-Backstreet Records Signs PushBoxx

MECHANICSVILLE, VA -- Backstreet Records announces it has signed
PushBoxx of Hartford, CT, to the label. PushBoxx will release its new
Backstreet album in August 2005.

While the actual signing took place earlier this year, Backstreet
executives chose to hold the announcement until the band was able to
complete the recording process.

PushBoxx has the sound the radio stations are looking for. They are
filling a void in the market that is going to be appealing to so many
different segments, says Backstreet Records Vice President and Founder
Jack Krenicki.

PushBoxx is already touring nationally this summer prior to the
album?s release, and more shows are scheduled for this fall.

PushBoxx's Backstreet debut was recorded with Jesse Henderson, Bill
Ryan and the team at Long View Farm Recording Studios in North
Brookfield, MA, and with Will Russell and the team at Electric
Wilburland Recording Studio in Newfield, NY. The recording was
mastered by Roger Lian, a mastering engineer for Masterdisk Corp. in
New York, NY.

Since 1998, Lian has mastered numerous records for artists including
Faith Hill, Powerman 5000, Mariah Carey, Slayer, Pantera, Staind, U2
and LL Cool J. He was also responsible for mastering all eight of
Backstreet Records' global releases from 1994 to 2002. These
Backstreet albums were from Trixter, Meliah Rage, Skate the Razor,
John Flywheel, Grady Cain, Axis Y, Graffix 420 and Uncle Jack.

About Backstreet Records

Backstreet Records was established in 1993. The label emerged from
Backstreet Entertainment, an artist development and management company
owned and operated by Jack Krenicki since the early 1980s. Backstreet
Records was formed as a joint venture between Backstreet Entertainment
and producer Tony Bongiovi, owner of the world renowned Power Station
recording studio in New York City. Backstreet Records is credited with
eight global releases from 1994 to 2002.

While not actively seeking new submissions, Backstreet Records
continued to promote and distribute its back catalog. In 2004, the
idea to re-launch Backstreet Records with a bold new look and feel was
born. Linwood Toombs of Mechanicsville, VA, stepped in as president of
Backstreet Records. Krenicki remains with the label as vice president.
Toombs and Krenicki have set out to bring back the artist development
that has been sorely lacking in the music industry. Together they have
assembled a powerhouse team of marketers, publicists and other
industry professionals and look forward to their highly anticipated
new releases. For more information, check out the company's web site
at http://www.backstrecords.com/ .

-Metal Blade Germany: Summer Breeze News

Dear festival community!

Summer Breeze is getting closer every day, and tickets are slowly but
surely running out! It's really about time to act, because the last
3-day tickets go to the advance sales points these days, and once they
are gone, that's it! At the festival itself there's only going to be a
limited amount of 1-day and 3-day tickets available from the box
office.

Tickets can only be ordered through our online shop (
http://shop.silverdust.de/catalog/ ) until the 1st of August, then it
will be closed down! Still each ticket ordered will receive a poster
with our new logo design and a few more treats, for example from last
year's Summer Breeze. Online orders over 100.- Euros, be it tickets or
merchandise, will receive a free T-shirt of our choice (from our
online shop range). This special offer is only valid for our online
shop (not for the hotline or the online form). Those who have already
ordered tickets should make sure payment reaches us soon in order to
guarantee they will get the tickets in time before the festival.

This year it's really worth being at the festival site from the very
beginning, because in between bands there will be raffles by ticket
numbers. Prizes are "Meet & Greets" with some of the bands playing,
VIP tickets, merchandise, fan packs, tickets for Summer Breeze 2006,
CDs, and much more. The winning numbers will be called out over the PA
during changeovers, as well as displayed on a LED board at the Metal
Hammer Bus, but prizes have to be claimed 15 minutes after they are
drawn, otherwise they will be raffled again!

And here's the final billing again:

And finally a message from Silverdust Records:

Melancholic rockers End Of Green have released the first single "Dead
End Hero" from their new album DEAD END DREAMING on July 25th. The
beauty of it is: You don't even have to leave your house to get this
catchy tune, because on http://www.dead-end-dreaming.de/ you can get
it as a free download, plus all the info on the new album. And in
order for this great track not to get lost on some anonymous CDR, the
full single artwork is available for free download as well. In
addition, the new video clip for "Dead End Hero" premieres on the
site, and, you guessed it, is available for free download, too!

The whole DEAD END DREAMING album will be released by Silverdust
Records in a deluxe digipack including video clip, making of, and an
exclusive bonus track, on August 22nd, 2005. And to get back to Summer
Breeze: End Of Green will co-headline the Pain Stage on Saturday
evening, and have come up with a few surprises, for example a special
light show designed by Samael bassist Chris Mermod, who usually works
for Lacuna Coil, Amon Amarth, Samael, etc. Watch out for that!

KEEP ON ROCKIN'

Cheers, Achim

-Statetrooper Update

The title track of Statetrooper's new album, THE CALLING, is currently
in the Top 10 in the Weed download chart

The band are using the new, legal P2P file sharing system called Weed
to allow internet sales of the album. In essence the way the system
works is that fans can download the track from the website (
http://www.statetrooper.co.uk/ ) and then are able to listen to the
track three times before it deciding to buy. If the buyer sends their
purchased file to someone else, who then buys the track, the person
who originally sent it to them will receive a commission on the sale.
And so on ... every time someone sends a track to a friend, and the
friend buys it, they receive commission! Weed is even giving new users
to the system a start up voucher for $5! Fans can burn the album onto
CD as well as give the whole album as a data CD rather than copy
illegally.

Statetrooper's website averages over 50,000 hits per month at the
moment, so the band decided that it was time to embrace the new
download technology. And of course, it was due to an internet campaign
by fans which got the band back together to record THE CALLING!

-I Surrender Records Announces New Signing: Valencia

Debut Album This Could Be A Possibility, Due Out October 11, 2005

NEW YORK, NY -- "There is something very special about Valencia," says
I Surrender owner Rob Hitt. "Honestly, they are my new favorite band
-- I'm so lucky." Not many people can actually say that they are
releasing the debut record of their favorite band. I Surrender is
lucky indeed; with Valencia's guitar-mangled, multi-layered, melodic
rock and amazing energy and musicianship, it's difficult to argue that
there isn't something special about this band.

Formed less than two years ago by Philadelphia natives Shane Henderson
(vocals), George Ciukurescu (bass), Maxim Soria (drums), JD Perry
(guitar), and Brendan Walter (guitar), the members of Valencia are
hardly new to the underground music scene. They've all toured
extensively in their previous bands, but it wasn't until the meeting
of musical minds that is Valencia, that these musicians felt that they
could collectively -- if not earnestly -- move forward to fully
explore their creative potential. "Something just clicks when we write
music together," says George, "we seem to gel unlike anything else
we've experienced before playing in other bands."

Sharing the stage with modern day peers like Brand New, The Starting
Line, Me Without You, Senses Fail, Mae, The Early November, Days Away,
Hidden In Plain View and Owen, Valencia has played everywhere from Los
Angeles to New York City. Now, with the backing of I Surrender
Records, these up-and-comers are set to release their debut album,
THIS COULD BE A POSSIBILITY, later this fall. The band will be touring
all summer long in support of the album, culminating with an August
12th appearance in Camden, NJ at this year's Warped Tour.

Catch Valencia on the road; additional dates TBA:

7/27/05 - The Roadhouse 69 - Ankey, IA
7/28/05 - The Setlist - Warrensburg, MO
7/29/05 - Elk Grove Village VFW - Elk Grove Village, IL

-Up From The Ashes: Rockers Helping Rockers Across The Nations

[Note: This is an editorial from Kim Jones, billed as "Your Guide to
Christian Music / Gospel." - Tim]

You can call it the proverbial "silver lining" in a cloud. You can
chalk it up to what many of us were taught as children -- "What Satan
intends for bad, God takes and makes good." You can label it as
coincidence, the luck of the draw or good timing. But whatever
subtitle you give it, you have to name it what it is ... ROCKERS
HELPING ROCKERS ACROSS THE NATIONS!

Holy Soldier decided to reunite because an underground outreach
ministry in Mexico needed their help. In order to raise funds for the
church after a financially devastating event, Steven Patrick and the
other members came together after 15 years of separation to play a
benefit concert. (Enter stage right the Beyond the Mountain Music
Festival). BTM was being planned and when the promoter of the festival
offered Daryn Hinton a stage for the guys to play on, it seemed like
an answer to prayers. But, sometimes things just don't work out like
they seem they will. Even though the festival was receiving worldwide
attention because of the benefit aspect, the promoter was adamant that
the festival was not a "benefit" concert. (I know this first hand
because I am one of the people that he chastised for writing more
about the benefit than about the music).

Fast forward three months. The Beyond the Mountain festival has been
cancelled. The festival web site says "We are deeply saddened to
report that Beyond The Mountain Music Festival has been cancelled due
to financial struggles and lack of ticket sales." But as one door
closed, another door opened. Roxx Productions and Thunderground Radio
have joined with Daryn Hinton to present "Up From The Ashes" on August
27th 2005. Instead of being a "side note" the entire concert has "one
common cause and goal -- to support our brothers in Mexico." Holy
Soldier, Once Dead, Neon Cross, Ultimatum, Rivera/Bomma, Tower Of
Hundred, Laudamus and Tykkus will all be performing. With lots of
food, fellowship and great music, it promises to be an awesome event!

Sometimes we, as people, get tunnel vision. We take an opportunity
that God has given us and "see" its outcome -- but we limit ourselves
to seeing only what we can conceive, which is rarely beyond the end of
our own nose. God is so much bigger than that. When we can't expand
our own vision to include God's plans, we rarely see success. While
I'm saddened by the fact that there are people who chose not to
participate in Up From The Ashes, I am elated that there are many more
people who will benefit from this concert. God is moving and people
are answering the call to see beyond themselves and into a bigger
picture.

My hat goes off to the musicians, promoters and fans who are coming
together to make something glorious happen for the Kingdom of God!

-Howe-Squire-White "More Drama Tour" Canceled

Tour featuring three Yes solo/side projects and special encore set
canceled because of immigration problems

LOS ANGELES -- InsideOut Music America regrets to announce that Yes
guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White have
canceled their scheduled "More Drama Tour," which was scheduled to
begin August 2 in Seattle, presented by VH1 Classic. The cancellation
was prompted by immigration issues in the wake of heightened security
brought on by the recent terrorist attacks in London. The tour will be
rescheduled at a later date. All those who purchased advance tickets
should contact their local box office or ticketmaster for refund
information.

"We're frustrated as much as the fans are but we understand the
importance of the heightened security and hope we can reschedule the
tour at some point," said the bassist for Yes and The Syn, Chris
Squire.

The tour was to have spotlighted performances by three different
bands, including the legendary pre-Yes prog-rock pioneers The Syn,
featuring Yes bassist Chris Squire and original vocalist Stephen
Nardelli; Yes drummer Alan White's recently formed side project White
with keyboardist Geoff Downes, and Steve Howe's solo set. The three
principals then planned to perform their own set of DRAMA-era Yes
songs.

Even though the "More Drama Tour" has been called off, Yes fans will
still have a pair of summer releases to look forward to, including the
35TH ANNIVERSARY: SONGS FROM TSONGAS DVD on Image Entertainment, which
hits retail on August 9. Shot at Tsongas Arena in Boston during Yes'
highly acclaimed 35th Anniversary Tour, it showcases the band in high
definition and a state-of-the-art 5.1 Surround Sound audio track,
featuring the reunited classic line-up of Jon Anderson, Steve Howe,
Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Alan White.

THE WORD IS LIVE, a box set of Yes live concert performances, will be
released by Rhino Records on August 23.

-Beautiful Creatures To Release DEUCE On August 23, 2005 Through
Spitfire Records

Beautiful Creatures puts a fresh spin on hard rock and heavy metal.
This kind of honest rock 'n' roll never goes away and never will; it
just takes on new shapes and forms.

The universe loves pure rock 'n' roll bands and will open its arms to
welcome the long-awaited Beautiful Creatures album DEUCE on August 23,
2005. This is the band's first release for Spitfire Records, an
imprint of Eagle Rock Entertainment.

DEUCE is a full-blooded hard rock/heavy metal album full of
in-your-face attitude and punchy, blast-furnace songs. The first
single from DEUCE will be "Anyone." The album also includes "Thanks,"
"Freedom," "Unforgiven," "Save Me," "Empty," "Never," "Super Fly,"
"Straight To Hell," "The Unknown," "Ton Of Lead," "Brand New Day" and
"I Won't Be The One."

DEUCE, which was produced and mixed by Anthony Focx, is Beautiful
Creatures' second album. It's been four years since its self-titled
debut was released. The record company shakeups and band member
changes that happened shortly after that would destroy lesser bands.
Not Beautiful Creatures.

Beautiful Creatures' vocalist Joe LeSte, rhythm guitarist Anthony
Focx, lead guitarist Mark Simpson, bass guitarist Kenny Kweens and
drummer Timmy Russell are excited about the return of the band.

"It took a long time to complete DEUCE because we didn't want to have
any throwaway songs on it," LeSte says. "It's a very well-rounded
album and we're very happy with it. We're all focused and have a very
positive attitude."

"We're all about perseverance," he continues. "You have to remember
that when our first album came out, there was no Darkness or Velvet
Revolver, and we endured being a 'rock band.' Yet we played with Kiss,
then we played on Ozzfest and got a great reception and then toured
for another year."

The rabid, overwhelmingly positive reaction Beautiful Creatures
received from its early fans even exceeded what the veteran members
had experienced in their previous bands. LeSte was the lead vocalist
with Bang Tango and Simpson (a new addition to the band along with
Russell) was the lead guitarist with Flotsam And Jetsam, but Beautiful
Creatures sounds nothing like them.

Big plans are afoot for a major tour to promote DEUCE. Beautiful
Creatures will be performing some radio shows including August 27th
Motorycycle Mayhem in Fresno with Lit.

"Beautiful Creatures is a gang," LeSte says. "We're a team. We put our
heart and soul into everything."

site, it actually looks wrong because we've also heard about a new
two-CD/one-DVD collection called ANTHRALOGY: THE BEST OF ANTHRAX
(1985-1991) that's due out in Canada through Universal. The two CDs
match what's listed above, and then the DVD has this track listing:
"Metal Thrashing Mad" (live in Germany), "Madhouse," "Indians," "Armed
And Dangerous" (live in London), "Among The Living" (live in London),
"Caught In A Mosh" (live in London), "I Am The Law," "I'm The Man,"
"Antisocial," "Who Cares Wins," "Belly Of The Beast," "Got The Time,"
"In My World," "Bring The Noise" (featuring Public Enemy). Bonus -
"Antisocial" (Performance Version), "Madhouse" (MTV Version), "I'm The
Man" (Live Montage), Band Video Commentary, DTS & Dolby 5.1 Surround
Sound. - Tim]

-Just in case this hasn't been invented yet, I'd like to propose my
version of the "Rock Star: INXS" Drinking Game. Here goes... In the
basic game, you drink every time hostess Brooke Burke says "rock,"
i.e., "rocker," "rock out," "rock supergroup INXS," etc. In the
advanced game, you play the basic game but with a twist: you also
drink every time *anyone* throws the devil horns. Trust me, you'll be
under the table faster than the yak herder at the beginning of
"Raiders Of The Lost Ark" if you play this.

-Not much time to write anything else. I really, really hope to get
reviews done soon on the new releases from Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron
Maiden, Elias Viljanen, and a few others. See ya!

-Now in my current playlist: Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force - UNLEASH
THE FURY (Spitfire), Elias Viljanen - LEADSTAR (Lion Music),
HammerFall - CHAPTER V: UNBENT, UNBOWED, UNBROKEN (Nuclear Blast
Records), Stratovarius - s/t (Sanctuary/Mayan).
