designing and producing our tickets, posters and display ads. All those
years at design school really paid off, Bill! [grin]

Thanks to Omniglow Corporation even though their shipper let them and us
down. Omniglow donated 1500 light sticks that were supposed to arrive
Friday morning and never made it. Anyone need 1500 light sticks for anything?

Always when doing this by names somebody might get left out. I apologize in
advance if that has happened here. EVERYBODY onstage and offstage were
absolutely critical and all of you have my undying admiration, respect and
thanks.

I love all of you for your hard work and cooperation.

First, I want to thank Bob Traetta for the set pieces. That Blizzard cup is
amazing. I gave him a plastic trash can and a couple pictures I dug up on
the Internet on Tuesday and tonight we had a great sight gag! Thanks, Bob!

Many thanks, to Jeff Lilley and his crew. They put in an extra hour after
you left to start hanging the drops and polishing up the technical end and
Jeff will be working with us tomorrow afternoon from 1300-1500.

For the rest of you, I appreciate your participation in the Tech rehearsal.
It may have seemed chaotic to you onstage but in the control room and out
front, it sounded and looked GREAT! With all the staging set and lighting
computerized, we should have a smooth run on Saturday. The cueing will be
much more obvious then for all concerned.

Did everyone bring in their wrapped package? I'll be taking inventory
against the show sign-up sheets tomorrow. I need that package from you if
you're going to the Afterglow. They are also going to be used as props all
over the stage during both Acts.

Expect final performance sheet info for each Chorus to come from your
respective coordinators in separate group email.

Show scripts are still available via email by request in either MS Word or
WordPerfect formats.

Shirley and I will be at Seabreeze from 0900 on Saturday if anyone wants to
come by earlier than their chorus call.

Thank you, for your hard work. You'll see it pay off on Saturday.
