-Halford Digital Entertainment!
Halford
Digital Entertainment Packages (DEPs)
Metal God Entertainment LLC / RHML
http://www.HalfordMusic.com/
For more than a decade value-added CD and DVD packaging have spurred
sales and achieved very impressive appearances and functions. Finally,
the brethren to physical packaging in the digital arena has arrived,
and it too offers distributors unlimited premium services for their
targeted consumers.
As the game, music, film and television industries adjust their
business models from a physical to a digitally-managed and digitally-
distributed environment; visionaries have curiously asked "what does
digital packaging consist of?" Is it possible to provide exclusive
packaging to the consumer and control its digital proliferation?
Heavy Metal musician Rob Halford (Halford / Judas Priest vocalist)
launched his new label Metal God Entertainment late-November 2006;
utilizing digital distribution as his exclusive means to distribute
current and future music and film product www.HalfordMusic.com. That
is right, no traditional brick-and-mortar music store housing The
Metal God's works -- at least not yet. Metal God Entertainment also
operates a global iTunes label featuring Rob Halford's music and
short-film releases for the world's iTunes and iPod communities.
Consumers purchasing from www.HalfordMusic.com will find each of Rob
Halford's six (6) music releases accompanied with a premium digital
package housing music and film for PC purchasers. Mac users receive
the premium digital packaging and 192k MP3 files. Due to Apple's
iTunes Digital Rights Management restrictions; Mac users must purchase
Halford's videos direct from Apple's iTunes Store.
Halford's Digital Entertainment Packages (DEP) have been soundly
developed for Apple's Mac OS X systems as well as Microsoft's PC
Windows environment. Each Halford premium digital package offers a
custom interface which guides users through their new music, videos,
wallpaper, lyrics, expanded liner notes and promotional photographs.
Click on Rob Halford discography within the digital package, and a
music player appears with 30 second audio clips of Rob Halford's
entire solo catalog; as well as, links to purchase or gift a song,
release or entire catalog.
Halford's DEPs also include Halford updates via a web link to
www.RobHalford.com. Rob's official site hosts millions of visitors
annually.
Halford debuted his first premium digital packaging in 2004 --
featuring a rare "live" performance of his band at Anaheim,
California's House Of Blues, and a retro-styled video game which
ignited his web boards for an entire year as his audience strived for
highest score.
Every organization faces new marketing challenges as the industry
embraces digital distribution. HalfordMusic.com and iTunes deliver
quality music and film product over the Internet to the consumer.
However, many consumers dread looking at just a web page and order
form. They want to be enveloped and allowed to see how a production
was created, and they want to be entertained during the process.
Someone in my audience is discovering our DEPs everyday; and their
reactions are off-the-charts.

-The Ellevan Element
Ellevan is a peculiar hard rock/pop group from Brazil which songs are
sung in English based on '80s and '90s American and British Rock n'
roll groups. The name Ellevan ain't got no meaning in any language,
although many people think that it has similarity to the number eleven
(11) in English.
"Ellevan is an abstract name but for us it remains good energy, spirit
raising, a kind of elevation."
C'mon, Put a little of Ellevan in your life!!!
The History
The Ellevan was created after the Guest band end which Leo Zatta
(vocal) Andy Kalany (electric guitar), Gabriel Tarouco (drums) and
Marcos Nobre (bass) was playing at, they reached some important
success in Brazil. Guest band was preparing a tour to Japan but it was
canceled because there were some problems between the group and the
manager. After that Guest was no longer anymore.
"When music is done with your heart and there's no financial interests
on, (involving only money) it can break all the barriers and go on
across all the frontiers, no matter what style or language you play."
Building Up A Dream
Leo Zatta as a good composer and Andy Kalany, as a multi-instrument
player started a new beginning, but there were no managers anymore the
main idea at that time was just to record the album as an independent
band. For the first album and videos recording was necessary a little
help from their friends because the financial situation was not so
good.
"We always could count on our friend's help because they believe in
our dreams as well."
So it was with a little faith and the willing to reach out their
dreams the musicians resolved to join their musical affinities
inviting also an old friend back from Guest to control the bass
frequencies (Marcos Nobre) and Marcelo Tomasi to take the drum sticks,
but son Marcelo left the band and Gabriel Tarouco took his place.
The Guys' Sounds
The band set list is not only made of their songs but they also play
some great rock n' roll success as: Guns N' Roses, Kiss, Mr. Big, Bon
Jovi, Queen, Metallica and many others. The band always does some
different surprises in their shows. Ellevan is growing up very fast
being very known in the musical scenery with just few months they are
conquering lots of people and radios around the world.
"When the subject is music, we don't care about the barriers or
prejudice of any nature; we just follow our hearts and write our
songs. It's natural. It's Ellevan."
The critics about the band, their shows and their songs are fantastic.
The comments don't stop coming from many places around the world,
great musicians, radios, fans all over the world don't matter to spend
their congratulations.
Click here and enjoy our some of our songs. We've got some of our
songs available to download:

-Marty Friedman Releases New Album In The U.S., LOUDSPEAKER
Shrapnel Records Release On March 13th, 2007
HOLLYWOOD -- LOUDSPEAKER is an album that will change all
preconceptions about solo guitar-shred albums. It is an emotionally
fueled work of genius, mixed with brilliant guitar solo mastery that
has become Marty Friedman's signature.
LOUDSPEAKER features guest appearances by Steve Vai, John Petrucci
(Dream Theater), Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, Steve Vai)
and Jeremy Colson (Michael Schenker, Steve Vai). "For me it was a big
experiment," Friedman explains. "I wanted to get these guys to play
the most aggressive way they could because as a fan I really wanted to
hear them in a full metal context."
LOUDSPEAKER is an aggressive, passionate and absorbing collection of
shred and melody that exposes the beauty and the beast in Friedman's
personality. Friedman reveals his true diversity with the hypnotic
opening strains of "Stigmata Addiction" to a poignant rendering of
"Coloreas Mi Vida." The album continually travels between moments of
claustrophobic density "Black Orchid" to the razor-sharp shred of
"Elixir."
Marty Friedman began his career as a Shrapnel solo recording artist
and later joined forces with guitar virtuoso Jason Becker to form
seminal progressive metal pioneers, Cacophony. Amassing worldwide
acclaim as a guitar virtuoso, he came to the attention of Megadeth who
were looking for a guitarist and the rest is history. Racking up sales
of over 10 million records with Megadeth, Friedman continued to record
solo records for Shrapnel, often embarking on musical forays far
removed from his work with Megadeth. With several world tours and
Megadeth behind him, Friedman has also earned an international
reputation for being one of the most tasteful guitarists to emerge
from the Shrapnel shredding scene. As a clinician, he has made
hundreds of appearances over the years that have enabled many of his
fans to meet him, forging a bond that few musicians have achieved with
their audience. LOUDSPEAKER is exactly the kind of record that
Friedman fans have been waiting for. It is heavy, melodic and digs
down deep to his roots, reminiscent in style of his best selling
Shrapnel solo record DRAGON'S KISS.
Now residing in Tokyo, Japan, Friedman has become a television
celebrity appearing regularly on five major networks, and can be seen
on TV almost every day in Japan. Friedman is also planning to tour in
spring '07. "I am planning a tour of Europe early this year," Friedman
explains. "It has been way too long since I have played there live
aside from guitar clinics and special events."
LOUDSPEAKER will be released on March 13th, 2007 in the U.S. For more
information click to http://www.martyfriedman.com/ or

the two latest bands confirmed to perform at Texas Madfest. The event,
to be held at club FBI Rocks #1 in Houston Texas on July 13-14, 2007
will mark Prymary's return to Texas since their last appearance in the
state playing alongside Texas veterans Stride.
Prymary is currently working on writing the follow-up to acclaimed
2006 release THE TRAGEDY OF INNOCENCE. "We haven't been to Texas in so
long and I am so excited in playing Madfest. I can never forget how
well we were treated in Texas and how crazy the crowds were, I look
forward to see that again," said keyboardist Smiley Sean. The band,

-New Neal Morse Now shipping From Radiant!
Hello there,
We just wanted to let you know that we are now shipping Neal Morse's
new CD SOLA SCRIPTURA!
Here are a few reviews:
"This is masterclass prog music!! Every tone, every word, every well
laid out chorus and chord brings this prog freak to the floor in
awe!!! And what you need to do now ... is GET IT!!!" - Progressive
World
"God, he pulled it off!" – Prog4you
"The production is great; all the musicians' instruments are heard
clearly throughout the album and add to that that the musicians names
are Neal Morse, Randy George, Mike Portnoy, Paul Gilbert and you
should understand that this is pure quality. This is an album that
will grow with every listen..." – VictoryZine
"Musically, SOLA SCRIPTURA is heavier than TESTIMONY, ONE or ? -- and
closer to Morse's previous Transatlantic project. There are just four
songs on this 76-minute record, with three of them running 16, 25 and
29 minutes, each broken into six sub-parts. So it's very 'epic' in all
sense... The performances are excellent -- particularly Portnoy's
drumming and Paul Gilbert's excellent, very expressive guitar work.
"SOLA SCRIPTURA is probably more progressive than Neal's earlier CDs
-- and it's more intense and dense, and not as instantly approachable.
There isn't much subtlety and no barriers are breached here ... if you
liked the music of early Spock's Beard, Transatlantic or solo Neal
Morse...you'll definitely like this one.
"Neal Morse will find a huge audience for this record both -- because
of, and despite the faith-based lyrics. Recommended." - Sea Of
Tranquility
The European orders are shipping now. The U.S. ones will ship next
week. Order now at: http://www.radiantrecords.com/
Oh, and don't forget to check out all the other great titles in our
catalogue like the latest Spock's Beard, Yellow Matter Custard and
others.
Thanks,

-G3 Tour: Paul Gilbert Joins Satriani & Petrucci
Gilbert's First Ever Instrumental GET OUT OF MY YARD on Shrapnel
Records – In Stores & Online NOW~
~~ "I can't wait to hit the stage with John and Paul, they are two of
the scariest, most amazing players I've ever heard!" - Satriani ~~~
HOLLYWOOD -- Paul Gilbert is proud to announce that he will be joining
Joe Satriani's celebrated and legendary G3 spring tour. The 2007
incarnation of Joe Satriani's popular G3 tour will kick off on March
14th in Phoenix starring Satriani, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert. The
tour will play selected dates in North America throughout March and
April. The starting tour itinerary follows with more dates TBA.
Gilbert first became known for his work with Racer X and went on to
platinum success with Mr. Big who topped the pop charts in 1992 with
the ballad "To Be With You." Mr. Big disbanded in 1996, and a year
later Gilbert made his solo debut with KING OF CLUBS; FLYING DOG
followed in 1998, trailed by BEEHIVE LIVE in 1999, ALLIGATOR FARM in
fall 2000 and GET OUT OF MY YARD in August 2006.
GET OUT OF MY YARD is the first all-instrumental CD by guitarist Paul
Gilbert. Known as a guitarist's guitarist, Gilbert's strong fan base
has been asking for an all-instrumental record for years and they are
about to get served up a guitar smorgasbord beyond their wildest
hopes. "Over the years, I've received tons of e-mails from fans
saying," states Gilbert. 'Dude - Why don't you make a guitar
instrumental album?' But I never wanted to."
Gilbert admits he had never aspired to write and record an
instrumental as he; himself rarely listened to guitar instrumental
records. "In 1988, I joined the band Mr. Big. At the same time, a big
record company offered me a deal to make a solo guitar instrumental
album 'just like Joe Satriani,'" explains Gilbert. "I turned the offer
down. When I would try to write instrumental songs, I don't know what
to do with the second verse. In a pop song, it's OK to repeat the
music and just change the words. But with no words, my second verse
ends up being exactly the same as the first. How do I get around
this?"
Gilbert is regarded internationally as one of the greatest players in
the industry. Starting his recording career with Shrapnel Records as a
teenager in the late '80s, Paul Gilbert remains one of the most active
guitarists from the original shred guitar scene, stemming from his
multi-faceted talent and long range career. With Platinum success,
including a number one song with Mr. Big, and cult status as founding
member of the legendary and highly successful underground progressive
metal band Racer X, Gilbert's sales draw from nearly 20 albums and 20
years as a recording artist and touring musician.
Continuing with the same successful formula as in years past, fans
will be treated to individual sets by each guitarist with their own
bands before joining Satriani and his band on stage for an all-star
jam session. As with previous G3 tours, special guest guitarists will
be invited to join the jam at select dates around the country. Past
guests have included Neal Schon, Gary Hoey, George Lynch, Billy
Gibbons, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robert Fripp and Brian May.

-Marc Ford: Flying Solo From The Black Crowes
WEARY AND WIRED Releases March 13th On Blues Bureau Records
HOLLYWOOD -- Marc Ford, who has sold millions of albums worldwide and
played in front of more than 50 million people across the globe, will
impact the airwaves with his first solo album WEARY AND WIRED March
13th [Blues Bureau Records]. WEARY AND WIRED features Ford on guitars
& vocals, Mark "Muddy" Dutton on bass and Doni Gray on drums.
The Former Black Crowes blues-guitar guru has delivered an
extraordinary album full of Classic Rock-soaked riffs, bluesy based
crunch with Southern Rock twang. "My influences go way beyond as I do
not play nor do I listen to rock," explains Ford. "What influences my
playing is folk, blues, jazz, gospel, country, reggae and the list
goes on..." WEARY AND WIRED is a significant recording showing Ford's
strength as a singer/songwriter, fueled by large doses of his
phenomenal guitar work that brings to mind such masters as Clapton,
Hendrix and Beck.
Ford's first record was with CBS' renowned retro blues rockers Burning
Tree in the late 1980s. Burning Tree's self-titled debut album was a
much-heralded debut among guitar aficionados and led to Ford being
asked to join The Black Crowes.
Ford put his stylized guitar stamp on the Black Crowes' second record
THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION, which went to number one
on the Billboard charts, eventually going double platinum. Ford
continued recording and touring with the band through their next two
releases, 1994's AMORICA and 1996's THREE SNAKES AND ONE CHARM as well
as making two additional records with the band, TALL and BAND, which
were recorded in the '90s and were previously unreleased until 2006.
In 2002 Marc had self-released his first solo record IT'S ABOUT TIME.
The album was never officially released but by Marc's personal efforts
as well as Amazon and iTunes. He still plays the music live as many
have said this to be one of their favorites.
In 2006 Ford put out a press release announcing that he had left the
Crowes in order to protect his hard fought sobriety and that he had
recently produced albums for emerging artists The Pawnshop Kings and
Ryan Bingham.
Shortly after this announcement Ford reunited with his Burning Tree
band mates for three gigs at The King King in Hollywood, CA. Following
the impromptu dates, Ford enlisted Doni Gray to be his band mate,
along with Muddy and son Elijah Ford, for his new studio album WEARY
AND WIRED. "This album is special," explains Ford. "Burning Tree was
my first signed band. We played for years when we were really young.
We started in garage, got a deal and toured. This is the first time
we've played together in 17 years -- it felt natural and flowed."
WEARY AND WIRED is in store March 13th. For more information on go to

Milan Polak set to release first vocal album STRAIGHT on April 20th,
2007.
After two hugely successful instrumental albums in DREAMSCAPES and
GUITAR ODYSSEY, Austrian guitar virtuoso Milan Polak returns with his
first solo vocal album entitled STRAIGHT. The album is powered by 13
rocking tracks that not only showcase Milan's guitar prowess but also
his great bluesy vocals backed by a killer band of Randy Coven (bass,
ex-Malmsteen, Ark, MCM), John Macaluso (drums, ex-Malmsteen, Ark, John
Macaluso & Union Radio) and Fabio Trentini (bass).
On the new album Milan comments, "STRAIGHT stands for the whole
concept of this album. One day I sat down and thought about a single
word that could perfectly describe me & my music and I found it in
'straight.' The term 'straight' has a lot of different meanings and
they all apply to my personality, my lyrics, my music and my attitude.
It stands for the way this album looks, sounds and was produced -- no
FX, no BS. What you see & hear is what you get -- 100% Milan. Enjoy!"
On the change of direction, "I had started to realize that playing
instrumental guitar music only offers limited possibilities, so I
decided to take a step into another direction and write songs with
lyrics & vocals to reach a wider audience." Fans of Milan's guitar
work will not find any lack of fret board prowess but the addition of
vocals gives a more balanced packaged.

-Mortiis To Release Remix Album SOME KIND OF HEROIN
Industrial Goth enigma Mortiis is set to release a remix album titled
SOME KIND OF HEROIN, reworking material from THE GRUDGE, on April 17
in Europe, via Earache Records.
For much of Mortiis' career, the striking visual aspect combined with
his rapid musical evolution has become a subject of much urban legend
over the years. And yet over a series of progressively more ambitious
albums, Mortiis has morphed into a band unit that has become known for
aggressive live shows and ambitious records, and has spawned two Top
50 U.K. singles.
In keeping with the rapidly developing nature of the music and the
direction of the band, SOME KIND OF HEROIN offers diverse remix
material including interpretations by a wide range of contemporaries,
such as Zombie Girl, Gothminister, Implant, XP8, Mental Siege, PIG,
The Kovenant, Velvet Acid Christ, Girls Under Glass, David Wallace,
Kubrick, Funker Vogt, Flesh Field, Dope Stars and In The Nursery.
Mortiis states: "I'm really stoked we finally got to do a remix album
and since it's been in process for quite some time now I'm happy to be
able to finally release it. I've always been fascinated with taking
songs and twisting them into something different, the ability to grab
the elements you like and put them into a totally different
environment. The flexibility of that really appeals to me.
"I think the mixes all those guys did came out really cool, many of
them vastly different from what would have come out of the studio if I
had done them. It's cool to see what happens when you let other people
inside your head, so to speak. I think the variety of mixers and sonic
realms created here will appeal to a large variety of people."
Track listing for SOME KIND OF HEROIN is as follows:
01. Underdog (Zombie Girl Remix)
02. The Grudge (Gothminister mix)
03. Twist The Knife (The Gibbering mix by Implant)
04. Broken Skin feat. Stephan Groth (Septic Wound mix by XP8)
05. The Grudge (Mental Siege Mix)
06. Gibber (PIG Remix)
07. Way Too Wicked (Rape, Dope and the American Way mix by The
Kovenant)
08. Gibber (Lysergic Club Mix by Velvet Acid Christ)

11. Broken Skin feat. Stephan Groth (Funker Vogt Remix)
12. The Grudge (Emotional Heresy by Kubrick)
13. Decadent & Desperate (Therafuck remix by Dope Stars)

between Ralf Scheepers and Epica's Simone Simons on the track "Every
Time It Rains." See http://matsinner.rocks.de/ for a full studio
report.
-Salem will appear at Hellfest, scheduled for June 22-24 in Clisson,

-Wow, 400 issues. I don't know about you but that's a lot where I come
from. I'm not going to get all weepy and I want to wrap up before the
music starts playing as a cue to get off the stage, but I gotta give
some shouts out to Steve Shumake, Neal Woodall, Patrick Brower, Sean
P. Gahgan, and Keith Abt for helping me keep this thing running for so
long. Also thanks to Pete Dziadzka for the early technical help, John
Erigo (Loudness!) and Rick Berg, and Craig Matusinski (dude, I pulled
out FEEDING OFF THE MOJO this week!), Paul "F*cking" Lackey, Stephanie
Kushner, Michael Henderson, Joel Ansier, Clay Marshall, Paul Luri, the
illustrious Rodrigo de Carvalho Leme, and my 512 buddies (Bill, Jeff,
and Arnie!) for their contributions and writings. Extra special thanks
go out to all the labels, artists, and PR folks who keep everything
and everybody running. Much gratitude to Tim Henderson and the Brave
Words & Bloody Knuckles folks, Kurt Torster (SFK), Gina Achord (Bands
On The Run), Phil Wilson (Hardrock mailing list), Wes Royer (Open Up
And Say...), and Mike McCarthy (Ant Magazine) for giving me forums in
which to blather on over the last 12-13 years. And, of course, thanks
to everyone who reads this e-rag! Party at Steve's house!!!

HEAVEN & EARTH - THE MAKING OF HEAVEN & EARTH (DVD) (A) Black Star

Remember the "Classic Albums" series of documentary DVDs that went
behind the scenes on records by bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden,
and Metallica? This nearly four-hour beast is kind of like that, but
way, WAY more comprehensive. Shame on you if you haven't yet heard of
Heaven & Earth, an entity that began as guitarist Stuart Smith's solo
project and has evolved into a band, and one that I feel most Detritus
readers would love. The actual album HEAVEN & EARTH first surfaced in
1998 as a Smith solo effort -- complete with tons of guest stars --
but it's since been re-released in expanded form as a self-titled disc
from the band Heaven & Earth. This DVD briefly traces the history of
Smith and his project from the infancy stages, ranging back to a late
'80s/early '90s band called Midnight -- which at various times
featured Smith, drummer Richie Onori, Hurricane's Kelly Hansen and Jay
Schellen, keyboardist Scott Warren (Dio, Warrant), Joe Lynn Turner,
and bassist Sean McNabb (Quiet Riot, Great White) -- and a group with
ELP's Keith Emerson known as the Aliens Of Extraordinary Ability.
There are plenty of amusing stories and commentary from these folks,
including the tale of how Smith faked a bidding war for his band by
taking a rejection fax and "Photoshopping" it to instead look like a
contract proposal for a $150,000 deal. Good stuff! Then, the bulk of
the disc's main section focuses on a detailed track-by-track analysis
of all the songs that have appeared on the various versions of HEAVEN
& EARTH. This section features snippets of all the above names plus
other involved parties like producer/keyboardist Pat Regan, guitarist
Howard Leese (Heart), singer Bobby Kimball (Toto), and drummer Carmine
Appice. They speak about their involvement with each track, how the
songs were written and/or recorded, and pretty much anything else that
came to mind while the cameras were rolling. Interspersed are bits of
video featuring live performances, recording sessions, promo video
clips, and shots of Stuart playing signature song licks. Glenn Hughes
and Richie Sambora, who both played on the album, are featured in
these video bits but unfortunately are not interviewed. The coolest
piece of footage is probably the one showing Smith and friend Ritchie
Blackmore performing Christmas carols in a bar, although in general
it's all extremely watchable and the trio of Smith, Hansen, and
Schellen comes off as quite the comedy troupe. Then comes nearly two
hours of bonus footage, complete with photo galleries, gear talk, more
live/promo/rehearsal video (this time, each song is a complete
performance), and a host of amusing anecdotes entitled "Stories And
Shenanigans." One particularly funny prank related by Regan had to do
with Blackmore's people putting a "F*ck The Irish" bumper sticker on
Regan's car before he drove through Massachusetts on St. Patrick's
Day, and there's really cool footage of Smith and Turner in the studio
writing an acoustic track called "Alma D'Alma." All this, plus a bonus
MP3 of the new track "When The Stars Collide" performed live last year
with vocalist Keith St. John. This is truly an extensive, detailed
look at a fine album that should not be missed.

TWISTED INTO FORM - THEN COMES AFFLICTION TO AWAKEN THE DREAMER (B)

Twisted Into Form is a technical metal band brought into existence by
guitarist Kaj Gornitzka and vocalist Leif J. Knashaug, two former
members of seminal avant-garde prog metallers Spiral Architect. No
prizes awarded for guessing what THEN COMES AFFLICTION TO AWAKEN THE
DREAMER sounds like, as the template established by Spiral Architect
is well preserved throughout the disc. Instrumental complexity and a
typically bleak vocal delivery are noted immediately on opener "Enter
Nothingness," followed by the quickly shifting time and angular, doomy
riffs of "Instinct Solitaire." "The Thin Layer Of Love And Lust"
surprisingly clocks in as the longest song on the disc at only 7:04,
and I must say it is refreshing to hear a band resist the temptation
to create long, drawn out epics just because they have the capability.
"Manumit" injects some death metal vocals into the arrangement but
unfortunately this tends to make the band sound more like some of the
faceless metalcore bands coming out at the moment. Along with the
outstanding drumming and guitar work on the album, THEN COMES
AFFLICTION TO AWAKEN THE DREAMER is also noteworthy for the excellent
bass playing of Erik Aadland, his interesting presence almost always
well established in the mix. If there is a real complaint about the
disc it would be that it resembles Spiral Architect a little too much
in places, as the band could use some unique identifying aspects to
really set themselves apart. Still, Spiral Architect are long overdue
for a new album and this will certainly tide fans over for awhile, and
may also capture the attention of those into music along the lines of
what Zero Hour and WatchTower are known for. Overall an impressive
debut aimed at devotees of music from the technical side of the
fence...
