-Avian Announces New Lineup, Web Site & Album Cover Art

Avian, the melodic metal band featuring singer Lance King (Balance Of
Power, Pyramaze)and guitarist Yan Leviathan, has set ASHES AND MADNESS
as the title of its new CD, tentatively due in early 2008. According
to the group, "Mattias Norén [Epica, Evergrey, Into Eternity,
Manticora, Cloudscape] has once again handled all of the art duties
and he has done a killer job constructing a visually stunning 16-page
booklet." The band continues, "Bill Hudson [Cellador] will handle all
of the guitar solos on the album! Additionally, the drums will be
played by our good friend Jerry B; some of you have seen him play live
with us and are well aware of what a monster he is."

Yan Leviathan assembled Avian after being inspired by Gamma Ray's
performance at the ProgPower USA III festival.

Lance King is a well-respected and seasoned vocalist who has received
critical acclaim and the support of legions of fans from his work in
such bands as Balance Of Power, Gemini and Pyramaze, Shining Star, and
now also Krucible and is owner of Nightmare Records.

Avian's debut album, FROM THE DEPTHS OF TIME, was released in 2005.

HOLLYWOOD -- The long-awaited first live album from Rob Zombie has
arrived. A brain-bashing, soul-shaking sonic earthquake, ZOMBIE - LIVE
(Geffen Records/UMe), released October 23, 2007, in both clean and
explicit versions, spans songs from the hard rocker's entire career.

Recorded in 2006 during the tour supporting the EDUCATED HORSES album,
which hit #5 on the Pop chart, ZOMBIE - LIVE finds Zombie leading a
supercharged band featuring guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D, drummer
Tommy Clufetos and was produced by long-time co-writer and producer
Scott Humphrey.

ZOMBIE - LIVE includes the concert's renditions of the Best Hard Rock
Performance Grammy-nominated "Thunder Kiss '65" and "Black Sunshine"
from White Zombie's 1992 major label debut LA SEXORCISTO: DEVIL MUSIC

-Nightmare Recording Artist Suspyre Announces New Drummer Jeff Willet

WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ -- Suspyre, a progressive metal band from New
Jersey, would like to announce their newly christened drummer, Jeff
Willet. Suspyre is signed for the world to Nightmare Records
(distributed by Koch International in the U.S.A. and Fontana North/
Universal in Canada, and is owned by vocalist Lance King, known for
his work with Balance Of Power, Pyramaze, Avian, Krucible, Shining

Jeff Willet has been playing drums since middle school. While playing
in bands all throughout high school, he gained a lot playing with the
"Rolling Thunder Drum Line." Besides drum line, Jeff draws influences
from drummers Danny Carey, Sean Reinert, Jason Rullo, Thomas Haake,
Mike Portnoy, Marco Minneman, Gavin Harrison, and Virgil Donati. Jeff
played in a band right from the start of his drumming career, but
during high school was when it really started picking up. His prog/
rock band at the time, Ellipse, was playing at a local coffee house
called The Common Grounds. From this came many more opportunities and
he then joined another prog band, Awakenings. From there, he joined up
with the technical death metal/"grindcore" band Aborted Existence, and
recorded two CDs and played many shows.

Jeff has also joined guitar shred-master Chris Gordon and keyboardist
Joe Trainor for a few shows varying in styles from prog rock to
instrumental guitar shred metal to funk/fusion/jazz. Recently attended
Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Jeff was teaching at French
Woods Festival Of The Performing Arts during the summer of 2007. The
following semesters will be spent at Lebanon Valley College in
Annville, PA, where he will study Music Recording Technology.

Jeff says, "This is the type of band I've been looking to be in for
awhile now, and it's an honor to play with such talented and
knowledgeable musicians. At the same time, as hard and demanding as
the music is, it's still very fun and exciting to play."

Jeff exclusively uses Tama Starclassic Performer EFX Drums, Sabian
Cymbals, DW Pedals, and is endorsed by Grindstix. He is featured on

Gregg Rossetti, co-founder of Suspyre, says, "We are all very excited

Suspyre released their second album, A GREAT DIVIDE, in April 2007 on
Lance King's label Nightmare Records, but due to the buyout of Navarre
Distribution by Koch International, the album's release date in the
U.S.A. was delayed until just recently, hitting stores officially with
Koch on 9/11/07. Suspyre is currently working on their third album, to
be done by December of this year. The band is planning show dates in
the U.S. starting in December in support of A GREAT DIVIDE.

Swedish melodic rockers House Of Shakira are back RETOXED and ready to
freshen up the melodic rock scene with their potent trademark blend of
lush vocals and contagious musical hooks. The band's trademark
melodies and vocals lines are here RETOXED stronger than ever with the
music created to support the vocals and carry the lyrics to the
listener. Not just content with working the main vocal melody the band
have taken great care to ensure the background music and vocal
melodies are there to support the vocals -- the band call this the
"Abba inspiration." The new freshness is attributed to the band being
more positive than ever and this is reflected in the feel of the 11
tracks.

On the album's direction guitarist Anders Lundström states, "It seems
like for every record we twist our idea of making music a notch. Not
much, but still there is a difference through all our releases. We
never got trapped doing a record that followed the trend of the day,
and the return to the 'original sound' of the band. We've just
progressed and followed what happened in our lives. This is a pretty
happy record and that reflects the period of the band and the members'
lives."

RETOXED's freshness is also attributed by the band to them going back
to writing as a collective unit (as they did on their melodic rock
classic debut LINT) in the rehearsal studio instead of five musicians
working individually on ideas as they had done for their previous two
albums. The band state, "The album wrote itself when we finally agreed
on how we were going to write this one." Not only was the working
practice influenced by the band going back to the LINT days, the band
also revisited what made them inspired back then and what has happened
in their lives since to add a new perspective. This coupled with the
band's continued ambition of writing a perfect song spawned the
production writing sessions for what is now RETOXED.

Anyone expecting a remake of LINT will be surprised to hear the fresh
new vigor prevalent in the band's music and House Of Shakira are ready
to bring onboard a new generation of melodic rock lovers worldwide and
hit the road in support of the new release.

American metallers Resistance return with energetic metal fury on
their second full album PATENTS OF CONTROL. Following on from their
acclaimed debut LIES IN BLACK the band have recorded 11 tracks which
see the band honing their sound with a tighter, heavier and more
focused direction and intensity which has been gained from countless
live performances on the U.S. live circuit. PATENTS OF CONTROL also
marks the debut of new guitarist Dave Watson appearing on album with
the band.

PATENTS OF CONTROL is the story of one man's obsession to provide
humanity with the ideal society. Free of crime, Hunger, Poverty, Drug
Addiction and Misery. The lyrical concept focuses on the idea of
thought and behaviour control through the use of devices that have
actual United States patents. It further deals with the idea of world
illuminati using this information to create a new world order.

Musically PATENTS OF CONTROL is a progression from the debut
concentrating on big hooky vocal melodies and background vocals which
may remind the listener of bands such as Iced Earth. The individual
performances on the album hold true to the Resistance sound. Musically
the album is diverse with dark undertones. The band has created
memorable choruses as well making each song stand out on its own
within the concept. With the making of the album the band's goal was
to push their creative abilities as far as possible and write an album
that they, as listeners, would buy and enjoy.

PATENTS OF CONTROL sees Resistance honing their blend of traditional
metal with thrash influences to brutal perfection.

Vintersörg main man Mr V returns with his second album IMAGINATIVE
under the Waterclime name following on from 2006's THE ASTRAL FACTOR
(Lion Music). Once again the basis lies in symphonic and progressive
rock but it is also spiced up with some jazzy crescendos and folk
atmospheres. A large part of the songs are the multilayer vocals as
well as the keyboards with thousands of nuances. Still every other
instrument has its specific role and place in this mixture of styles
and atmospheres. The instrumentation is built around keyboards,
guitars, bass and drums where every instrument is given space. Other
suitable instruments as organs, flutes and mellotron are also present
to give that "organic" touch to it.

Lyrically this album deals a lot with personal translations of dreams
and fantastical visions, written in a poetic tongue to emphasize a
romantic touch. They shine of both sadness and hope and are wrapped in
an aura of magic, as a contraposition to the mechanical and often
static presence of the society. Personal wonderings of how our world
is put together is yet another perspective that's easy to trace in the
words without plunging into religious or political matters.

Mr V's aim with IMAGINATIVE was, "To continue to explore progressive
and symphonic rock through a Nordic atmosphere. Another goal was to
challenge myself to write better and more adventurous songs with both
melody and depth. On the first CD the songs was kind of in the same
vein all along the album, with this one a more diverse and dramatic
approach is taken."

IMAGINATIVE differs from its predecessor THE ASTRAL FACTOR by being
more diverse and with more perfected arrangements. The whole product
is a step up on the ladder of progression; from the songs to the
production and the mastering etc. It's written out of the same love
for the type of music but is more mature and unique.

Dogpound Making An Impression With III

Fiery Swedish melodic metallers Dogpound are kicking up a storm with
media worldwide with their new album III (out now) which is picking up
the best reviews of their career to date which many journalists
praising the band for their individual take on the melodic rock sound.

Twinspirits To Shoot Video For "Fire"

At the end of October, Twinspirits will shoot a promotional video clip
for "Fire" taken from their debut album THE MUSIC THAT WILL HEAL THE
WORLD [out now].

The director of the video will be Elia "Solingo" Cristofoli who is
renowned for his work with many Italian artists like Dolcenera, Laura

-Lillian Axe To Support Shock Rock Legend Alice Cooper -- In Support
Of New Acclaimed Release, WATERS RISING

Think of "theatrical rock legend," and Alice Cooper immediately comes
to mind for many. And the shock rock godfather couldn't have picked a
more deserving band to support him on a string of upcoming southern
dates -- Lillian Axe. After an extended hiatus, the group -- which is
comprised of Derrick LeFevre (lead vocals), Steve Blaze (lead guitars/
vocals), Sam Poitevent (guitars/vocals), Eric Morris (bass), and Ken
Koudelka (drums) -- recently unleashed their first new studio album in
nearly fifteen years (and first for the Metro City Records label),
WATERS RISING.

Originally formed in 1983, the New Orleans-based group soon caught the
attention of Ratt manager Marshall Berle and MCA Records, leading to
the release of the group's self-titled 1988 release (produced by late
Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby), 1989's LOVE + WAR (produced by Tony
Platt, who previously worked with AC/DC), 1991's OUT OF THE DARKNESS
INTO THE LIGHT, 1992's POETIC JUSTICE, and 1993's PSYCHOSCHIZOPHRENIA
(the last two of which were produced by Leif Mases, who previously
worked with Led Zeppelin). Additionally, such Lillian Axe tracks as
"Dream Of A Lifetime," "Show A Little Love," "True Believer," and a
cover of Badfinger's "No Matter What" received attention from rock
radio and MTV.

By the middle of the '90s, Lillian Axe opted to take a break, although
a collection of previously unreleased material was issued in 1999,
FIELDS OF YESTERDAY. With metal once more ruling the charts and the
airwaves by the early 21st century, Lillian Axe was back in business
with live shows, resulting in the release of their first-ever live
album, LIVE 2002, recorded in Houston, Texas. Roadwork has continued
for the band -- including playing to 27,000 fans at Germany's Bang
Your Head Festival in 2004, as well as an extensive European tour a
year later. With new singer LeFevre recently replacing longtime front
man Ron Taylor, WATERS RISING sees a whole new metallic chapter
unfolding for Lillian Axe.

Despite the long break between studio albums, WATERS RISING has been
steadily receiving its share of accolades, including a write-up by All
Music Guide, which raves "If WATERS RISING were released in the late
'80s, there's little doubt that its video clips would have done battle
-- and held their own -- alongside Iron Maiden and Queensrÿche on
'Headbanger's Ball.'" Additionally, KNAC.com gave the album a four and
a half star rating, saying "[Steve Blaze] is the visionary of what he
wants the band to be, and as long as he's a part of any musical
endeavor, you KNOW to expect nothing but the best!"

Hard rockers Dirty Looks are releasing their comeback album GASOLINE
with Perris Records worldwide on October 16th.

-Columbia Records Will Release PLUG ME IN -- The Ultimate Career-
Spanning DVD Box Set Of Live Performances, Interviews And More From
AC/DC On Tuesday, October 16

The first AC/DC release brings together for the very first time an
astonishing five hours of definitive live concert and television
performances -- many of them previously unavailable.

Disc One of the AC/DC PLUG ME IN DVD collection begins with a
performance of "High Voltage" performed in October 1975. Black-and-
white video footage of the notorious St. Albans High School concert on
March 3, 1976; including the very first public performance of "Highway
To Hell" -- from Netherlands television in 1979. Bonus material on
Disc One includes a Bon Scott interview from November 1977.

Disc Two of the AC/DC PLUG ME IN DVD collection covers the band's
second great epoch: the Brian Johnson era which began with the release
of BACK IN BLACK in 1980 and continues to this day.

A deluxe collector's edition of PLUG ME IN -- containing a third DVD
of 21 additional rare performances spanning both the Bon Scott and
Brian Johnson eras.

Leaves' Eyes Set Sail

Napalm recording artists Leaves' Eyes will be performing at the
prestigious Metal Female Voices Festival, on October 20th in Wieze/
Belgium. To mark this special event, the band will be filming the
concert for their forthcoming DVD, and the stage show will include a
full-scale Viking ship. Preparations already well under way, the band
is very much impressed by the building of this ship: "Wow, the stage
ship will be massive! It's really awesome; over one year ago we had
this crazy idea and now it becomes reality!" says Alex Krull. Beside
the work on the ship, there is also a film team busy in Norway and
even more special effects in preparation.

Leaves' Eyes Film In Norway For Upcoming DVD

Vocalists Liv Kristine and Alex Krull have just returned from a
Leaves' Eyes film shooting in Liv's native Norway. Says Liv, "We
travelled with our crew along the incredibly interesting and
breathtaking west coast of Norway. Our journey started in Stavanger,
my hometown. We filmed in sunny and rainy weather, which really shows
the harsh climate of this region. We went through the fjords by boat
and spent hours at the North Sea catching waves. We drove through the
mountains, visited the old town of Stavanger; moreover, we did a lot
of interviews, also with my family members. Most of the material will
be presented on our upcoming DVD. However, it was also very important
to gather nature shots for our special show at the Metal Female Voices
Fest in Wieze, Belgium on October 20th [2007]. We would like the
audience to see that we are very close to nature and that Norway is
part of Leaves' Eyes. A warm thank you to hard-working Stefan
Liebhauser (The Day After) and Gunnar Sauermann (Metal Hammer) who did
a fantastic job, fixing this visually."

The twelve tracks on offer highlight the band's affinity for '70s glam
rock indulgence and his knack for writing hooks as wide as the
Atlantic Ocean. Featuring a stunning cover of the Bay City Rollers'
classic "Yesterday's Hero" (sung by drummer Timothy Jay), and
highlighting Sluggo (of Oingo Boingo fame) on a terrific saxophone
solo, MELODRAMA also sees Spiders & Snakes covering themselves with
"Fear Of Flying" which originally appeared on the band's 1992 release
ARACHNO II, with rewritten lyrics by Spiders & Snakes co-founder Jay.
The band has written a wealth of material for the new album, including
tracks such as the Cheap Trick inspired "Shoot Me Down" (written and
sung by bassist Phil St. Vincent), the in your face hard rocker
"Kicks," and the melancholic ballad, "Another Lonely Day."

With the release of MELODRAMA Spiders & Snakes will be taking the new
album to the masses with touring planned both on domestic ground as
well as throughout the European territories in 2007 and 2008.

TRIBUZY - EXECUTION: LIVE REUNION (DVD) (A+) Locomotive Records, 2007

Um...wow? Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. This thing
is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. If you are even the tiniest fan of classic, speedy
melodic Eurometal a la Helloween, it is mandatory that you own this
DVD. Brazilian singer Renato Tribuzy (Thoten) assembled a top-notch
band around him and added quite a guest list -- a who's who of the
metal world including Bruce Dickinson, Roy Z, Ralf Scheepers, Roland
Grapow, Mat Sinner, Kiko Loureiro, Dennis Ward, Chris Dale, and the
reclusive Michael Kiske -- for his excellent 2005 solo album
EXECUTION, and this DVD captures for posterity a multiple-night stand
that saw most of the album's lineup reunite on stage. (Hence the
title.) The disc's layout is pretty basic -- concert, bonus interview,
photo gallery -- but that's fine 'cuz you won't want to screw around
too much before watching the amazing gig. Tribuzy's main band consists
of guitarists Frank Schieber (Thoten) and Gustavo Silveira (Nordheim),
bassist Ivan Guilhon (Vulgar, Nordheim), keyboardist Sidney Sohn, and
drummer Flavio Pascarillo (Nordheim), and is tight enough to merit its
own DVD. The boys blaze through a trio of EXECUTION originals (check
the wicked mosh part in "Divine Disgrace") before the guests start
popping up. Angra guitar lord Loureiro, who played quite a few solos
on EXECUTION, joins the band for the pounding, riff-tastic "Forgotten
Time" (marvel at Tribuzy's closing high note!), the simply amazing
"Execution" (I swear Loureiro solos through the whole song, complete
with whammy bar), and a cover of Sinner's "The Nature Of Evil," which
also features Mat Sinner dueting with Tribuzy. The hulking Ralf
Scheepers (Primal Fear) handles Kiske's parts in "Absolution" -- he
actually comes out and starts a brief crowd sing-along before utterly
taking over the stage, and then dissolves into a brilliant duet with
Tribuzy -- and guitarist Roland Grapow sneaks onstage to play his solo
later in the song. Amazing. Scheepers stays, Grapow leaves, Tribuzy
himself leaves, and Sinner rejoins (this time on bass) -- for a cover
of Primal Fear's "Final Embrace"! Too cool, especially when there's a
shot of Tribuzy offstage -- at his own gig, mind you -- cheering on
the band. Then the biggest guest star is saved for the end. At first
it's basically the Bruce Dickinson band as he, guitarist Z, and
SKUNKWORKS bassist Dale join part of Tribuzy's band for a cover of the
immense power ballad "Tears Of The Dragon" (from Dickinson's 1994 solo
album BALLS TO PICASSO). This song is better than I remembered, with
Mr. Z soloing away, leading the charge through the amped-up section.
The DVD concludes with Tribuzy and Dickinson singing a duet on
EXECUTION's "Beast In The Light," and while certainly cool, the
performance is a little more awkward than the show's other duets. Part
of that stems from what appears to be Dickinson reading lyrics off the
floor, and, well, methinks the Air Raid Siren just isn't *that* used
to sharing the stage and spotlight with other vocalists! There are
some killer dueling high note moments that made me think of the Steel
Dragon concert scene in "Rock Star," with Chris "Izzy" Coles vs. Bobby
Beers -- you know, where the young gun gets the best of the old
master. :) *Everyone* comes back onstage for a final bow, and the
show's over. Phew! Just plain awesome. Besides all the stellar
performances, the disc comes up aces due to the pro multi-camera work,
seamless integration of both color and black-and-white footage,
informative 22-minute documentary, and just-the-right-length photo
gallery. (Note: I've heard talk of a CD version of this release, with
Tribuzy rarity "The Means" replacing "Final Embrace" and "Tears Of The
Dragon," and the Web site also mentions this DVD apparently was
supposed to include a big jam cover of ZZ Top's "Tush." There's
footage in the bonus features of Dickinson playing drums -- perhaps
that was during "Tush"? Woulda been cool to see that, too.)
