New Dokken Album Arrives This Summer From Rhino Records

LOS ANGELES -- Dokken ruled the charts and airwaves in the '80s with a
trio of platinum albums powered by an unforgettable mix of metal and
melody. The band is currently in the studio recording their ninth
album, and first for Rhino Records, LIGHTNING STRIKES AGAIN, set for
release this summer. In anticipation of their new album, Rhino
revisits the quartet's early days with a pair of releases packed with
unissued material.

The first release, a CD entitled FROM CONCEPTION: LIVE 1981, captures
Dokken in an early, previously unseen concert recorded before the band
signed with Elektra. The second release is the DVD debut of the band's
first home video, the platinum-certified UNCHAIN THE NIGHT, which is
expanded with unreleased videos and new extended interviews with the
band. Each will be available separately on March 13. The CD will be
offered at regular physical retail outlets for a suggested list price
of $18.98 and at all digital retail outlets for a suggested list price
of $9.99. Additionally, there will be an exclusive iTunes version
featuring a video interview with the band available for $11.99. The
DVD will be available at all regular retail outlets for a suggested
list price of $14.99. Both will also be available at

FROM CONCEPTION finds singer Don Dokken, guitarist George Lynch,
drummer Mick Brown, and bassist Jeff Pilson ripping through 10
unreleased live performances of several songs that were eventually
recorded for the band's debut album, BREAKING THE CHAINS, including
"Live To Rock (Rock To Live)" "Night Rider," the album's title track
and "Paris," a showcase for Lynch's formidable guitar heroics. The
live disc also contains three previously unreleased songs that were
excluded from their debut album because the label did not feel they
were commercial enough at the time: "Goin' Down," "Hit And Run," and
"Liar."

When Dokken released the home video UNCHAIN THE NIGHT in 1985, the
band was touring for its second platinum album, UNDER LOCK AND KEY.
The original VHS release contained on- and off-stage footage shot by
the band while on tour in Europe and America. Also included were
videos of the hit singles "It's Not Love" and "In My Dreams" as well
as "Into The Fire," "Just Got Lucky" and "Alone Again" from 1984's
TOOTH AND NAIL.

For its DVD debut, UNCHAIN THE NIGHT is expanded with four previously
unreleased videos: "Burning Like A Flame" and "Heaven Sent" from
1987's BACK FOR THE ATTACK, plus "Walk Away" a studio track added to
the 1988 live album BEAST FROM THE EAST. Also included is the video
for "Dream Warriors," a song for "A Nightmare On Elm Street III" that
featured the band and two stars from the film: Robert Englund (as
Freddy Krueger) and Emmy winner Patricia Arquette. The DVD also
features a newly recorded interview with the band.

Dokken recently returned to their Redondo Beach studio to begin work
on their ninth studio album, LIGHTNING STRIKES AGAIN. Taking its title
from a track on UNDER LOCK AND KEY, the new album will be available
this summer from Rhino Records, featuring founding members Don Dokken
and Mick Brown along with Jon Levin on guitars and Barry Sparks on
bass. The group is also plotting a world tour for later this year, set
to begin in June.

-Vixen Returns To Head Of The Class With New Studio Album LIVE & LEARN

Demolition Records will release Vixen's new studio album, LIVE &
LEARN, in the U.S. on January 30, 2007. LIVE & LEARN is the first
studio recording that features founding Vixen member, guitarist Jan
Kuehnemund, since REV IT UP was released in 1990.

Kuehnemund reformed Vixen in 2001 for the Voices Of Metal tour and
lineup had to be replaced 10 dates into the tour. With less than a
month of rehearsals, the three new members -- vocalist Jenna Sanz-
Agero, drummer Kat Kraft, and bassist Lynn Louise Lowrey --
successfully finished the tour and the lineup of Vixen has been solid
ever since.

"I was nervous at first because we had very few rehearsals, but Jenna,
Lynn and Kat really stepped up and met the challenge beyond what I
could have hoped for," guitarist Jan Kuehnemund said. "I feel like we
pulled off a miracle, as the rest of the tour was very successful. We
had genuine support from Vince Neil, Ratt & Slaughter, and that was
very encouraging."

"After the Voices Of Metal tour, we spent the next four years writing
and rehearsing," said vocalist Jenna Sanz-Agero. "We recorded a demo
of six songs, five of which ended up on the new album. With a whole
new lineup, new songs, new look, and a new sound, we spent those few
years reconfiguring our entire 'team' so that when we were ready, the
fans would be happy with what we brought to the table."

Vixen entered The Bull Dog Den studio in Eagle Rock, California in
2005 and the recording was completed in May of 2006 due to the band
touring in between the sessions. LIVE & LEARN was produced,
engineered, and mixed by Dennis MacKay, who also engineered REV IT UP.
The album was mixed at the Bulldog Den and mastered by Brian Gardner
of Bernie Grundman Mastering.

"It felt ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL getting back in the studio to record a
new album after all these years!" Kuehnemund said. "The approach this
time was so much more relaxed than in the past. In the past, we were
always working against the clock, and there was a lot of pressure from
the record company about different things, but this time we had none
of that, mostly due to our producer, Dennis MacKay and the Bull Dog
Den Studio. Dennis was an absolute riot to work with. He kept us
laughing the entire time and kept our spirits up. This was the best
time and the most fun I've EVER had in the studio."

LIVE & LEARN includes 11 new Vixen songs plus a cover of David Bowie's
"Suffragette City." The band has not lost its talent for writing
emotionally moving music.

"On the surface the lyrics might seem pretty dark, but there is a lot
of irony and sarcasm involved in the way they're delivered so most of
it is about empowerment, rather than settling into a victim role,"
said Sanz-Agero. "We've all experienced some heavy stuff -- it's about
what you do with it."

Vixen will appear at the Luna Guitars and ddrums booths at the 2007
NAMM show in Los Angeles on January 20. The band has two dates
scheduled in March opening for Dokken and is one of three headliners
for the Hawgs Of Texas three-day Motorcycle Rally in Lake Somerville,
Texas.

-Temple Of Brutality's First Item On Its "Lethal Agenda" Is To Keep
Metal Raw And True

TRENTON, NJ -- The U.S. release date for Temple Of Brutality's debut
album, LETHAL AGENDA, is February 20, 2007 on Demolition Records.

Four hard-hitting veterans -- guitarist Peter Scheithauer, vocalist
Todd Barnes, bassist Dave Ellefson, and drummer Stet Howland -- create
Temple Of Brutality's brand of bone-jarring, uncompromising metal.
Guitarist Peter Scheithauer wrote the music for the 10 songs that are
on the album and they were originally demoed with drummer Stet
Howland, who played together in Belladonna, Killing Machine, and
Stream. Soon after the demos were recorded, Howland returned to the
road with W.A.S.P. and Scheithauer got busy searching for a bassist,
vocalist and label for the project.

The next time Scheithauer spoke to Howland, Temple Of Brutality was a
drummer away from reality. Todd Barnes was already in and bassist Dave
Ellefson signed on as well. Scheithauer also found a label, Demolition
Records, for this unrecorded album. Howland did not have to be coaxed
to lend his talents to the project and Temple Of Brutality became
reality. The band began rehearsing and it was then they realized the
full potential of the lineup.

"I guess it's a bit like expecting a baby and you're looking at an
ultrasound and only see certain details, but when your kid is born,
it's a different story," said Peter Scheithauer. "I knew the songs
sounded good in my head and I'm guessing it's going to be cool, but
'til the band jams together and records, I couldn't really see the big
picture. Needless to say, the record came out better than I ever
imagined."

Temple Of Brutality evolved at a furious pace. LETHAL AGENDA was
recorded in a week's time at Alternative Sound Studio in Fort Myers,
Florida. Owner Greg Timko, who previously worked with Dave when he was
in Megadeth, engineered the record at it was mixed by Jason Slater.
Live takes of the songs were laid down and the session was going
smoothly, but Scheithauer still had a surprise left for the band.

"I had a secret song to present to the band at the last minute," said
Scheithauer. Nobody ever heard 'Art Of War' before, myself included. I
just finished it that week and I wanted to hit the guys with it at the
last minute because the whole idea behind this recording was to make
it natural and spontaneous. I put down the riff and structure of 'Art
Of War' while Stet and Dave were putting their own magic on it.
Meanwhile, Todd was in the lobby writing the lyrics. I love it -- that
feeling of emergency. That's metal."

Slater's mix of LETHAL AGENDA is a perfect companion to how the tracks
were recorded. It has a raw, live feel to it with the vocals up front
in the mix and the music is not over-processed. Temple Of Brutality
wanted the album to be recorded and mixed a certain way to capture the
energy of the band.

"We didn't want to be another Pro Tools wonder," said Scheithauer. All
the tracks are played in one take and if we had to redo it, we redid
it from the top. Technology can be great, but if you depend on it,
you're not metal. Bands like Sabbath and Priest didn't think, 'Hey, I
can do that riff there and than loop it.' They played their parts and
most of them were recorded live. That's the true spirit of metal. As
simple as it sounds, we will play those songs night after night and
that's what we wanted to capture -- not a perfect take but a real
alive balls-out Temple Of Brutality take."

The CD also features a video for the title track, "Lethal Agenda,"
which was directed by Fabio Jafet, the filmmaker responsible for the
documentary "Waking Up Dead."

Temple Of Brutality's are currently planning a U.S. tour, which will
tentatively begin in March on the East Coast with Midwest and Southern
dates to follow.

-Glenn Hughes' MUSIC FOR THE DIVINE Receives U.S. Release On January
30

TRENTON, NJ -- Glenn Hughes, whose vocal talents have earned the
singer the title of "the voice of rock," has entered the newest phased
of his storied career with MUSIC FOR THE DIVINE, the vocalist/
musician's latest collaboration with drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili
Peppers).

Set for release January 30 in America on Demolition Records, MUSIC FOR
THE DIVINE is a testament to Hughes' versatility and ability to grow.

"I had bought a 1955 Martin acoustic and I hadn't written on acoustic
in a long time," said Hughes.

"This Is How I Feel," "This House," "Frail," "The Divine," and
"Valiant Denial" were all the product of Hughes' acoustic
experimentation, but Hughes was also writing with the idea that he
wanted to create an album that could be scored with strings.

"He's not stuck in the past," Smith said. "It's modern, new music.
This album represents the full spectrum of Glenn's music and it's a
great statement about where he's at now. It's very honest."

With the love of funk seeded deeply in his soul, Hughes underlined
each song with its own funky style. Smith, Hughes' partner in crime in
recent years, acted as a sounding board for Hughes' demos before the
musicians came together with longtime guitarist JJ Marsh to flesh out
the tracks. The trio, along with help from Chili Peppers guitarist
John Frusciante and Mark Kilian on keys and string arrangements,
recorded MUSIC FOR THE DIVINE live at Smith's Hollywood Hills home.

"I don't think I can ever go back to recording any other way," Hughes
said. "Chad is an amazing arranger and he is the most musical drummer
that I have ever worked with, and remember that I have worked with
some of the greatest drummers."

The Hughes/Smith musical relationship dates back to the NAMM show in
2002, where one of Smith sponsors, Sabian, heard about Hughes' show
and suggested that the duo would be a "match made in rhythm heaven."
Smith, who had been a big fan of Hughes' work in Deep Purple decades
before, gladly accepted the offer.

"Chad came down to my rehearsal and we clicked immediately," said
Hughes. "He sat in on half of my set at the show and has been my wife
ever since!"

"We played the show and it was fantastic," Smith said. "We hit it off
immediately, musically and personally. He comes from a very similar
background -- soul, funk. It's a really fun working relationship.
Really, it's just fun playing. I think Glenn us the best singer of his
generation. He gets better and stronger. It's amazing what a gift he
has."

"I am extremely grateful that I have been given the gift to be a
songwriter," Hughes said. "It is like a tap has been switched on and
it is continually flowing. It has been like this for about three or
four years, and I am humbled by it and I don't take it for granted."

Neal Morse's controversial new album's title SOLA SCRIPTURA (which
means "Only By Scripture" in Latin) is as interesting and provocative
as the music itself. Featuring Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater and the
riveting guitar work of Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), this album is huge in
scope and sound! Filled with incredible melodies, cascading guitar and
keyboards and all the great composition this ex Spock's Beard leader
is known for, SOLA SCRIPTURA reaches beyond what one would think
possible in a progressive rock epic.

Lyrically it draws on the life of Martin Luther, the Christian
reformer who lived in the early 1500s. (He's the one who nailed the 95
theses on the door of the Cathedral in Germany and rocked the entire
world at the time.) "I tried to imagine what it must have been like to
go up against corruption in high places and risk life and limb for
what you believe is right," says Morse. Will this album be
controversial? Surely. But Morse has never been one to draw away from
a challenge.

Musically it's as hard hitting and intricately beautiful as Morse's
best work. With three long pieces (the longest clocking in at 29
minutes!) and one shorter ballad, this has all of Morse's trademark
moments and the addition of Paul Gilbert's blistering guitar work puts
it over the top.

Morse says "I felt as a Christian I should make this album and point
out to people that may have forgotten how the church fell away from
righteousness in the Dark Ages. The point of it is to point us toward
God and his truth and where the church still may have darkness in it,
to point her toward the light of God's truth which is laid out
wonderfully before us in the scriptures. Of course, this is a lofty
goal for a mere CD, but, with God anything is possible!"

Hey Guys and Girls,

Hope you had a great Holiday Season and praying you guys have an even
better 2007! Before we get into the update I just wanted to say "thank
you" to everyone for their prayers and e-mails concerning the accident
I was in on Dec. 21st. (Justin was in a bad car accident) I am doing
fine now. The staples were removed on New Year's Eve and my vision is
fine now. Looking at the pictures (I will post soon on my Web site) it
looks like we should have been hurt a lot worse than we were and I'm
grateful for God's hand of protection on my life. It really strikes a
reality check into your own mortality. I am very proud of the reviews
and Web sites that have recognized SOUNDTRACK OF A SOUL as one of the
better releases of 2006. For me and what I have been through in my
musical career, it is a real eye opening, humbling experience and I
want to publicly thank Mr. Mike Layne (the producer) for all his hard
work in letting my vision become a reality. And just wait until you
guys hear INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! It's going to blow you away.... it is
really coming together nicely!

For Liberty N' Justice's seventh studio album we have decided to do a
full production acoustic rock record. INDEPENDENCE DAY will be
released mid-'07 and we have already announced five songs and their
singers..... Jack Russell (Great White), Jamie Rowe (Guardian), Kelly
Keeling (Baton Rouge), David Raymond Reeves (Neon Cross), and Mark and
Shannon Hovland (Hovland). At this time we are "Warranted" to inform
you of the next two singers and their songs. On the track "Addiction"
is Jani Lane (former lead singer of Warrant and Saints Of The
Underground) and on the song "Bullet, Train, Breakdown" is Jaime St.
James (current lead singer of Warrant and Black 'N Blue). This song
also features Jerry Dixon of Warrant on bass. Both songs were written

-Hirax Gear Up For Historic Shows With German Thrashers Destruction

LONG BEACH -- Hirax are currently rehearsing for their eight-date tour
opening for their thrash metal metal brothers Destruction, which
begins on Sunday, January 21, at The Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana,
California.

Although Hirax and Destruction have never played a show together,
Hirax vocalist Katon W. De Pena and Destruction vocalist/bassist
Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer have known each other for the past 24 years.

"Katon is a true metal maniac," said Schmier. "He was the first U.S.
citizen that ordered our demo tape back in 1983! Since that day,
Destruction and Hirax have had a deep friendship because music is able
to deliver more emotions than anything else and it goes beyond borders
and boundaries. After all these years, I'm really excited that we will
finally play together with Hirax in their home country."

"I have always had respect for Schmier and Destruction ever since I
first heard their first demo tape back in 1983, when tape trading was
the law," said De Pena. "They have withstood the test of time and
still are one of the real pioneers of thrash metal. It is an honor to
be sharing the same stage with them."

Hirax's five-song EP, ASSASSINS OF WAR, will be released on February 6
on Black Devil Records and Deep Six Records. It will be available in
the U.S. through Century Media Distribution and Relapse Records. The
EP will also be released on 12-inch 45 RPM colored vinyl in a limited
pressing.

"The artwork for both the CD and the 12" vinyl version is incredible,"
De Pena said. "Jeff Gaither did the artwork. He has drawn album covers
for the legendary punk/hardcore band, The Accused, along with many
others. Hirax is some of his best work for sure."

After the dates with Destruction, the band will continue to write new
material for their full length album as well as contributing a new
track to the upcoming Black Devil Records compilation THRASH METAL
WARRIORS, which will be an international compilation of the best
underground bands from around the world. Toxic Holocaust, Slaver,
Strike Master, and Execution are also scheduled to contribute tracks
and other surprise guests will be announced soon.

"The ending of 2006 was great for us with the East Coast and
California dates we played, and 2007 will start off with a bang!" De
Pena said. "We will be touring heavily in support of the new ASSASSINS
OF WAR EP and we expect to tour more countries than ever before this
year. Thrash Metal is BACK!!"

Hirax will return to Mexico City on March 3 for the Full Metal
Festival, which features appearances by Helstar, Anvil, Agent Steel,
and Omen.

-Early Mortiis Records Reissued By Projekt Records

TRENTON, NJ -- Two of Mortiis' early out-of-print solo recordings,
ANDEN SOM GJORDE OPPRAR and KEISER AV EN DIMENSJON UKJENT, have been
reissued by America's premiere darkwave label Projekt Records.

Originally released in the mid-'90s, the records offer a glimpse into
the beginning of the Mortiis path, which has since morphed into an
aggressive style with a full band. Each record consists of two musical
pieces, at the time dubbed "dark dungeon music." These long,
thoughtful pieces present a regal yet ancient mood; as if the
soundtrack for ancient castles filled with forlorn kings looking out
upon their lost kingdoms. Words are spoken in Norwegian, drifting into
the background ambience.

"Musically this is miles away from what we do today as a band, but I
still think of these albums as two great snapshots of what Mortiis was
all about back in the mid-'90s," said Mortiis.

Each release has updated artwork and is in digi-pak format. "I think
the artwork on these reissues probably mirror the atmospheres on those
albums a lot better than the original artwork," Mortiis said. "The
ANDEN... artwork was heavily changed for the reissue version but the
KEISER... art was pretty much left intact. They look really uniform
now, which I'm pleased with because in terms of sonics, they're sort
of sister albums."

Mortiis is presently writing and recording new material for a 2007
release.

-Incantation To Dominate Europe

TRENTON, NJ -- Incantation will return to in February as part of the
Domination Tour 2007 alongside Malevolent Creation, Rotting Christ,

The Pennsylvania-based death metal band will also continue on with

-Light This City To Shoot Video In Los Angeles

Bay Area thrashers Light This City will film the band's first video on
Feb. 1 and 2 in Los Angeles, Calif. with acclaimed video director
Darren Doane (Unearth, All That Remains, Darkest Hour). The band chose
"The Unwelcome Savior" of its latest release, FACING THE THOUSAND,
which saw a Sept. 2006 release.

Drummer Ben Murray comments on the upcoming video shoot: "We are more
than excited about working with Darren on our debut video. We have
enjoyed his work for a long time and are glad we found someone that
understands our music and vision and can really capture the intensity
of this style of music. That being said, expect lots of zombies and
blood."

Light This City continues to support the band's third release, FACING
THE THOUSAND with a string of headlining shows before meeting up with
labelmates All That Remains for another stretch of live shows.
Produced by Zack Ohren and featuring artwork by Robot Plague's Mario
Garza, FACING THE THOUSAND was recorded in March of 2006 and is the
follow-up to 2005's REMAINS OF THE GODS. The record features a guest

-Dawn Of Azazel Confirms European Tour With Grave, Krisiun, And
Immolation

TRENTON, NJ - New Zealand's most notable death metal export, Dawn Of
Azazel, will return to Europe this spring for a 38-show tour with
Grave, Krisiun, and Immolation.

"We are extremely pleased to announce our return to Europe with some
of the greatest in the genre," said front man Rigel Walshe. "We would
like to thank Massive Music and Ibex Moon Records for the chance go
from strength to strength and again have the honour of hitting the
road with acts that have been tremendously influential on our sound
and musical identity."

No strangers to the road, Dawn of Azazel has most recently trekked
throughout Australia and New Zealand with American death metal legends
Deicide. Prior to that, the group toured America with Vital Remains,
Incantation, and Sin Of Angels on the Decades Of Death tour. In March
of 2005, Dawn Of Azazel played 13 dates in New Zealand, Australia,
Indonesian, and Thailand. The final show of the upcoming tour will
mark the 99th in support of the band's latest album, SEDITION, which
was re-released in the United States in September with a video bonus
track via Ibex Moon Records.

-Drummer Kyle Severn To Sit Out Upcoming Incantation European Tour

TRENTON, NJ -- Former Incantation member Jim Roe will fill in for
drummer Kyle Severn on the band's upcoming European tour with
Malevolent Creation, Rotting Christ, Neuraxis, Mystic Circle, Harm,
and Inactive Messiah.

"It sucks that I won't be able to play drums for the European tour,
but I need the time to fulfill some work obligations outside of
metal," Severn said. "It is a great honor to have Jim Roe helping and
playing with Incantation again. He was and always has been a huge part
of the creation of the Incantation drum style. His traditional,
barbaric style of drumming has always been a signature of Incantation,
and this is a style in which I always loved and tried to keep in
Incantation."

Roe played with Incantation on the ONWARD TO GOLGOTHA and MORTAL
THRONE OF NAZARENE albums. "Kyle will be missed on this tour but we
are very fortunate to have Jim helping out," said guitarist/vocalist
John McEntee. "He really understands the Incantation sound and
feeling."

Added Roe: "I look forward to getting out on the road and jamming on
some Incantation songs. It's been a long time and I think it will be a
great experience."

The group has begun rehearsing with Roe in preparation for the tour.
"I've heard the practice tapes and was blown away by the authentic
feeling he has with the old songs and the new," said Severn.

"Pilgrims Of Sabbocracy" newsletter... Ronnie James Dio and Geezer
Butler were interviewed on Eddie Trunk's radio show and revealed the
following: 1) the first U.S. gig is March 30 at Radio City Music Hall
in New York City, with no opening act; 2) other U.S. dates will be
scheduled for August, then the band will "likely" head to the U.K.,
Japan, and Australia; 3) it is "pretty likely" no Ozzy Osbourne-era
songs will make the set list; 4) tour rehearsals will begin in about
two weeks, and Dio's keyboard player Scott Warren will play with the
band; 5) BLACK SABBATH: THE DIO YEARS is due April 3, will be a single
disc, and features three new songs written by Dio and Tony Iommi. It
was also revealed that Dio wasn't expecting this "reunion" to result
in anything more than the three new songs for the compilation album,
and the members aren't expecting to carry on once the live dates are
completed. Part of the reason they opted to call themselves "Heaven &
Hell" instead of "Black Sabbath" is because the
Osbourne/Iommi/Butler/Ward lineup had briefly reunited and then got
