Lordi, Finland's monster rock n' roll extravaganza and winners of the
2006 Eurovision award, have signed to The End Records for North
America.

Since winning Eurovision Lordi's popularity has grown to gargantuan
heights with the band conquering numerous European charts and a six-
week sold out tour of Europe. Now since signing with The End Records,
the band has set their sights on North America and anticipates their
success will continue across the pond.

The band's most recent album, THE AROCKALYPSE, will be released March

BIO:

Monster rock n' roll outfit Lordi -- national treasures back home in
their native Finland - wants everyone in the world, nay, the universe
to know who they are. Bit by bit, Lordi is making this monsterican

Since winning the 2006 Eurovision Award in May, Lordi's dream has

German Power Thrashers Symphorce have finished recording their highly

-Three More Bands Confirmed For Sweden Rock Festival 2007

Here comes a little christmas present to all of you.

We can now proudly present Canadian power/thrash-masters Annihilator,
American cult legends in southern rock, Point Blank and Danish
dynamite in the shape of Pretty Maids.

We will now close down the office until January 8, but you will still

ANNIHILATOR (CAN)
Vancouver's Annihilator -- all but synonymous with guitar wiz Jeff
Waters -- were an instant smash hit with the metallers of the world
when their first album ALICE IN HELL appeared in 1989. Most fans would
agree that the band has had its ups and downs after the release of
this US-power/thrash metal masterpiece, but also that Annihilator's
most recent albums definitely rank among their creative highpoints. A
while ago the band made their all in all second visit to Sweden at the
34,000 Ton Metal-cruise. This obviously was not nearly enough fo
Annihilator, since they are now heading for SRF 2007. (We recommend:
ALICE IN HELL; NEVER, NEVERLAND; CRITERIA FOR A BLACK WIDOW.)

POINT BLANK (US)
Sometimes dreams do come true! In the middle of the seventies ZZ Top's
manager Bill Ham took on another band in the same genre, blues-based
Southern rock. This band also hailing from Texas. They group released
six albums before throwing in the towel in the early eighties. They
had in the end changed from heavy southern rock to quite lightweight
AOR. In 2005 they reformed for a benefit concert, and next year they
will appear at Sweden Rock! Album tips: POINT BLANK, SECOND SEASON,
and THE HARD WAY.

PRETTY MAIDS (DK)
On their new album WAKE UP TO THE REAL WORLD Danish band Pretty Maids
prove that they, despite some time off and a change of drummer, could
deliver yet another album of absolute top quality. After having
witnessed the band live myself at Amager Bio in Copenhagen about a
week ago, I can verify Pretty Maids are more vital than ever. They
still mix their classic melodic hard rock with a dose of crushingly
heavy riff and a couple of up-tempo rockers. Danish dynamite, you bet!
Recommended listening: WAKE UP TO THE REAL WORLD, SIN-DECADE and RED,
HOT AND HEAVY.

-Winger On Tour 2007 -- First US Tour In A Decade

HOLLYWOOD -- The founding members of Winger will embark on a six-week
US tour for the first time in over a decade. Winger members Kip Winger
(bass/vocals), Reb Beach (guitar), Rod Morgenstein (drums), Jon Roth
(guitars/vocals, a Winger member since 1993's PULL album) and newcomer
Cenk Eroglu (keyboards/vocals) will be seen across the US.

Recently the band released their first album, IV, with all founding
members of Winger reunited on Shrapnel Records. "The new Winger
album," explains Kip, "starts where PULL left off and moves into new
directions. It mixes some classic Hard Rock like Van Halen and early

-Symphonic Rock's First Couple's Albums Chart At New Music Weekly

LOS ANGELES -- The CD releases GEMINI by symphonic rock vocalist Lana
Lane and HOMMAGE SYMPHONIQUE by Lane's keyboardist / producer /
husband Erik Norlander have entered the New Music Weekly College Chart
at #10 and #8, respectively. The airplay charting follows on the heels
of two other Norlander project releases -- first the Erik Norlander &
Friends DVD/CD release LIVE IN ST. PETERSBURG and the two-CD release
REVOLUTION ROAD by Rocket Scientists, both charting 1-3 months ago.
Norlander is also the keyboardist and a core member of Rocket
Scientists.

Lana Lane's GEMINI is an album of classic rock covers from the '60s
and '70s featuring the backing musicians Vinny Appice (d), Tony
Franklin (b), George Lynch (g), Mark McCrite (g, v) and Erik Norlander
(k), along with Kelly Keeling providing additional duet and harmony
vocals. Gemini is the astrological symbol for twins, and since this is
Lana's second album of all covers, the album carries the theme of
"two" throughout. Lana recorded two songs by each classic rock artist
for this release: a pair of songs each originally recorded by Cream,
Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, Heart, Jefferson Airplane and Foreigner.
Of particular note is Lana's "Pink Moon Suite" that combines the song
"Johnny Moon" -- originally recorded by Heart -- with songs from most
of "Side One" of Pink Floyd's landmark DARK SIDE OF THE MOON album.

Erik Norlander's HOMMAGE SYMPHONIQUE is an album of progressive rock
covers recorded by Erik along with Gregg Bissonette (d), Don Schiff
(b), and Mark McCrite (g), with Kelly Keeling handling all of the
vocal duties. Erik employed a small ensemble of acoustic instruments
featuring Jon Pappenbrook (trumpets, flugelhorn), Eric Jorgensen
(trombones), Mike Alvarez (cello) and David Schiff (woodwinds). David
is the brother of Don Schiff, and in addition to Don's NS/Stick work
on the album, he also fills out the acoustic string ensemble with the
new Bowed Guitar instrument. Erik's choice of covers reflects his own
broad musical taste, performing songs originally recorded by ELP, ELO,
Yes, Rick Wakeman, King Crimson, Procol Harum, Jethro Tull, and Chuck
Mangione. The last artist may sound the most surprising, but Erik's
stirring rendition of Mangione's "Children Of Sanchez" brings this
jazz/fusion classic more into Erik's world of symphonic progressive
rock supported by his seasoned and highly versatile band.

Lana Lane's GEMINI and Erik Norlander's HOMMAGE SYMPHONIQUE albums
follow the already acclaimed two-CD release, REVOLUTION ROAD, from
Erik's band Rocket Scientists. The Rocket Scientists musicians appear
throughout these two new titles continuing the collaboration and
bringing it to new heights. Like Rocket Scientists' REVOLUTION ROAD,
these two new CDs are distributed in North America and Europe by
ProgRock Records which continues another successful collaboration with
Erik and Lana's Think Tank Media label. Lana Lane's GEMINI and Erik
Norlander's HOMMAGE SYMPHONIQUE were released on November 23, 2006 on
the Avalon label in Japan and officially on January 30, 2007 on Think

The gothic metal band Tunes Of Grey released their first demo,
entitled FADING TO GREY, which has the following five tracks:

The band'S influences come from the "Finnish school" formed by bands

passional and romantic touch present in the literature of J.W. Goethe
and fatalist of Herman Hesse, forming the identity which is presented
in the form of Tunes Of Grey.

The demo is already receiving good response from the fans and press.
In the first review, made by the All The Bangers webzine (

score, the CD was described as "great" and "catchy, but melancholic."
Great comments were also made about the musicians and production.

After an extended hiatus that left many fans wondering if they'd ever
see the group up and running again, melodic metallists Lillian Axe
have risen from the ashes and are preparing their first all-new studio
album since 1993's highly regarded PSYCHOSCHIZOPHRENIA. Led by
founding guitarist Steve Blaze, Lillian Axe earned the respect of
"Headbanger's Ball" viewers coast to coast with such releases as
1988's self-titled debut and 1992's POETIC JUSTIC -- the latter of

and not always easy to put in a nice little package with a bow on top.
I met Tim Koukos through my longtime friend and associate Chip

perfect home for Lillian. Tim immediately was straightforward and told
me of his label and plans for the future."

aligned union between label and band. "The more I talked to Steve the
more I could see were this image of the band that I have in my mind
comes from. I don't think I've met a more modest man in this industry

Seals on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Key Club in Hollywood,
California. Proceeds will be used to oppose the largest slaughter of
marine mammals on the planet and to raise funds and awareness to end
the horrific and bizarre annual massacre.

This year in Canada over 335,000 defenseless Canadian baby seals were
brutally clubbed or shot to death for their pelts, their bodies left
on the ice to rot. Over 42% are horrifically skinned alive. The goal
in planning a benefit concert is to first raise funds to help
Harpseals.org continue their efforts to rescue the Baby Harp Seals in
Canada.

Hosting the benefit concert will be Southern California Harpseals.org
with many celebrity supporters and attendees expected. Confirmed music
performances are Grammy nominated rock band Great White, Hot AC
Breakthrough Artist of 2006 (NMW) Jak Paris with special guest "Reba"
star Scarlett Pomers, and NBC's "Star Tomorrow" Top 5 Finalist, Rock

-Metal Veterans Launch 3 Legged Dogg, Issue Debut Album FROZEN SUMMER
Via Perris Records

Judging by the band members' resumes, it's understandable to assume
that 3 Legged Dogg would reflect old school '80s metal. After all, its
members are veterans of such world renowned metallic institutions as
Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio, Quiet Riot, David Lee Roth, and Bonham.
But upon hearing the quintet's debut full length for Perris Records,
FROZEN SUMMER, the famous saying "You should never judge a book by its
cover" comes into play, as tracks such as "Frozen Summer" and "Give
And Take Away" have a decidedly modern hard rock edge.

Formed out of a California collective known as the Hollywood Allstarz,
Appice and West are 3 Legged Dogg's founding members, while Bain,
Cavazo, and Young signed on soon after. And according to Appice, the
group's chemistry was instant. "It works great. Carlos has a lot of
ideas, a lot of riffs and different things we tried. Jimmy comes up
with -- out of nowhere -- different changes and certain riffs that he
wrote himself. We just basically try them and if we like them, we keep
working on them. Chas hears a vocal line, then we'll keep working on
it and develop it into a song. And then Brian Young is more of a
bluesy/rock player -- he's got a lot of different riffs."

The group plans to hopefully play their first-ever live gigs sometime
in 2007 -- which may prove tricky, since Appice has been enlisted by
Heaven & Hell (which includes Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, and Geezer
Butler) to tour for much of the year. "We were planning to go out and
do a tour in 2007, but now, the Black Sabbath thing is going to take a
lot of my time up, so everything is put on hold. We intend to do a
video in February, so we can have that at least on the Internet. I
think we'll probably end up doing some shows, because Black Sabbath
won't go all the way for eight or nine months -- there will be breaks
here and there."

Despite the tricky scheduling, Appice is confident that 3 Legged Dogg
will continue on, and begin work on their sophomore effort soon.
"We're all talking about that. We got a good response on the first
one. I think what we'll do is start getting together and write some
stuff for the next CD."

Boston metallists Meliah Rage has just secured a month's worth of
dates opening for one of the founding fathers of thrash metal, Metal
Church. The tour will also include a January 29th date at B.B. King's
Blues Club in New York City, which will see another thrash metal co-
creator, Overkill, added to the bill. "We're really excited about this
opportunity to tour with Metal Church," says guitarist Jim Koury.
"We've been fans of theirs since the beginning, and then when we
toured together in 1989 we had a great time. Our music has been
compared to theirs since our first reviews were published, and even
now, 17 years later, I'm still honored to share the stage with them."

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Metal Festival IV will be held on Jan 20, 2007,
at The Showbox in Seattle, Washington, featuring exclusive Pacific
Northwest appearances of some of the biggest names in metal.

"We are looking forward to this show," said Overkill bassist D.D.
Verni. "We have been wrapped up in the studio for the last two months
so it will be nice to get out for a bit and hit the stage again."

"Destruction is honored to return to Seattle and play the Metal Fest,"
said Destruction bassist/vocalist Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer. "I love
the city and I can't wait to meet all my friends and fans again. This
will be a blast!"

"It will be interesting to play a bigger venue this time around," said
Into Eternity guitarist/vocalist Tim Roth. "We plan on giving a high
energy show with lots of high singing and fast playing. The band is

Those who attend this highly anticipated festival will not only see
the only Pacific Northwest appearances of these bands, but they might
be among the first to witness a few song debuts.

"Our West Coast fans don't get to see us as often so we always try to
throw in a few surprises for them -- probably will do a new song or
two," said Verni. "We'll just have to see the day of show."

"Expect a hell of a Destruction show!" said Schmier. "We are true road
warriors and we always give our faithful fans a tight performance of
aggressive high-energy METAL -- right in your face! The set list will
be full of 'Thrash Anthem' songs mixed with the new hits. Some of the
old ones have never been performed live before. This will be great
fun!"

Although there aren't as many festivals in The States as there are in
Europe, all of the bands on this year's festival will agree that large
bill shows bring out the best in them no matter what country they're
playing. Fans can be assured this lineup will be in Seattle with their
game faces on.

"We play festivals all over the world the entire year," said Schmier.
"It's the greatest deal for the bands and the fans. I love the
challenge; it is pushing our performance to the absolute limit. You
have to face the best metal bands in the world -- so you better kick
some serious ass! But it's also a great big party. Many other
musicians are like brothers to me."

"Our tour lineup melded together with the likes of the legendary
Overkill and Destruction, as well as our label mates Into Eternity is
certainly going to give people a bang for their buck," God Forbid

-Megadeth Guitarist To Guest On New Lion's Share Album

Megadeth/Eidolon guitarist Glen Drover has recorded a guest solo on
the new album from Swedish melodic metal band Lion's Share. Also
scheduled to appear on the CD are drummer Richard Evensand (Chimaira,
Soilwork), guitarist Bruce Kulick (Kiss), and singer Mats Levén
(Yngwie Malmsteen, Therion, At Vance, Krux), who is responsible for
the backing vocals on the entire CD.

Lion's Share has uploaded some photos from the current mixing sessions
with Ronny Lahti (Roxette, Saigon Kick, Europe, Glenn Hughes, Electric

with the group on their third album, FALL FROM GRACE.

Lion's Share has been confirmed for this year's Sweden Rock Festival,
set to take place June 6-9 in Sölvesborg, Sweden.

Lion's Share's new album will be the group's fifth, with the first
four having been released by Century Media and Massacre Records
between 1995 and 2001. During this period, the band toured heavily
with such acts as Dio, Manowar, Motorhead, Saxon, Nevermore, Iced
Earth, U.D.O. etc.

-HeadbangerNYC.com reported former Manowar guitarist Ross The Boss
will headline a benefit memorial show for late Vyndykator guitarist
Robert "Rob" Oriani on March 24 at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ. Ross, God
Of Fire vocalist Prometheus, Symphony X bassist Mike LePond, and
Attacker drummer Mike Sabatini will perform "a set of Manowar classics
from the first six albums."

-Mania Music News reported Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki is
working on a rock opera solo project called SAANA - WARRIOR OF LIGHT.
According to Tolkki, "It will be a rock opera, but not in a sense that
many of the records using 'rock or metal opera' are. All the singers
in this are carefully chosen and I have been auditioning singers
already six months. So it's not just that I invite some famous names
to sing something. The character that sings the part really has to fit
and feel the meaning of the music and lyrics. I have spent quite some
time with the top candidates to get to know them personally. This is
very important when I will write the music. And I prefer them to be
new talents." Former Nightwish vocalist Tarja Turunen was rumored to
be one of the singers involved, but this apparently is not true.
