VonGoober RADIO almost makes it 5 years!

4 months short of a 5 year run, VonGoober RADIO has called it a day.

It has been a very interesting run full of ups and downs, but it was
mostly positive. I've met a lot of great people and hope to stay in
touch with everyone. Hopefully everyone came away learning about
kickass bands they'd never heard of before and that metal music is the
real beneficiary of what the station did for all this time.

The station is now dead because I couldn't afford the $400 to replace
the dead broadcasting computer to be able to continue "live"
broadcasting. I just lost almost all interest in the station when I
had to go back to "basic" mode broadcasting through Live365. It
limited the station to around 200 songs (compared to the almost 5,000
that were in rotation in "live" mode), there were constant commercials
& no ability to request songs.

The real death blow came because I also can't afford the $100 to renew
my webspace & domain in June. The website and the forums will remain
till about the middle of June when the renewal is due.

So, it's been real. I'm not good at goodbye's, so I'll just say "Rock
On"!

LOS ANGELES -- Liquor And Poker Music has set a July 25th release date
for the sophomore recording by Toronto rock quartet Crash Kelly, the
Gilby Clarke-produced ELECTRIC SATISFACTION. A track from the new
album, "Ride The Wire," is currently posted on the band's MySpace

A modern yet timeless mix of glam, classic rock and power-pop,
ELECTRIC SATISFACTION is the follow-up to Crash Kelly's acclaimed
debut, PENNY PILLS. That album was supported by gigs throughout not
only their native Canada, but also America, England, Ireland, Holland
and Germany, where the band performed with the likes of W.A.S.P., Skid
Row, Alice Cooper, The Quireboys, Enuff Z'Nuff, Pretty Boy Floyd,
Faster Pussycat, Quiet Riot, Union, Fireball Ministry and The Black
Halos along the way. Additionally, the group showcased at SXSW
(Austin, Texas), CMW (Toronto), NXNE (Toronto), PopKomm (Berlin,
Germany) and CMJ (New York City).

The summer of 2005 saw Crash Kelly support legendary Swedish glam-
punks Backyard Babies on a full North American tour, after which they
returned home to perform a sold-out hometown show alongside Motley
Crue. That same season, front man Sean Kelly was named a finalist in
Guitar Player magazine's "Guitar Hero 2005" competition, which led to
a live performance before such six-string luminaries as Joe Satriani
and Steve Lukather at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

By year's end, the group -- which also includes guitarist Allister
Thompson, drummer Kevin Taylor and bassist Jordan Michael Stewart --
had put the finishing touches on its second album, produced by former
Guns N' Roses guitarist (and star of CBS' "Rock Star: Supernova")
Clarke. In addition to his stints in GNR, Heart and The MC5, Clarke
has produced albums by acts as varied as Bullets and Octane, The Bronx
and L.A. Guns, and as evident from his four acclaimed solo recordings,
he's a kindred musical spirit to Crash Kelly. The studio pairing was
magical, and Clarke even called in his former GNR/Col. Parker bandmate
Teddy "Zig-Zag" Andreadis to contribute piano and keyboards to select
tracks.

"The new album is all about honing in on the spirit of the rock album
as a collection of great songs," Sean explains. "Gilby had a huge
role, for not only did he have all of the necessary tools to make the
album I'd always heard in my head, he has a huge musical personality,
great ears and a rock n' roll heart. He went above and beyond his
duties in making a record we could all be proud of. We share many of
the same musical references, and he knew exactly what I was talking
about when I mentioned a certain Starz recording or the guitar sound
on a particular Thin Lizzy song. Plus, when you're trading solos with
Gilby Clarke, you can't help but feel that all is right in your rock
n' roll universe!"

On May 1, Crash Kelly kicked off their ELECTRIC SATISFACTION tour in
grand style with a series of Canadian arena shows alongside Alice
Cooper (whom they honor on the album with a cover of the Alice classic
"Cold Ethyl"). "Playing with Alice Cooper in an arena setting was the
culmination of many teenage fantasies, and it really felt like the
beginning of the next phase for Crash Kelly," Sean says. "The songs I
write are designed to capture the feeling of the best of the '70s
arena rock giants, and to actually share the stage with one of those
giants was an immense pleasure and privilege."

In addition to the shows alongside Alice Cooper, the band is
performing a series of Jagermeister- and B.C. Rich-sponsored "Alice
Cooper Afterparty" gigs throughout the month. Further touring will

-DeadStar Assembly's UNSAVED To Be Released July 11th 2006 By PURE
Records & The A Label

The violent industrial mayhem of DeadStar Assembly is about to set the
anti-mainstream ablaze for a second arson with the release of their
sophomore record, UNSAVED. The troupe of musical avant-gardes has
returned with 15 new tracks of sonic mastery and electronic combustion
to deliver a testimonial of struggle, devotion and finally
perseverance. Like demented seraphim, DSA's poisonous blend of
death-pop/industrial rock is inscribed with no apologies, and as heard
on UNSAVED, they don't intend to start.

UNSAVED was written, recorded, and sweated over as an entirely
collaborative band effort. The album of chaotic synths and havoc-
reeking melodies features all live instrumentation with additional
electronic percussion and digital effects weaved amongst it. Produced
by DSA themselves and Jeremy Staska (Poison The Well, New Found Glory,
Remembering Never), UNSAVED is a drastically personal album; ensuing
the perfect combination of therapeutic lyricism, razorblade vocals
striving to end cultural assimilation and surgically crafted melodies
performed to bleed rather than stitch. It's a middle finger to the
mundane and a red light to ignite your inner deviance.

Tracks such as the commanding "Dejected" feature attention-demanding
guitars, swirling synths and authoritative vocals that are determined
to raise a de-generation of jaded and misguided to their spike-heeled
feet. It's having sex on an induced high and its wandering home alone
through desolation as the sun is rising. The track "Pure Blue" could
easily serve as the theme song for UNSAVED, as its menacing guitars
and powerful drum loops envelope into nightmarish choruses and sonic
twists, provoking chills from the fear of the unknown. The song is
entirely paralyzing in its fullness and angst-ridden lyrics, providing
the anthem for an album laced with crimson substance. "Bled," the
smoky ballad of the album, masks the face of a monotonous society and
acts as a tourniquet for the fresh wounds cut as a result of it. As
singer Dearborn screams, "I am more than nothing."

DeadStar Assembly sold over 10,000 units of their self-titled debut
album independently and gained the respect and loyalty of South
Florida's underground music scene with such soul scorching hits as
"Normal," "Breathe For Me" and the completely innovative cover of
"Send Me An Angel." With the help of PURE Records in the United States
and Berlin's The A Label, DSA are ready to further infect the globe
with UNSAVED.

UNSAVED is set for a July 11th release in the United States on PURE
Records (RED Distribution) and a late May/early June release in Europe
via The A Label, but DSA plan to spread their musical delirium to the
masses right now. The band just wrapped up a US tour in March and
April with Canadian industrial heavy hitters, The Birthday Massacre,
followed by more dates with the release of UNSAVED.

is announcing its second tour with legendary guitarist Yngwie

"'In The Summertime' was my favorite song when I was three," begins
Sherinian. "Billy started singing it one day at soundcheck, and we
started jamming on it. We agreed it would be a great song to cover one
day. Slash was the perfect guitarist for this track."

Wylde also gives his vocal talents a go, appearing on the brooding
"Man With No Name," which resembles classic-era Ozzy Osbourne.

"Zakk sounds like vintage Ozzy on this track," acknowledges Sherinian.
"He sings and plays great on this song."

Sherinian, who can currently be seen on tour with Yngwie Malmsteen,
has made a name for himself with stints in such high-profile acts such
as Kiss, Alice Cooper, and Dream Theater. His last release was 2004's
MYTHOLOGY, which garnered worldwide acclaim from both fans and press
alike, utilizing the talents of Zakk Wylde, Steve Stevens (Billy
Idol), Steve Lukather (Toto) and Allan Holdsworth.

~~SEPULTURA On "Headbanger's Ball"!

Next week Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green will be making the trek
from Brazil to New York City to be guests of MTV2's "Headbanger's
Ball." Look for an edited version of the controversial video for
"Convicted In Life" to appear on the show soon. A confirmed date for
the guest appearance and video premiere will be announced shortly. In
the meantime, DANTE XXI remains in the Top 15 of the Metal radio

On Saturday June 10th, Candice Night, the lovely frontwoman of
renaissance rockers Blackmore's Night will be crowned Official 2006
Queen Of The Fairies at the Western Pennsylvania Fairie Festival. (For

returned home from an exciting two weeks overseas in which they
performed to audiences in Russia, Prague and a sold out crowd in

September 12th marks the official release date of THE SICKNESS WITHIN
from Danish assailants Hatesphere! This is the band's full length
debut for SPV / Steamhammer and follows THE KILLING EP which was
released May 2005. Having been released in the band's native country
last year, THE SICKNESS WITHIN won both the award for "Album of the
Year" and "Best Production" at the Danish Metal Awards. BW&BK calls it
"high grade retro-thrash." We call it a five-pronged jackhammer of

MSG - MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP - 25th anniversary - TALES OF ROCK 'N'
ROLL - 28. April 2006

Michael Schenker is celebrating his 25th anniversary this year and
fittingly, he's releasing a new album TALES OF ROCK 'N' ROLL with 19
brand new songs. All of the MSG singers have put in parts to this
album, Gary Barden, Graham Bonnett, Leif Sunden, Kelly Keeling, Chris
Logan and naturally the current singer, Jari. The actual release will
be accompanied with the TALES OF ROCK 'N' ROLL world tour and
supported by label colleagues Nikki Puppet.

Guitarist Michael Schenker is known as one of the prime and most
celebrated guitarists in the world's Rock scene. His flowing play, his
quickened variants of fiery Rock-Licks, powerful Power-Riffs and
classical melodies have made him an idol for a whole generation of
new, up and coming musicians. Whether as member of the Scorpions or
the British Rock formation UFO, whether as a part of the brilliant if
short-lived Contraband or as solo artist, for example, once again with
his own formation MSG: Schenker has been a part of many of the
classics written in Rock history.

For the new MSG team, which on May 4 begins its "Tales Of Rock 'n'
Roll World Tour 2006" in Istanbul, comes alongside Schenker the
guitarist / keyboard player Wayne Findley, drummer Pete Holmes, Bass
player Rev Jones and the Finnish singer Jari Tiura. This major tour
will take the Michael Schenker Group through countries such as
Germany, England, Holland, France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Austria,
Turkey, Belgium and Switzerland. The fans can await a furious "best

Holy Moses - NO MATTER WHAT'S THE CAUSE - Re-Release 28. April 2006

Forget everything that you've heard from Holy Moses up until now, then
NO MATTER WHAT'S THE CAUSE is totally different!! The Bass part was
taken over by no less than S.O.D. / Nuclear Assault and Brutal Truth
member Dan Lilker. The lineup was also completed for the NO MATTER in
1994, with the Rykers Drummer Sven Herwig (also to be heard on the
Reborn Dogs album). The guitars were as always played in by Andy
Classen, who also for the first time took over a large portion of the
main vocals alongside myself.

NO MATTER..., this is precise, calculated brutality in a sometimes
crazy tempo that's bordering on chaos. This borderline is never
crossed though due to the capturing grooves that put their mark on
this album. NO MATTER WHAT'S THE CAUSE is not an album that is to be
listened to as background music as you will be forced to intensively
listen and take notice! This CD stresses many mental capacities and
although NO MATTER... is tough, a growing hunger develops for the
maelstrom of Beats, Grooves and "In your face" Grunts. It is shown on
NO MATTER..., what capable musicians from the section of brachial
music can do, without leaving the basis, and with this the brutality,
of their beliefs even a little. NO MATTER... has not become a
progressive and minutely detailed album, but a post-industrial, post-
hardcore, post-death metal piece of work, anno 1994. The cover
version, "Hate Is Just A 4 Letter Word" from Shock Therapy is today
just as then an individual piece of work. On the original tracks you
have the luxury of hearing Dan Lilker playing in piano tracks for the
first ever time, and that is something to be enjoyed and not to be
missed.

In 1994, hardly anyone would have awaited such an album from Holy
Moses and looking back today, I don't think there will ever be an
album from us quite like it again. NO MATTER... has its place in the
history of Holy Moses as being a special album which at the time lead
me to re-think the path my life was taking. Temple Of The Absurd was
then my top priority but also Holy Moses and the NO MATTER... was a
major part of my life, which was going through a very difficult phase.
Today we still play in our live set: "Hate Is Just A 4 Letter Word"
and "I Feel Sick" -- both of them being my favourites on the album. NO
MATTER... showed me though, where the rest of the band with Holy Moses
wanted to go, and that this direction was not the one I myself wanted
to follow. What followed during the studio phase was my decision to
let Holy Moses rest for a bit. This "bit" turned out to be five years.

Original Holy Moses -- up until the NO MATTER... album -- this is what
lead me to take the wishes of the Holy Moses fans to heart, and to put
further old demo tracks onto this re-release plus a further live track
from Wacken Open Air 2005, which Sabina would like to dedicate to her
good friend of many years and crew member (lighting) Jaqueline, who
died two years ago through cancer. The original demo from back then is
completely destroyed. (After all it lay in an old box for nearly 25
years.) Michael Hankel has still been able to save nearly all of the
material from this tape with only the titles "My Brain" and "Smokin'
And Drinking" being completely lost. The rest we've now put onto a CD
where Michael Hankel has done the job of making the old material as
listenable as possible. The demo tape SATAN'S ANGEL was recorded with
a microphone and old tape recorder in the cellar of the Inda Gymnasium
(Holy Moses' rehearsal room and school) at the end of 1981.

Obscenity - 09. Juni 2006

Obscenity have been playing classic Death Metal since their formation
in 1989 and with this, the band from Oldenburg, Germany are known as
one of the founders of this brachial scene. With their debut album
SUFFOCATED TRUTH the guys from northern Germany set the direction of
their music in stone: Brutal, death steel with a large portion of
melody, a massive guitar wall, angry blast beats with mega deep growls
from the singer Oli. Over six albums, obscenity have continually
refined their style and the last piece of work, COLD BLOODED MURDER
brought the band their breakthrough. They appeared at festivals such
as the No Mercy Tour 2002, With Full Force 2002, Wacken Open Air 2003
and even went on tour with Six Feet Under.

Now, with their new album WHERE SINNERS BLEED Obscenity are aiming to
storm their way to the top. This album blasts with the fury of an atom
bomb and not only shows that the guys from Oldenburg are in top form
but also surprisingly open to new influences. Who would have thought
that these veterans had it in them to make such a leap in development?
To the over-brachial Death Metal come classic Thrash influences which
let their style sound fresh and modern, the powerful acoustic and
Oli's vocals gain through this a decided variety and flexibility. The
well-matured songs have been worked out down to the last detail making

a hundred plus players, that Jani Lane had to have. Lorina nailed
every song set before him with complete accuracy and grace.

Lorina, originally from Boston, Massachusetts, started taking private
lessons at six. It was clear to his instructors that he had a talent
well beyond his age, which led him to relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada to
pursue his music career at the age of 12.

They played "Thunder Kiss 65" and Zombie knew John 5 was the right

After reading some of the background information on NU INSTRUMETAL, I
was a little worried about what this would sound like. Never a fan of
nu-metal, I could only imagine a mess of rap grooves, grungy hard rock
and disjointed lead guitar wailings; I needn't have concerned myself,
however, as NU INSTRUMETAL has a lot more in common with Joe Satriani
than Korn. Doppler, Inc. is guitarist Doug Doppler's latest project
and was created to bring instrumental guitar music into the 21st
Century by incorporating more modern elements in with the shred, such
as down-tuned guitars and sound effects. Several of the highlights on
the CD include the creative use of the vocoder, as on the excellent
melodicism of "Wicked" and the cool rhythms of "Funky Armadillo."
Killer tracks like "Starcrossed Lovers," "Bumpin' Grind," and "Five
Hi" assure that fans of well-constructed guitar solos will not be
disappointed, and watch for some great guest spots by no less than
Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm and Brad Gillis. Doug was a student of Joe
Satriani, and Joe's influence can definitely be heard throughout NU
INSTRUMETAL, but Doug blends in other influences as well and injects
plenty of fresh sounding original concepts into the pieces. The mix on
NU INSTRUMETAL is awesome, with Doug utilizing an outstanding tone and
an array of interesting sound effects -- not to mention playing with
a
more-than-capable band. Following instrumental groundbreakers like
Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai is no easy task, but Doug
