NEW SIGNINGS

We have our eyes and ears open... always seeking the cream of
promising bands to offer the world! We present two great new signings...

MORNING

Dreammetal... Imagine a mix from atmospheric, progressive rock and
heavy fantasy metal. That's a short description of the music Morning
makes...

Morning are already well known in Holland and Belgium for their
remarkable live appearances. They have build up a decent reputation as
probably one of the most exciting young bands. After 3 sold-out demo
EPs, Morning are ready for the next big step: their debut album THE
HOUR OF JOY. A truly magnificent work that will establish them in the
scene for good. To be released worldwide in September.

LUNA FIELD

Expect the unexpected from this up and rising Teutonic death/black
metal masters! Luna Field debuted in 2003 with CLOSE TO PRIME on the
France label Season Of Mist and played numerous concerts with the
likes of Belphegor, Dew Scented and Die Apokalyptischen Reiter among
others. Their second step into the worlds of extremity is entitled
DIVA. The album was recorded at the Mastersound studio of the infamous
Alex Krull (Atrocity, Leave's Eyes). The result is a massive
production of astonishing and raging riffing, merciless drumming and
exquisite songwriting combined with perversion and decadence!

Release date: 13/06/2005
http://www.luna-filed.de/

Promising newcomers The Bereaved are in the process of composing new
songs for their successor to their debut DARKENED SILHOUETTE. So far
the music of eight songs has been done. One of the brightest hopes of
Swedish death metal will keep us in trouble for a long time.

http://www.thebereaved.tk/

In July 2005 Thanatos will enter the Excess Studios in Rotterdam once
again to record two songs that will be used for future releases. The
band will record a new version of the classic Thanatos track "And
Jesus Wept" (originally featured on 1992's REALM OF ECSTASY) plus a
blistering version of the Dark Angel classic "The Burning Of Sodom."

The Swedish Invasion Continues!!

The Swedish Invasion Continues!! Perris Records would like to announce
the signing of former Shotgun Messiah vocalist Zinny Zan's new project
Zan Clan. Zan Clan will be releasing WE ARE ZAN CLAN, WHO THE FUCK ARE
YOU in June 2005. Zinny Zan is one of the most charismatic frontmen
ever. His voice contains everything from Phil Lynott's nonchalant cool
to Steven Tyler-like screams. Mr. Zan only has to open his mouth to
create the sound of true rock'n'roll.

Zinny's new partner in crime is platinum-selling songwriter, producer
and guitarist Chris Laney. A man who has also worked with the likes of
Bruce Kulick (Kiss), Randy Piper (W.A.S.P.) and several others.
Teaming up with Laney has resulted in the same kind of revitalization
for Zan as Rick Rubin meant for acts like Slayer, Red Hot Chili
Peppers and AC/DC. Probably because Laney inhabits the same
combination of fan, visionaire and total pro as Rubin. Together, Laney
and Zan hand-picked some of the most amazing Swedish players around:
Johan Koleberg is Sweden's greatest drummer in the field of hard rock
and metal. He was a member of Lion's Share and has played with some of
Sweden's biggest solo acts. The magnificently versatile guitarist
Pontus Norgren has lent his skill and taste to bands like Great King
Rat, Jekyll'n'Hyde, Humanimal and Talisman, as well as working as a
session player. Ballsy bassist Pontus "Eggy" Egberg, formerly of
Lion's Share, is also a sought-after session player.

Admittedly, it's been quiet on the Zan front for far too long, but now
his own band Zan Clan are back with a new lineup and an new album. The
album includes a collection of songs that feel like a 21st century
sequel to Shotgun Messiah's ground-breaking debut album, which shifted
more than 500,000 units in the U.S. alone. Where most bands are under
the impression that they have to choose between hard riffs and party
rock'n'roll, Zan Clan combine the best of both worlds. Regardless if
you wanna bang your head or sing along, they do the trick.

Track Listing:

1. Go Go Go
2. Heart N' Soul
3. High Speed Junkie
4. So Damn Good
5. Mess Ya Up
6. Silver Bullet Toy
7. Heart Died Young
8. Dejá Vú
9. Jinxed
10. Can't Get U Out
11. Outro
12. Surrender (Bonus Track)

FREQUENCY - New Signing and Debut Album!

Scarlet welcomes the most promising newcomers from Sweden! The Melodic
Metal band Frequency. The band, formed in the year 2002 with members
from the discontinued death metal band Lothlorien, is now in Studio
Mega (The Crown, Arise, Impious) to record their debut album WHEN
DREAM AND FATE COLLIDE. With tight and heavy songs Frequency will be a
fresh wind in the melodic metal scene and we are pretty sure they will
get amazing reactions on their debut! The release date is tentatively
scheduled for September 2005.

EVILDOER - New Signing and Debut Album!

Scarlet is proud to announce the signing of the latest
ultra-aggressive metal sensation from Sweden, Evildoer! The band is
pleased to be recording the new stuff very soon and with the sound of
Berno Studio (The Haunted, Deranged) it will be as furious as they
want! The working title of the album is TERROR AUDIO which pretty much
sums up how it sounds: fast, aggressive and violent yet very diverse
and well organised! Hopefully a rude awakening for the listener...
With Andreas Sölveström (also in Within Y) now on vocals things have
shown to turn out a bit more dark and sinister than before wich really
worked out well on the old songs as well. The great feedback and
reviews they got from the demo will hopefully continue as the new
stuff is just a frantic! Evildoer is really looking forward to see
what the reactions will be to the album both musically, lyrically but
also layoutwise since hopefully that will sum up the whole Evildoer
package! They dare to promise something to look forward to and be
beware of! A release date is planned for August/September 2005. Check
their web site at http://www.evildoer.se/ .

- Hardcore Stalwarts Bane Release First Album In Three Years

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Three years after its last release, one of the
current hardcore scene's most influential bands -- Bane -- will
release its new album, "The Note," on May 17 on Equal Vision Records.

While the current stream of hardcore bands focus on combining hardcore
with metal, Bane sticks to a classic style of hardcore not often heard
from today's bands.

"We've been a very lucky band as far as how long we've been able to
stay together, continue to tour, write songs, and stay relevant in
this scene," said vocalist Aaron Bedard. "I think a big part of the
reason why is that we've always just trusted our instincts and what
feels right to us as five hardcore kids, and not worry so much about
what everyone else around us expects or wishes we would do."

The band released its first album, a compilation of its seven-inch
singles entitled "Holding This Moment," in 1998. Bane's first proper
full-length, "It All Comes Down to This," was released the next year,
followed by "Give Blood" a couple years later.

"I think maybe we approached this new record with a little bit of
confidence based on the success of 'Give Blood' and how proud we still
are of that record," said Bedard. "We knew what we were capable of if
we dug deep inside and really challenged ourselves to push things a
little bit further. We were excited to do what we've pretty much
always done -- write songs that we really connect with on some sort of
honest, emotional level...to not be afraid to deal with different
melodies or tempos, even if they didn't fall in line with the typical
'hardcore' framework."

In the 10 years since Bane was formed with various members of the
Massachusetts hardcore scene, lineups have changed but the constant
has been the group's dedication to touring.

"I think we are at our best when we are playing live," Bedard said.
"There is just something about the energy, interaction, and
spontaneity that exists at a show that you just can never capture in
the studio. I definitely think we have always been a band who makes
records so that we can continue to tour and play the songs to rooms
full of kids."

Bane will begin touring again just days after the release of "The Note."

With things on hold with THE THIRD LEVEL for the next while, we're
delighted to announce that we will be producing an hour long
documentary to bridge the gap.

Provisionally entitled 'Catch The Wind', the documentary will tell the
Celtic Legacy story from 1997-2005 and will include concert footage
not seen anywhere before, including rare footage of 2 concerts from
1998. This will be a totally home produced DVD and while the quality
of the concert footage will vary, the production values will be up
there with the most professionally marketed DVD's.

What's interesting about this is that it doesn't (yet) have a happy
ending and so the DVD will present a band currently in flux and
pondering what lays ahead. We can't exactly invent a line up on the
spot so it will capture the mood as we plan ahead for the next phase
of CL. But as we all know with Celtic Legacy, nothing ever stays the
same for long, so by the time we actually get around to putting the
whole thing together there could be new personnel in place. The final
content really does depend on current events.

Along with the main documentary we are working on including a brief
preview of some selected tracks from the next album and if space
permits, bonus material comprising 2 German TV spots about last year's
Rudesheim Festival.

The 1-minute trailer for the documentary is now available for you to
view at:

http://www.celtic-legacy.com/Trailer2.wmv

It's 7MB in size but that's because the quality is pretty good. It's
in Windows Media Format so that should be accessible by everyone.

- Michael Schenker will no longer be touring with Yngwie Malmsteen.
The following was posted on Michael's official website
http://www.michaelschenkerhimself.com/index2.html

I am sorry to tell you that I have to cancel MSG's upcoming tour with
Yngwie Malmsteen. It has turned out to be a catastrophe. The tour I
agreed to was a co-Headline Deal with Yngwie closing the show. I was
fine with this because he plays so loud and it would tend to deafen
the delicate ears of my fans. However, reports have been coming in via
e-mail, by phone, etc., that I was advertised only as a special guest.
Yngwie himself was advertising it on his Website that way too. MSG was
not even mentioned on the London Hammersmith tickets. This is an
insult to MSG and myself. I consulted with my brother Rudolph and he
who usually finds a positive way out suggested that I should not do
these concerts. I was hoping that it could have been straightened out,
but to date this situation has not been corrected. I need 20 days to
put this unique event-25 Years MSG Celebration set together and cannot
at this late date. This tour could have been saved, but people are not
working in my best interest. I Co-Headlined with Joe Satriani in '97
and there is no reason why this Tour should have been any different
and that is how it was presented to me.

- And more MSG news; it has been reported that Pete Holmes (drums) and
Rev Jones (bass) have officially left MSG "due to continuous cancelled
tour dates and bad management decisions," according to a statement
released by Jones. "This was not due to any personal problems with
Michael, it was purely a business decision." See
http://www.geocities.com/revjonesmail/news.html for more info.

- Nevermore's new CD THIS GODLESS ENDEVOUR, produced by Andy Sneap,
and is set for release on July 26.

- Primal Fear update from their official website
http://matsinner.rocks.de/ ;
Recordings in Stuttgart are done. We thank Charlie Bauerfeind for a
great partnership in doing this record. We had a fantastic and very
creative time and if there will be chance, we will work with Charlie
in the future again! We've recorded 12 tracks and 90% of the tracks so
far are signed, sealed & delivered. The missing 10% will be finalized
together with Mike Fraser in Vancouver, plus of course the mix & the
mastering. We will fly to Canada on Saturday! We're all very
satisfied with the outcome and even there are a lot of musical
surprises for you, we promise to deliver a 100% Primal Fear metal
album! See you soon on the festivals out there!

- Stratovarious will release their new, self-titled album, on
September 5 via Sanctuary Records.

- Stryper's new CD, REBORN, is set to be released August 16 on Big3
Records.

- Warrant's new CD BORN AGAIN, produced by Pat Regan, and is scheduled
to be released sometime this summer

Special thanks to Jason McMaster, Eric Corbin, & Nathan Birk for
helping gather some of this information.

IMAGINERY - LONG LOST PRIDE (B-) Lion Music, 2005
10 tracks, RT: 50:47
[ bobkatsionis@... ]
Imaginery is a power metal oriented band assembled by Greek
keyboardist Bob Katsionis, a solo artist who is getting more
recognition for his work in the excellent melodic metal ensemble
Firewind. LONG LOST PRIDE is the second album by Imaginery and
displays some incredible musicianship, if not the most original
songwriting. Blasting out of the speakers in fine form is opener
"Hypnotized" featuring killer keyboard/guitar interplay and a
terrifying guitar solo I'm assuming was played by Firewind's Gus
G."The Sign Of Today" follows with more dynamic keys and ripping
guitar work, although the liner notes provided don't identify the
guest soloist's spots so I'm unsure who is playing what (Marcel Coenen
and Michael Harris are also featured). Vocalist Bjorn Jansson (Tears
Of Anger) reminds me of Jorn Lande in phrasing but has a raspy element
to his voice that sometimes recalls Grave Digger's Chris Boltendahl.
The production is fairly strong with a nice edge on the guitars and
the vocals up front in the mix, drumming that is precise and powerful
but a bit standard with the usual double bass approach frequently
evident, and bass guitar that is solid but not as pronounced as I
would have preferred. "Roughly Scratched But Alive" is one of the
highlights, with a melodic chorus and some heavy seven-string guitar
action in evidence, and check out "Korozon (The Lord Of Evil)" for
some majestic playing with prog elements demonstrating what this band
is capable of. What I think Imaginery need to do is break free of some
of the power metal clichés (i.e., some of the sing-along choruses),
and carve out a more distinctive niche for themselves. They are
certainly more than capable as musicians; with a little more emphasis
on creative songwriting their next release could be truly devastating.
A band to watch... - Neal Woodall (MysticX10@...)
