-Eldritch's NEIGHBOURHELL Receives American Release

LIVORNO, Italy -- Italian exports Eldritch wowed fans at Chicago's
Powerfest a couple months ago with their first-ever North American
performance and now the band is set to equally impress fans and soon-
to-be-fans with its latest release, NEIGHBOURHELL, on Limb Music.

Playing a melodic brand of powerful thrash metal, Eldrich combines
equal parts aggression and progression with killer riffs and
unforgettable melodies on NEIGHBOURHELL.

"This record is much more mature, catchier, and heavier we ever did
before," said vocalist Terence Holler. "It's a big step forward."

Though more of an underground cult act in North America, Eldritch is
no stranger to the metal scene, making music since its earliest demo
in 1991. After signing with Limb Music, Eldritch released its debut,
SEEDS OF RAGE, in 1995. In all, NEIGHBOURHELL is the band's sixth
album.

Eldritch has twice appeared at the Gods Of Metal, Italy's largest
metal festival and also headlined the first day of Italy's popular
Independent Rock Festival Badia Rock, in addition to playing
successful European tours with Angra, Pain Of Salvation, and
Threshold, but the Chicago gig fulfilled one of the band's biggest
dreams.

"We played for many years in Europe and our dream was one day to play
in the number one nation in the world for music," said Holler. "It was
really exciting for us. There were people traveling from all the
states to see us play and we sold out of all of our merchandise. We
played a great show with songs from all six of our albums, for about
two hours of music and the crowd wanted more."

NEIGHBOURHELL was mastered by Christian Schmid and R.D. Liapakis from
the Music Factory.

-Merendine Atomiche To Release RAW On August 21st 2006

Veteran Italian thrash metal stalwart Merendine Atomiche is prepared
to present their most visceral and accomplished work to date: RAW. On
August 21st, 2006, Mausoleum Records will unleash RAW on the world.
This testament to the eleven year career of Merendine Atomiche is both
a step forward in the evolution of the band, as well as an excellent
point of introduction for those not yet acquainted with their music.

RAW is Merendine Atomiche's second full length album. Their 2003
release WALK ACROSS FIRE, along with their demo, mini CD, and tribute
to Metallica, established the band's powerful sound, mixing a classic
thrash metal style with elements of hardcore and pure heavy metal. RAW
brings that style to the next level. "Despite good reviews and a
positive response to our last record, we were not satisfied," says
drummer Luca Cerardi. "We wanted to do something even better. After
two years of hard work, the result is RAW." Lead guitarist David
Bisson adds, "For me this album represents the new sound of Merendine
Atomiche. A new beginning."

RAW was produced by prominent metal guitarist Jack Frost, who has
performed with Savatage, Seven Witches and many other bands. Frost is
a very capable producer and helped Merendine Atomiche realize their
full potential as a band.

The songs on RAW hold deep personal meanings for the members of
Merendine Atomiche. "RAW is a great album to me because I lived each
song," says vocalist Luca Zandarin. Indeed, the band worked their
fingers to the bone for two years in the studio to make sure that RAW
would be the best album possible. "Our target is to let people feel
what we felt when we were making these songs: thrash them, give them
energy and let them enjoy the music as much as possible while sending
a positive message," says rhythm guitarist Luca Securo.

Perhaps bassist Dario Bianchi explains the point of the album best:
"For me, RAW is not an album but a tale. A story about Merendine
Atomiche as friends and as a band. Our experiences, our dreams and a
musical trip into the life of five guys who are living a great
experience through music can be heard with this album."

A Track Listing For RAW Comprises:

1. In The Cage
2. Roads And Beers
3. Raw
4. Peace Means War?
5. I Want To Be A Man
6. Ocean's Shadows
7. Zero Degrees
8. Breathe The Big Apple
9. We Didn't Know
10. Shake For Me
11. 0,4 L

-Music Video Distributors Expands Into Audio And Forms New Divisions
To Be Part Of The MVD Entertainment Group

OAKS, PENNSYLVANIA -- After 19 years of specializing solely in music
video and DVD product, Music Video Distributors has expanded into CD
distribution with the formation of MVD Audio. The conglomerate will
now be known as the MVD Entertainment Group, and will consist of three
major divisions: MVD Visual, MVD Audio, and MVD Distribution. Previous
to this formation, CD distribution was not part of the MVD business
model.

"2007 will mark the 20th Anniversary of MVD; during this time we have
developed a reputation for excellent sales, marketing, reporting &
payment," said Ed Seaman, COO of MVD Entertainment Group. "Over the
years, artists, managers, labels, and studios have asked us to handle
their audio distribution. We are finally making the leap. The
infrastructure is 100% in place for MVD to handle the new category,
and the new division will be a powerful player in audio distribution."

MVD Audio

The newest division, MVD Audio, handles exclusive distribution for
audio content on CD. For its launch, MVD Audio has content agreements
with several record labels including Inakustik (Germany), Secret
Records Ltd. (UK), and Metal Mind Productions (Poland) as well as some
independent artists.

The Inakustik catalog includes hundreds of rock, folk, jazz, world,
and blues titles with initial offerings to include Bernard Allison -
MO MERCY, America - STRUTTIN' OUR STUFF, Billy Cobham - LIVE: FLIGHT
TIME, Soft Machine Legacy - LIVE AT THE NEW MORNING, and Bill Wyman's
Rhythm Kings - STRUTTIN' OUR STUFF.

Secret Records Ltd. produces live performance recordings from multiple
genres including rock, jazz, reggae, punk, ska and more. Initial
releases will include The Selector, Lee Scratch Perry and Dillinger.

"Ed Seaman and his team at MVD have represented our DVD range in the
USA since 2005; we have been impressed with the degree of enthusiasm
and professionalism that has gone into the release of each and every
one of our titles released thus far," said Stephen Mandy of Secret
Records Ltd. "MVD's decision to enter the Audio market can only be
good news for us and we are looking forward to being able to cross
merchandise our CD live soundtrack albums alongside our DVD range as
well as seeing our range of other audio titles out in the racks."

The Metal Mind Productions catalog focuses on heavy metal, hard rock,
and progressive music with initial titles including Vader - SOTHIS
(re-mastered), Behemoth - AND THE FIREST DREAM ETERNALLY, Artrosis -
IN THE FLOWER'S SHADE, Collage - CHANGES (re-mastered), Darzamat -
TRANSKARPATIA, Decapitated - THE FIRST DAMNED, Dies Irie - SCULPTURE
OF STONE, Immolation - DAWN OF POSSESSION (re-mastered + bonus
tracks), Pendragon - HISTORY: 1984 - 2000, and Yattering - LIVE
EXTERMINATION.

"After nearly 5 years of co-operation between us this is one of the
best pieces of news for me," said Tomasz Dziubinski, Managing Director
of Metal Mind Productions. "They are doing a really excellent job with
promoting and selling our DVD releases in the US market. Finally, our
wide catalogue of metal/rock/progressive rock and jazz CD releases can
be available also on American market through the best possible
company. It's a big step in the right direction. I wish MVD all the
best with the Audio launch -- their success will be also a success of
Metal Mind Productions. And as we all know, there is no other option
for them but to succeed, as they truly deserve it. MVD rules!"

MVD Audio's other early releases will include Blag Dahlia's (Dwarves)
spoken word masterpiece NINA. Dahlia says, "I was glad to hear that
the best DVD label was branching out into the realm of pure audio.
These guys know great stuff when they see it and when they hear it,
all across the musical spectrum. I'm expecting great things."

A release from alt-indie rockers Snakes & Music -- ISABELLE -- is also
slated for August. MVD Audio expects to release approximately 100 CDs
in 2006.

MVD Visual

MVD's exclusively represented Music DVD division has been re-branded
as MVD Visual. Since 1999, this division has released over 500 titles,
and is currently one of the largest producers of Music DVD in 2006.
Recent months saw important DVD releases such as Sublime Tribute -
LOOK AT ALL THE LOVE WE FOUND LIVE, New York Dolls - ALL DOLLED UP,
Andrew W.K. - WHO KNOWS: LIVE 2000 TO 2004, Poison - SEVEN DAYS LIVE,
and Robin Trower - LIVING OUT OF TIME LIVE. Later this year MVD Visual
will bow music DVDs from Blackalicious, the Bad Brains, the Queers,
Desmond Dekker, Camper Van Beethoven/Cracker, just to name a few.
Also, MVD has recently celebrated the four-year anniversary of the
launch of their subdivision entitled Eclectic DVD Distribution, which
releases independent, rare and unusual films on DVD. Some of these
titles include "Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter," Jim Breuer - HEAVY METAL
COMEDY, and "Black Christmas."

MVD Distribution

The wholesale operation of MVD is now called MVD Distribution. This
division is a one-stop for Music DVD, carrying the best selection of
the format in the world, and further offers a very large selection of
non-music DVD. MVD Distribution executes the physical fulfillment of
its products (including MVD Audio and MVD Visual), servicing major
chains, distributors, one-stops, online retail, and independent
retail. MVD Distribution runs its 20,000 square foot warehouse in
Oaks, PA.

Appointments

In response to MVD Entertainment Group's growth in the first fiscal
quarter of 2006, and anticipated growth for the future, there are new
appointments of key executives. These include Michael DeMonte to Vice
President of Sales, Dave Hall to Vice President of Operations, and
Zach Fischel to Vice President of Marketing. Ed Seaman becomes Chief
Operating Officer (COO) and Eve Edwards becomes Chief Financial
Officer (CFO). Tom Seaman remains as CEO and President.

"As we foresaw many years ago, music video is alive and well as a
major component of the music industry, as much as it is a component of
the video industry," said Tom Seaman. "This move into the audio area
is a natural consequence in MVD's development. There will be more
exciting moves in the future for MVD."

-So we're all watching VH1's "SuperGroup" with Sebastian Bach, Ted
Nugent, Scott Ian, Evan Seinfeld, and Jason Bonham right? In this
week's episode the guys temporarily changed their name from Fist to
Godwar ("Dude, that's Rawdog backwards!"), but not until after the
graphic artist they hired had already worked up some logo sketches for
Fist. Oops. Vocalist Bach wasn't sold on Godwar though, because it's
too depressing, and he pushed hard for Savage Animal ("Dude, that
rolls off my tongue! Rock is a savage animal! It rolls off my
tongue!") -- but everyone else including manager Doc Maghee thought it
was silly. At the 11th hour they all agreed on Damnocracy, which Bach
came up with during a heated band discussion. (I believe guitarist
Scott Ian first said something about "damn democracies," and then Bach
went with it.) The whole "What's our name?" thing was pretty funny to
watch, but at the same time you kind of understand the pressure to
come up with something good because of the limited amount of time --
12 days -- everyone has to assemble the group, write songs, rehearse,
promote a show, and actually play the show. It's interesting to see
all the different personalities. Ian and Bonham are like the quiet
voices of reason, Bach is the hyper 13-year-old, Seinfeld tries to
keep everything mellow and cordial, and Nugent has been gradually
getting more impatient and is now trying to take over. As usual you
don't know how much is true reality and how much is staged reality,
but I have to think it's at least 80/20 or so. :)

SECTION A - PARALLEL LIVES (C-) Lion Music, 2006

Boy, Lion Music sure seems to throw around heavy-handed terms like
"Supergroup," "Legendary," and "Masterpiece" an awful lot on their Web
site and their promotional materials. Sweden's Section A is described
as "progressive metal's new supergroup" (maybe it is to those who are
more involved in the prog scene, but other than guitarist Torben
Enevoldsen, whom I have only heard of in passing, the names of the
band members mean zip to me personally) and PARALLEL LIVES (which is
mistakenly labeled as PARALLEL WORLDS on my promotional copy, by the
way) is hailed as "an exciting progressive metal experience that is
set to put Section A in the upper echelon of the genre." Sounds good
so far but this disc has been kicking around my house for about 90
days now and even though I've listened to it dozens of times it has
left very little impression on me except to say "Ehhh, it's OK, I
guess." PARALLEL LIVES (or WORLDS, take your pick, I'm still not sure
which one is actually correct) is very well played and spotlessly
produced but in the end it seems kinda bland and paint-by-numbers to
me. I've got nothing against this style and the storyline -- about a
guy who can travel between parallel dimensions in his sleep -- is
promising as well, but without a lyric sheet to really get a feel for
what's happening, I couldn't follow it worth a damn. In the end I'm
left with eight tracks of dry-as-dust "progressive metal" that
unfortunately (for me at least) leans more towards the progressive
than the metal, and at times even sounds more AOR than progressive. I
am sure these guys will find an appreciative audience among the
ProgPower crowd but unfortunately they didn't do much for me. Move
along folks, nothing more to see here! - Keith Abt

VENTURIA - THE NEW KINGDOM (B) Lion Music, 2006

Coming to us from France is this young progressive metal outfit with
their debut album THE NEW KINGDOM. Venturia play a rather unique and
often captivating mix of metal, pop and prog rock, incorporating male/
female vocal interplay and tight musicianship to strong effect.
Opening with the title track, you immediately notice the emphasis on
melodic songwriting, effective vocal delivery and powerful band
interaction. Guitarist Charly Sahona is a new breed shredder with
lightning fast chops and a rhythmic style that leaves room for the
keyboards, which he also plays with guest keyboardist Kevin Codfert
(Adagio). Capitalizing on the success of bands such as Lacuna Coil and
Nightwish, Venturia utilize female vocals to complement lead vocalist
Marc Ferreira, with Lydie Robin's smooth voice often a nice contrast
on songs like "Words Of Silence" and "Take Me Down." The band is
rounded out by excellent fretless bassist Thomas James and precision
drummer Diego Rapacchietti, whose contributions can clearly be heard
on standout track "Fallen World (Is There A Reason?)" and the album's
lone instrumental "Candle Of Hope Through A Night Of Fears." For me
the production was somewhat thin in places, as I would have especially
liked to have heard a fuller guitar sound. Small complaint though,
with a little honing of their overall sound Venturia appear to have
all the necessary skills to be the next big thing in prog metal. I
look forward to hearing more from them... - Neal Woodall
