House Of Shakira working on new album

After fifteen years as one of the most original bands in the melodic
rock scene it is time to write a new chapter in the book about House
Of Shakira. When their debut LINT hit the streets in 1997, they showed
the world that they we're able to write melodic rock songs that
sounded fresh without forgetting the history of the scene -- House Of
Shakira set a new standard with their debut.

After four studio albums, one live album, one live DVD and several big
and small tours the band found themselves pretty satisfied with what
they've had accomplished. In this situation you have two choices --
either way you say thank you for this time and all the fun we had and
quit. This option never occurred to the five stubborn Swedes in the
band. Instead they sat down and had their first meeting as a band in
ten years. On the agenda was only one question: How do we raise the
bar and create something better than all the things we've done
previously?

The answer was obvious for everyone in the band. We have to start
working on the songs together, write music as a band instead of try to
outdo each other with new "ready to go demos." This fell in good
ground and in just two weeks the band was working on ten new songs,
and the vibe in the band has never been this positive! The result of
the fifth album from House Of Shakira will be sensational!

March 23rd 2007 Releases

Sun Caged - ARTEMISIA

Since the debut the band have seen almost wholesale changes in
personnel with only guitarist and band founder Marcel Coenen remaining
from the debut. Yet the typical Sun Caged sound is still present, if
anything even richer with even more different sounds and styles than
heard on the debut.

The new band members and Coenen have delved deep to deliver an album
that acts on creative impulses, without limiting themselves to the
standard bag of tricks often heard in the progressive genre. ARTEMISIA
delivers an album full of unstoppable vocal melody, virtuoso guitar
work, odd time signatures and complex chord sequences all topped off
with an ultra powerful production.

Francesco Fareri - SECRETS WITHIN

Italian guitar blazer Francesco Fareri will release his second album
on Lion Music on March 23rd 2007, entitled SECRETS WITHIN. The new
album contains two contrasting sides of Francesco's musical vision and
is quite different from Francesco's previous release FORBIDDEN
DIMENSION in his playing, ideas and approach to music in general.

SECRETS WITHIN's two movements are subtitled. "Into The Dark Line" is
the heavy part of the album and is more into shred and progressive
metal yet with a lot of themes, melodies and unison passages, whilst
the second movement of the album "Out Of The Dark Line" is acoustic
and is only guitar and piano/keyboards with more delicate melodies and
some really introspective moments.

Scientists set at the festival. More info at http://www.rosfest.com/ .

Don Schiff appears live with Rocket Scientists with the gracious
support of Stick Enterprises.

ABOUT STICK ENTERPRISES: This California Stick manufacturing and
marketing corporation was founded by musician/inventor Emmett Chapman,
creator of the legendary Chapman Stick as well as the more recent NS/
Stick, a design collaboration between Emmett and Ned Steinberger.
Emmett discovered and created the unique "Stick" two-handed tapping
method on his 9-string guitar in 1969. It was a totally new way of
playing on strings -- fingers of both hands aligned parallel to the
frets and to each other, each hand approaching the fretboard from
opposite sides. This technique has now been in use for nearly 40 years
by Stick players and also by those tapping guitarists and bassists who
align both hands at right angles to the neck and strings. Don became
one of Emmett's first students in 1975 and quickly rose to band
performance level on Stick from a professional bass player's
perspective. The student then began to inspire the teacher to new
heights as Don applied his funky left-hand bass rhythm concepts to
Emmett's powerful tapping technique. More information at
http://www.stick.com/ .

ROCKET SCIENTISTS was formed in the late 1980s by keyboardist Erik
Norlander and vocalist / guitarist Mark McCrite. The two released
their first CD EARTHBOUND in 1993 joined by then-session bassist Don
Schiff. Schiff quickly became a part of the band for their second
release in 1995 BRUTAL ARCHITECTURE, and the three toured in the U.S.
and Europe in 1997 along with drummer Tommy Amato culminating in the
live CD EARTH BELOW AND SKY ABOVE: LIVE IN EUROPE AND AMERICA. In
1999, Rocket Scientists released OBLIVION DAYS, raising the bar on
already high expectations. At the turn of the century, Norlander,
Schiff and McCrite all worked on solo projects in addition to backing
symphonic rock vocal icon Lana Lane on several tours around the world.
The latest release is the band's fourth studio album REVOLUTION ROAD,
a double CD released in the fall of 2006, their strongest and most
successful title to date.

LANA LANE is an accomplished rock vocalist with a long history of
albums and tours. Lana began touring in Japan in 1998 to support
GARDEN OF THE MOON and the subsequent BALLAD COLLECITON and QUEEN OF
THE OCEAN releases. She then expanded her touring efforts to Europe in
2001 to support SECRETS OF ASTROLOGY with additional tours in 2003 and
2004. Lana has been dubbed as "The Queen Of Symphonic Rock" by her
fans and the press, and yet she remains a very versatile artist able
to move from intimate jazz pieces to bone crushing progressive metal.
But in the end it is Lana's love of melody and artistry that reigns
over all. Lana is a dedicated artist who approaches her craft with
grace and integrity. She celebrated the 10 year anniversary of her
first album in 2005 with the stunning concept album, LADY MACBETH, and
has recently released a live DVD of her 10th Anniversary Concert Tour.
Lana's newest release is GEMINI, an album of classic rock covers
recorded with an all-star band.

-Adrenaline Factor In Spin Magazine

Perris Records recording artist Adrenaline Factor was included in the
"current crop of promising Austin bands" in this month's issue of Spin
magazine.

The rush of rock-n-roll can be powerfully addictive and with
Adrenaline Factor at the wheel, it's sure be a white-knuckle ride.
Fueled by high-octane riffs and boozy bad-boy lyrics howled by Lee
"Bon" Scott, Adrenaline Factor's self-titled debut is a tire-
screeching soundtrack for cruising and carousing. Songs like "Wrong
Number" and "Boozin' Susan" ratchet up the voltage of AC/DC while
"Seven Beer Bitch" echoes with a Van Halen-esque guitar shuffle. "No
Warning" and "Hook Slide" feature slippery bottleneck blues that
recall faint strains of Led Zeppelin and "Bad Habit" launches into
mid-song whiplash thrash. The steamrolling album opener "Ride" was
tracked by radio watchdog Mediabase.com as it shot to the NUMBER ONE
current release on Austin's KLBJ FM radio. Formed in 2006 and quickly
picked up by Perris Records, the band has already begun to receive
national attention. The band is the brainchild of guitarist Paul Lidel
following storied stints with major label acts Dangerous Toys and
Dirty Looks.

-We Are I Create Buzz With Six-Song EP And "Controlled Chaos Hybrid
Rock"

What was the last band that managed to successfully merge classic
rock's multi-layered sound with prog metal sonic exploration? Few have
been so bold -- but Boston's We Are I are no average band. "Everybody
in the band is a really great player," explains guitarist Rich
Chamberland. "It's really diverse. Jay Staples (singer) is a freak --
he's very melodic, his voice has a Freddie Mercury-like quality to it.
Keenan Wakem (bass) is amazing -- his stage show is killer. New blood,
Ralph Arsenault (drummer) has kicked the band up an extra notch."

On the heels of their first release, OFF THE HOOK, the quartet has
just unleashed a self-titled EP produced by Anthony J. Resta, who has
worked with the likes of Collective Soul, Megadeth, Perry Farrell, and
Elton John. "Listen to our music, it's heavy but melodic, everybody
sings. This is a four-part-harmony band. What you hear is what you
get. We don't 'kind of pull it off.' I like to think of us as a
'hybrid band,' not alternative. We fuse together a lot of influences.
When you listen to the music, you've got Jay delivering rapid fire
lyrics, with the band playing three over four time, so it's like Tool
but a little crazier -- controlled chaos hybrid rock."

Soon after their formation, We Are I quickly made fans out of some of
the most successful and renowned hard rock musicians, including
Disturbed's Dave Draiman (who says of the band, "Their CD jumped out
at us -- we heard something very unique, the caliber of musicianship
is top notch") and Godsmack's Robbie Merrill (who is highly
anticipating the group's new release -- "I just couldn't take their
first album out of my CD player, I can't wait for the new stuff!").

As a result of Draiman and Merrill's support of the group -- and prime
opening spots for the likes of Disturbed, Lacuna Coil, Shinedown, and
King's X -- record labels are beginning to buzz around We Are I. With
even greater success on the horizon, it's the band's ability to pull
through the rough times that has gotten them to where they are today.

-Herege Composing New Album

The traditional heavy metal band Herege is composing the last songs
for their new album, which lyrics will be about marking historical
facts of 20th and 21st Century, following a chronological order, from
the end of Second World War, passing through Cold War, Latin America
dictatorships, untill the present, with themes about globalization and
terrorism.

About the lyrics Rodrigo Dantas comments: "This concern with the level
of the thematic is decurrent of some lamentable things that we have
seen lately in the Heavy Metal scene, many people having ridiculous
attitudes, racists and homofobics, amongst other forms of intolerance
and alienation that are reproducing there. To not be with the arms
crossed ahead of this situation we decided to revive the Heavy Metal
subversive spirit, which seems to be forgotten by most bands of the
current scene."

Some of the new songs were recently played live in II Bang Your Heads
Festival, which featured the bands Herege, Whisper Divine and Dark
Shadows.

More informations about the process of composition of the full length
are available in the band's Web site, which will be updated with a
studio diary with informations about the whole process of recording
untill its release. Check it at http://www.herege.com/ .

-THE PSYCHEDELIC UNDERGROUND In Stores Now -- Eric Gales' New Release
On Blues Bureau Records

HOLLYWOOD -- A worthy follow-up to 2006's CRYSTAL VISION, Eric Gales'
new album THE PSYCHEDELIC UNDERGROUND [Blues Bureau Records] affirms
Gales as one of the rare musical talents of his generation. This left-
handed guitarist of extraordinary ability and expressive vocals is a
natural for people to compare to Hendrix. Gales has developed a unique
hybrid blues/rock sound that also draws upon influences as diverse as
Albert King and Eric Johnson. A unique blending of styles, Eric Gales
stands head and shoulders among other guitarists in his genre.

Eric Gales grew up in a musical family with four brothers, two of them
who learned to play the guitar upside down and left handed in the same
fashion that Eric does. Eric's brother Eugene Gales played bass in the
Eric Gales Band and his brother Jimmy King had a thriving career as a
blues artist before his untimely death. Eric released his first record
at age 16 for Elektra Records to an amazing response from the media
and music fans around the globe. Guitar World Magazine's Reader's Poll
named Eric as "Best New Talent" in 1991. After recording a second
record for Elektra, all three brothers teamed up for THE GALES BROS.
LEFT HAND BAND which was recorded for the House Of Blues label in
1996. Through the years, it would not be unusual to look out in the
audience and see artists like Carlos Santana, Mick Jagger, Keith
Richards, B.B. King, and Eric Clapton, looking on with interest as
Eric took his God-given talent and worked crowd after crowd into a
frenzy.

The new Millennium presented new opportunities for Eric and he was
signed to a deal with Nightbird Records which was affiliated with Jimi
Hendrix's sister Janie Hendrix and Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. and
distributed through MCA/Universal. Under this deal, Eric recorded the
critically acclaimed record THAT'S WHAT I AM in 1991 and hit the road,
mesmerizing fans around the world with his uncanny connection to his
guitar. In 2004 Eric Gales made headline music news when he was chosen
to perform with Carlos Santana, Joe Satriani, Jerry Cantrell and
others on the Experience Hendrix tour to honor the late, great, Jimi
Hendrix.

Eric's masterful guitar and vocal performances on THE PSYCHEDELIC
UNDERGROUND portend a great response from these loyal music lovers as
guitarists of this quality and intensity are few and far between.

-Metal Veterans Form The Cursed, Prepare Release Of Their Debut, ROOM
FULL OF SINNERS May 22nd Via Screaming Ferret Wreckords

In the 1980s, many New Jersey-based metalheads witnessed the emergence
of two bands that rocketed out of the metal underground -- Overkill
and Hades.

Come 2007, the leaders of each band -- Overkill singer Bobby "Blitz"
Ellsworth and Hades guitarist Dan Lorenzo -- have joined forces in a
new band, The Cursed, who are readying the release of their debut
full-length, ROOM FULL OF SINNERS, on May 22nd, via the Screaming
Ferret label.

Along with bassist Job the Raver and drummer Mike Cristi, the group
spent much of the spring and summer of 2006 writing and rehearsing new
material. "Leven Als God In Frankrijk" brings to mind vintage
Motorhead, while the album's first single, "Evil, In The Bag" wouldn't
sound out of place on one of Black Sabbath's early '70s classic
albums. ROOM FULL OF SINNERS also benefits greatly from the sound of a
band that hasn't been processed through ProTools -- it sounds pretty
darn close to standing in the middle of the group's rehearsal space
while they let it rip. As a result, The Cursed will undoubtedly appeal
to headbangers who like their metal lean and mean.

Shock jocks Opie and Anthony have been among the band's first
supporters, as the duo has featured The Cursed music on both their Web
site as well as their radio show. And according to Mediabase, since
"Evil, In The Bag" was first serviced to radio in February, the song
has been heard by an estimated 60,000 people. The buzz on The Cursed
will only grow stronger in the coming months, as nationwide teaser ads
in print (magazines and newspapers) have been running for months and
will continue to run.

Heavy Internet promotion and ad banners will also appear through genre
specific sites, as well as the MySpace and Screaming Ferret Wreckords
sites. Also, the video for "Evil, In The Bag" will be serviced to all
on-line outlets, with MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" having expressed
positive feedback to multiple spins.

Songs from ROOM FULL OF SINNERS include:

1) Sweeter
2) Evil, In The Bag
3) Breaking Her Down
4) Best Of The Worst
5) Native Tongue
6) Serpentine Slither
7) All's Right
8) Leven Als God In Frankrijk
9) One Time
10) Queen Of The Down
11) Generate Her

-New Neal Morse Folk CD Now Available!

Hello again,

How are you doing? We hope you are doing well.

If SOLA SCRIPTURA wasn't enough for you, Neal Morse has just released
ANOTHER CD! I keep telling him to slow down but he won't listen! This
is his "Dylan" album with Christian themes that you may have heard
about. Some of you may have heard many of these songs on our last trip
in Europe. Here's the Blurb:

Neal Morse – SONGS FROM THE HIGHWAY

Recorded in January of 2007 with only one acoustic guitar and one
vocal, this is some fresh, intimate and different stuff than you've
ever heard from Neal. And the songs are amazing. There are some real
classics on this one. From the touching "There Is Nothin' God Can't
Change" to the haunting "That Crutch" to the amusing qualities of "The
Talking Mega-Church Blues," this is a CD that will speak to you for a
lifetime. These songs are based on Christian themes but they are not
just for Christians. They are for anyone who can appreciate a great
song with an open heart.

Here's a review:

Following in the footsteps of great folk pioneers comes a fantastic
Dylan styled album from modern Prog Rock legend Neal Morse. The ever
prolific and unpredictable Morse has stripped himself to the intimate
simplicity of one voice and an acoustic Guitar to bare all in praise,
prophecy and protest. Neal has only brought me to tears twice and only
one of those times with a song. That song is here on SONGS FROM THE
HIGHWAY in the tune "Resurrection Ground." A song of humility and
surrender, sacrifice and ultimately peace that passes all
understanding. Such is the power of these simple songs, the power to
touch our guarded hearts. - David Atkinson

We've got 'em in stock at http://www.radiantrecords.com/ .

Thanks and God bless you,

-Massachusetts' Till We Die Readying Multi-Dimensional Debut For
Screaming Ferret Wreckords, With PRESSING ON Due June 19th, 2007

Announces Special CD Release Show At The Avalon On Saturday, June
23rd, 2007

During the late '90s, Massachusetts saw many up-and-coming local rock
acts rocket up the charts to stardom. Ten years later, it appears as
though the region is readying for another uprising of hard rock acts
-- including the leaders of the pack, Till We Die.

"I haven't seen a young band draw crowds like they do at their shows
since the early days of Godsmack back at the Brewhouse in Haverhill,
MA, ten years ago before they were signed," says head of Screaming
Ferret Wreckords, Tim Koukos.

"These guys command the same kind of energy and presence as Godsmack
did back then." Formed in 2004 by singer Matt Ingham and guitarist Joe
Demarco, the duo soon enlisted the rhythm section of bassist Mike
Laroache and drummer Dave Stewart. With a sound that manages to touch
upon both Tool's prog explorations and melodic rock, the quartet began
playing out live, and immediately began turning heads -- leading to
opening gigs for such renowned acts as Ra, Lacuna Coil, Staind,
Tantric, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, and Powerman 5000, among others.
Additionally, Till We Die has played countless shows up and down the
east coast, and was offered to support a 40-date Jagermeister tour in
October of 2005, where they played with Scum Of The Earth.

Due to their earlier successful opening spot for Ra, the group has
since invited the then-still-unsigned band on several tours of other
parts of the country. Joe DeMarco & Dave Stewart add, "It has been a
long road to get were we are now, and hard to express the excitement
of everything that's going on and happening all around us at this
point. We feel this new material that we've recorded is some of our
best work to date! We're looking forward to unveiling it to the
masses."

Their live performance is what they have built their reputation on and
are always giving fans a dynamic and intense set, and after recently
signing to Screaming Ferret (distributed by Fontana), Till We Die has
succeeded in translating their live experience to the studio. The
group's full-length debut, PRESSING ON, will be released on Tuesday,
June 19th, and will be followed by a CD release show at the Avalon in
Boston, Saturday June 23rd.

The confirmed details for the release party are outlined below.

-Clutch Unleashes New Album, FROM BEALE STREET TO OBLIVION, March 27th
Launches World Tour, Bonnaroo Appearance To Follow

Clutch has been kings of the metal underground for years by this point
-- on the strength of such past classic as THE ELEPHANT RIDERS and
PURE ROCK FURY. But with their latest release, FROM BEALE STREET TO
OBLIVION, the quintet -- which includes oft-bearded singer Neil
Fallon, guitarist Tim Sult, bassist Dan Maines, drummer Jean-Paul
Gaster, and organist Mick Schauer -- Clutch is threatening to
infiltrate the mainstream full-on. And it's not that the group has
softened their sound at all, it's just that it's arguably the band's
strongest album from front-to-back.

Produced by Joe Barresi (who has worked with Kyuss, Tool, Melvins,
Queens Of The Stone Age, etc.), the 12-track album touches upon a
myriad of hard rock styles -- stoner rock, southern rock, blues metal,
and plenty of tasty jams. "This is probably the most 'live' album we
have recorded," enthuses Fallon about BEALE STREET. "We went out for a
few weeks, and played the music on the road. So, when we went into the
studio, all of us knew exactly what was going to happen -- a first for
Clutch. I don't know why we haven't done it this way all along; it's
so much easier.

"We also recorded the basic tracks directly onto tape. Nothing digital
in there at all. We haven't done that since THE ELEPHANT RIDERS. And
this record has a few more bluesy elements than has been the case in
the past, but nothing so blatant that it could be called alien to what
we do." One of rock's most hard-working live bands, Clutch will be
supporting the March 27th release of the album (which is their third
for the DRT label) with a world tour -- including U.S., European, and
Australian dates, as well as an appearance at the mammoth Bonnaroo
Festival on June 14th.

"Musically, we've become much more of a rock 'n' roll band now, as
opposed to being a metal or hardcore one," says Fallon. "Our style is
riff oriented, with a swing. It's never been a calculated move; we
just followed our instinct, and that is leading us closer to those
bands to whom we listened in our childhood. Bands which are now termed
as 'classic rock.'" With FROM BEALE STREET TO OBLIVION, it won't be
long until Fallon and company are mentioned in the same breath as
their classic rock heroes.

Clutch - FROM BEALE STREET TO OBLIVION confirmed track listing:

-Infernaeon Front Man Interviewed At About.com

Florida blackened death metal band Infernaeon front man Brian Werner
has been interviewed by About.com and covered details surrounding the
band's debut release, A SYMPHONY OF SUFFERING, the band's ranks which
include ex-Monstrosity members and the album's concept and guest
appearances.

A few excerpts from the full interview:

Q: Briefly describe the concept behind A SYMPHONY OF SUFFERING.

A: Well the first two tunes are separate from the last three. The
first tune is about the Marquis De Sade, one of my favorite authors.
The word sadist was named after him I highly recommend reading "120
Days Of Sodom" or "Justine," two of my favorites. The second tune,
"Sleeping God," is a fiction story based on the left-hand path version
of the creation story. In spiritual satanism, we belieive in the
concept of the seven ancient ones and this entity that has been asleep
for 10,000 years is actually their father. And since humanity has only
existed for 5,000 years, no one has heard of him and now he's waking
up and he's pissed. The album ends with a three-song trilogy about a
prophetic entity who can see the future though the eyes of the dying.
So in order to amass more power, he wages a war against the living.
The second song of the trilogy goes on to talk about how the victims
of the oracle come back to life seeking vengeance against their undead
assassins. The trilogy ends with "A.I.D.S.," which stand for
Annhilating the Inner Decay of Species which finishes the war.

Q: How did you get Ben Falgoust (Soilent Green, Goatwhore) and Keith
DeVito (Obituary, Suffering) to do guest vocals on the album?

A: Keith was my mentor and taught me how to sing when he was in
Pyrexia and pointed me in the right direction and been one of my best
friends for several years. Ben actually crashed at my house probably
at least 12 times over the years with Soilent Green and Goatwhore when
they were on tour. I live in Florida and they come through here all
the time. Once we were in the studio doing the album and he was on
tour with Soilent Green and he came down at like 4am and laid down the
tracks. That guy has one the the sickest voices in extreme metal so we
were stoked to get him to do it.

by Tim Wadzinski (tsw512@...)

-Does anyone know an easy way to put a ringtone onto someone else's
phone? I get peeved when people here in my office leave their desks
with their cell phones sitting out, and invariably, they get a call
and the volume is C-R-A-N-K-E-D. Man, does this bug me. If we have to
hear this junk at that volume at least it should be a decent song,
right? So my plan is to hack into their phones and download/install
ringtones of Priest, Yngwie, Metallica, and AC/DC songs. That would be
pretty cool.

-Speaking of Metallica and AC/DC... "Beavis & Butt-Head" alert! Did
anyone else see that picture floating around the 'net this week of the
real-life dude who looks a *lot* like Beavis? This was unnerving to
me. But the funny thing is a lot of people have now been doing the
whole "huh huh...this sucks" schtick here at work -- I hadn't heard
that for a while -- and some folks were talking about how they paid
money to see "Beavis & Butt-Head Do America" in the theater all those
years ago. :)

-And I'll tell you what's tough, is listening to the new interview
segments on Dokken's UNCHAIN THE NIGHT DVD here at work with
headphones on, and trying to remain stone faced. I put the disc in and
listened to the interviews while doing my normal work on the computer,
and Mick Brown's laugh is very, VERY infectious. I'm sure people were
walking by looking at me going, "Why the hell is that dude laughing at
his spreadsheet?"

-Now in my current playlist: Dokken - UNCHAIN THE NIGHT (DVD) (Rhino),
The Cursed - "Evil, In The Bag" (single) (Screaming Ferret Wreckords),
Sun Caged - ARTEMISIA (Lion Music), Alan Morse - FOUR O'CLOCK AND
HYSTERIA (Inside Out Music America), Seven Witches - YEARS OF THE
WITCH (DVD) (Screaming Ferret Wreckords).
