-Iron Maiden Announce Full Details Of LIVE AFTER DEATH DVD

Finally available on DVD for the first time, New Door Records/UMe are
proud to announce the eagerly awaited release of the Double Disc DVD
of LIVE AFTER DEATH, the legendary recording of Maiden's four night
stand at Long Beach Arena, California, in 1984.

In the stores February 5th, 2008, the release will coincide with the
start of the band's "Somewhere Back In Time World Tour" on which they
will recreate many of the aspects of this original and spectacular
show.

Disc One contains the recording of this full 90-minute concert.
Originally filmed on 35mm, the footage comes alive on DVD resulting in
a visually stunning film that far outstrips the usual live video of
the '80s. The disc carries two sound options -- the original concert
audio specially mixed into 5.1 Surround Sound by Kevin Shirley,
Maiden's producer since 1999, plus the original stereo sound track by
Martin Birch, the band's producer from 1981 to 1993. Originally
released on video in 1985, this has been largely unavailable for the
past 20 years.

Disc Two has Part 2 of THE HISTORY OF IRON MAIDEN, continuing on the
Maiden story from THE EARLY DAYS DVD, along with rare and unseen bonus
footage in the form of BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN, Rock In Rio '85, and
'ELLO TEXAS, all in all giving a total running time of well over three
hours. Plus of course the photo galleries, relevant promo videos,
artwork galleries, tour dates, tour programme and other features which
all combine to make Maiden DVDs a very special and utterly
comprehensive treat for their fans.

Manager Rod Smallwood explained "The original video of LIVE AFTER
DEATH has not been readily available for a long time so its good that
we finally got around to this. It was one of the first full concerts
to be filmed after the advent of video and of course the live album,
recorded on a different night to the video, has long been considered
to be one of the seminal Metal live albums and has sold millions
since. Fans have been begging us to do this DVD for some time now but
we wanted to wait until we were able to recreate that whole tour to go
with it and also to make it part of a series of DVDs that we are
putting together around the band's history. And of course we are
making sure that now we have got to it we will be giving the fans
everything we can find from that period!!"

Background historical information:

LIVE AFTER DEATH was filmed and recorded towards the tail end of "The
World Slavery Tour" over a record breaking four sold out nights at Los
Angeles' 13,200 capacity Long Beach Arena. Featuring tracks from their
first five albums both the album and video topped the international
charts around the world. The tour opened in Warsaw in August 1984 and
concluded in Los Angeles July 1985. It covered 193 concerts in 21
countries, including an incredible 112 arena shows in just the U.S.A.
and Canada (both where the album went Platinum), and saw the band
playing to over a million fans in North America alone. This was the
most ambitious, longest and most gruelling tour Maiden ever
experienced.

As the second instalment to 2004's international chart topping THE
EARLY DAYS DVD the second disc features the highly anticipated THE
HISTORY OF IRON MAIDEN PART 2 which gives an insight, humorous and
otherwise, into the making of the record as well as exploring the
creativity and the background pressures created through the sheer hard
work and the physical toll that comes with success at this level for a
touring band.

Also packed in on the second disc are more extras with three more rare
and unseen gems from the period :-

BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN, which was first released in April 1985 as a
35 minute video documentary, illustrates the quite remarkable story of
how Iron Maiden became the first major band from the West to play
large arenas in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Hungary at a
time when these markets were still very much "Behind the Iron
Curtain." This 57 minute DVD version features a lot of extra footage
not included on the original retail release. Prior to this DVD the
only time it had been seen was on a special MTV airing in 1984. With
complete access on the tour, filmmaker and director Kenny Fueurman,
gives the viewer a candid insight into the world of Maiden at this
groundbreaking time in their career. It also contains interviews with
some of the thousands of fans who attended their shows, and their
reaction to having Maiden play there for the first time despite their
album being out of reach in the old Eastern Bloc countries, where at
the time it would cost almost a month's wages! Also included is the
infamous incident of the band gate crashing an unsuspecting private
wedding party and becoming the evenings "entertainment" in return for
a Polish vodka or three!

Extensive research allowed the producers to retrieve footage of
highlights from the band's biggest ever show when they played in
Brazil to a sea of rock fans estimated to be somewhere between 250,000
to 350,000 on the first night of the first Rock In Rio festival in
February, 1985. Maiden went on just prior to headliners Queen and
cemented their place in the heart of South American fans. Despite best
endeavours this 50 minutes clip of extremely rare concert footage is
admittedly not in the greatest shape and in parts was beyond repair,
but at the request of fans hungry for a record of the historical
performance, it has been included in the package as a special bonus.

Another small but also previously unavailable 15 minute feature is
'ELLO TEXAS, which gives a candid glimpse of Iron Maiden performing to
the U.S. audiences with further band interview footage at the Alamo.
Historically this recording from 1983 should have been included In
2004's THE EARLY DAYS DVD but it only came to light during research
for this LIVE AFTER DEATH DVD and is included now for interest.

In essence, LIVE AFTER DEATH, the double disc DVD gives over five
hours of content, giving the most complete and in depth exploration of
Iron Maiden during what was considered their most pivotal album and
tour of their long and distinguished history.

The February 5th DVD release coincides with the start of the recently
announced "Somewhere Back in Time World Tour 2008" which opens in
India at the beginning of February :-

Released November 16th 2007
LMC221
EAN6419922002216

Angel Of Eden is Artension guitarist Roger Stafffelbach's new band
project. Having recorded seven albums with the prog metallers Roger
has formed his own band in his own vision with the focus on top
quality metal with neo-classical influences. The result is THE END OF
NEVER -- ten tracks of melodic harmonies, neo-classical lead work,
potent riffs and grinding heavy metal rhythms all wrapped in a
powerful production with superb artwork.

Fuelled by Roger's virtuoso guitar work, the melodic soaring vocals of
Carsten "Lizard" Schulz [Evidence One, ex-Domain], keyboard wizardry
of Mistheria [solo, Bruce Dickinson] and, the powerhouse drumming of
Rami Ali [Evidence One] THE END OF NEVER is a first class album from
some of metal's most respected names offering lush vocal melodies,
pulsating rhythms and virtuoso lead breaks within captivating songs.
The album is also home to several notable guest performances in the
guise of bassist Steve Di Giorgio [ex-Testament], John West [ex-Royal
Hunt/Artension], David Shankle [ex-Manowar] and Ferdy Doernberg [Axel
Rudi Pell].

THE END OF NEVER is the start of Roger Staffelbach setting out with
his own vision, more accessible than his work in Artension yet with

Palace Terrace - FLYING THROUGH INFINITY
Released November 16th 2007
LMC219
EAN6419922002193

Palace Terrace is a progressive and neoclassical rock band with a
theatrical and modern edge. Their music combines superb musicianship,
beautifully crafted melodies, unique harmonic progressions, compelling
stories, counterpoint, large orchestrations, wide dynamics, odd
meters, stunning vocal arrangements and elaborate forms.

Palace Terrace was formed when composer and world renowned guitarist
virtuoso George Bellas [ex-Ring Of Fire, ex-Mogg/Way] contacted Tenor
Vocalist Jonathan R. Marshall and invited him to fill the main
vocalist spot in the band. The two discussed how they would like to
see the band debut as well as evolve into the future. Sharing very
similar visions the two began writing their first album FLYING THROUGH
INFINITY. The search for an extraordinary percussionist was much of a
concern for George and was a long but fruitful ambition when he
finally discovered the prolific talents of Percussionist Sasha Horn.

FLYING THROUGH INFINITY is a combination of progressive and
neoclassical styles. The music contains extensive odd meters (with one
section in 99/32 time), melodic vocal lines sung by John Marshall and
rich vocal harmonies sung by George Bellas, along with big
orchestrations and guitar solos that are drenched in feeling. The
album is filled with a very wide dynamic range. Some of the vocal
arrangements were written in strict four-part counterpoint and others
using imitative counterpoint. The album is very diverse in different
types of songs, it contains progressive songs, neoclassical and even
simple commercial structures.

On the album's concept George Bellas states, "The essence of the album
is about the journey of a soul travelling through the infinite
universe and other dimensions within it. The story is really about all
of us here on Earth and the wonder of what happens after we're gone.
The spirit in the story is just a character that represents any one of
us... wondering who we are, will we find loved ones on 'the other
side,' feeling the need to complete unfinished business after we pass
away... The soul's journey includes visiting loved ones on earth and
reflecting on cherished memories all the while searching for its way
to eternal peace and trying to find its ultimate purpose. At the end
of the story the spirit finally finds inner peace, its ultimate
purpose and a place to call home."

This album is characterized by George's strong penchant for his unique
and well defined composing style, as showcased in his previous
releases, but differs from previous releases in that this is not an
instrumental album, but rather a vocal based album. George debuts his
vocal composing and arranging abilities as being strong and unique,
evident with his inclusion of not just single melodic lines or stacked
harmonies, but with his well versed ability to compose in a strict
classical four-part chorale style.

Daniel Flores Talks About The Story Of Mind's Eye - A GENTLEMAN'S
HURRICANE

Daniel Flores talks about the story behind every murder in his new
concept story A GENTLEMAN'S HURRICANE, the critically acclaimed new
album from Mind's Eye -- out now on Lion Music.

A GENTLEMAN'S HURRICANE

As you all may know the story is about a top assassin called Adam
Evangelista. His is really having second thoughts about his profession
and wants to take a step outside this world. He can't do that before
his last job. When trying to dig inside his own mind he takes refuge
in a local church where he then meets Father Cavallero Dimori who is a
retired head priest from the Vatican. Adam poor his heart out for him
and confesses all his former crimes to the shocked priest, as you all
know the priests take a vow of secrecy so he can't tell anyone about
these confessions.

01. PRAYING FOR CONFESSION

We meet our hero or assassin if you will, after he has shot three
shots in the woods... why? At this point we just don't know. He goes
out of the woods and washes his hands in an empty public toilet. He
starts to speak about his past when looking into the dirty mirror. He
goes back in time to where he is going to speak with the priest (as
you hear the children sing) Adam is walking trough the church's
hallway, he suddenly sees his own reflection and can't stand his face,
he crushes the mirror. By doing that he goes even further back to
history where he was an orphan where he was badly molested and hurt by
the headmaster. He learnt what pain was and it was then when he knew
what we wanted to do when he would become old, a man who hurt other
people, let other know the pain he went through. At the end of the
song we go back to when Adam talks to the Priest Cavallero in the
confession booth.

02. SEVEN DAYS

This is the first murder he chose to talk about. The murder of Olof
Palme; prime minister of Sweden and leader of the social democratic
party (whose logo is a red rose). Adam has much regret of this
particular assassination as he felt Palme was a great man... but
orders are orders. Adam takes orders from the Illuminati who is the
counterpart of the church and he gets all his orders from his contact
person, an ice cold Englishman who's name will never be revealed.
During the confession of this murder Adam tries to give the priest a
picture of what he goes trough as a professional assassin. He has
seven days to pour his heart out before his last job.

03. ASSASSINATION

This is where he tells the priest about a job done in the late
Sixties. A man named Robert Kennedy. Adam has a huge headache when he
speaks about this, ironically he shot Robert in the head three
times... maybe he is feeling the pain of his victims... The priest
orders him to take a pill.

04. CHAOS UNLEASHED

Adam does not feel much regret when he speaks about next man to feel
his anger. Martin Luther King. What strikes Adam is that most people
feel that the whole thing is just a show to be seen on TV. He tells
the priest about the people who watched the story on TV in a fast
restaurant next day after the job was done, how can people just sit
there and eat while watching this? Adam explains how he used the media
coverage to hide himself being dressed as a homeless man that day.
Maybe that's why this country is collapsing, people just don't give a
damn anymore...

05. HELL'S INVITATION

The priest tries now to get Adam into seeing the light of a religious
life. He tries to make Adam think he is a just the hand of God. Adam
does not believe in the afterlife and God means nothing to him, he
knows that if he would exist he would never let Adam in heaven anyway,
not after what he has done anyway. He compares Jesus to Malcolm X,
another victim of Adam's gun. Like Jesus, Malcolm also carried a
cross, a cross which he carried for his people and just like Jesus he
was betrayed by his own apostles.

06. FEED MY REVOLVER

Adam now recalls another murder and this is where he gets to hear the
voice of Illuminati. He feels proud to hear this voice and follows the
directions over the phone. As he recalls this victim is none other
than John F. Kennedy, Robert's brother... Adam feels guilt coming over
him as he has always wished for a brother... He killed them both...
how could he? Adams explains exactly how things happen to father
Cavallero telling him that he had huge help from his friends in the
CIA. This is actually Adam's first big job and he recalls having no
regrets whatsoever back then, not bad for a 20 year old kid.

07. ASHES TO ASHES

Adam quickly goes to a more recent job. The assassination of Georges
Besse the director of Renault (the car manufacture) who has just
released a large sum of workers, a perfect change for Adam and the
Illuminate to get rid of him as he has lost credibility and can no
longer be part of the Illuminati anymore. Adam also explains that
during that night a woman has come to seek him, apparently it's his
daughter "Pandora" and she hands him a gift...

08. THE HOUR OF NEED

Adam recalls this story very well and it was the first time he had to
kill a woman. This woman was apparently a huge movie star who also
made money as a high society call girl, her name? Yes, it's was Norma
Jean... Adam disguised as an American, multi million dollar man
explains to the priest how he felt before poisoning this woman to
death, right after having sex with her... He had to shut her up;
apparently the president of the U.S.A. had an affair with her and said
too much. Poor girl...

09. RED WINTER SIRENS

For a long time Adam wanted to go to Russia. He went there by train
from a nearby country. Unfortunately for Adam vacation was over when
he received the message to kill national democratic leader Giorgi
Chanturia, in a cold December night. Giorgia's first president had to
be eliminated by four Assassins, Adam recalls meeting a lot of friends
from the times in IRA in Ireland and the man responsible for
introducing Adam to the Illuminati. He recalls the former U.S.S.R. as
a cold and forgotten world...

10. SKIN CRAWL

Now to Italy, says Adam to Father Cavallero. In the late Seventies
Adam was ordered to frame and kill a man named Giuseppe Impastato, a
political activist from Palermo. Adam explains that he made it look
like a suicide but in reality it was an assassination by the
Illuminati. This poor man had become a problem for them and they
needed to get rid of him before he became too strong.

11. GRAVEYARD HANDS

As he told the priest earlier, Adam had joined the IRA in his 30s and
this is where he tells the story of Christopher Ewart-Biggs, a British
selected governor in Ireland he assassinated, a man hated by the Irish
people. He recalls the people of Ireland being a happy people with
many scars to carry from the long bad treatment of the British
authorities. As Adam is half Italian half Irish (according to his
papers) he has a special place in his heart for the Irish people.

12. SAY GOODNIGHT

This is where Adam starts to recognize the Priest Cavallero, he has
heard his voice somewhere before, where can it be? While telling him
the story of a job which to him was scary and yet very fulfilling of a
man named Juan Jesus Posadas Ocampo from Mexico a head priest and
respected by many. Adam chooses to tell the story to Father Cavallero
in a poetic way as he doesn't want to scare away him. Father Cavallero
is shocked to stand before the killer of one of his peers. Adam
suddenly recognizes the voice of Father Cavallero... Could it be? No!?

13. PANDORA'S MUSICAL BOX

Adam examines the voice of Father Cavallero in a much different way
now he knows that it's him, he is so sure. He has to make a
decision... Adam starts to tell father Cavallero about his past as an
orphan. Father Cavallero recognizes a lot of what Adam talks about.
Could he be? Wonders the old priest... No, it's impossible he comforts
himself. Adam on the other side of the confession booth is sure,
absolutely sure that Father Cavallero is the dreaded headmaster from
back in orphanage school. Adam's saviour is also his worst demon, what
can he do? Should he kill him or forgive him? Turn the other cheek?

Is the ending a happy or a sad ending? That's completely up to you the
listener to decide.

If you buy the album you'll figure out why the story starts out in the
woods, as the story starts with the ending just like in a Quentin
Tarantino movie.

Hope you will like the story and may this shed a light on you the
listener.

MCM - 1900 - HARD TIMES
Released November 16th 2007
LMC220
EAN6419922002209

Three of the world's most respected musicians in Alex Masi, Randy
Coven and John Macaluso live on one stage with the sole intention of
creating a moment in time. MCM's 1900 - HARD TIMES is a window to what
happens during an MCM performance. Recorded at different shows from
the trio's live shows throughout the U.S.A. and Central America the
album is an electrifying showcase of immense musicianship and vision.

1900 – HARD TIMES is the result of spontaneous theme elaboration done
on the spot with guitarist Alex Masi commenting, "The only written,
composed parts are pretty obvious, most intros, some outros and
occasionally some bit in the middle but each piece include at least
80% of improvisation." Masi, Coven and Macaluso find the openness of
the MCM material a welcome change to their normal fully scripted
studio sessions with drummer John Macaluso stating, "MCM gives us an
outlet for our need to let go of all the 'do's and don'ts' associated
with the life of a professional musician. Sometime the level of
synchronicity among us is downright mysterious... when it happens it
feels like 'something' else is moving our hands and fingers and all we
have to do is get out of our own way and let things happen." Bassist
Randy Coven's adds on MCM's approach, "It's absolute freedom from
pre-fabricated structures and disregard of general expectations and
that's exactly where we are in MCM, listen with your mind wide open."

The trio's goal in making the album was to try to convey the feeling
of an MCM show to a bigger audience and show also a more immediate
side than the one displayed on the previous studio album RITUAL
FACTORY (Lion Music). The musical influences of MCM come from
everywhere -- jazz, qawwali, drum n bass, heavy rock, hindu and
carnatic music, etc., yet the freedom shown allows transitions between
these genres. 1900 – HARD TIMES is freedom of expression at its peak
from three of the most distinguished performers in music today.

-Pandora's Electric Box

For those of you in the Los Angeles area, guitarist Stuart Smith,
drummer Richie Onori, keyboard player Stuart Simone of Heaven & Earth
have joined forces with Edgar Winter bass player Mark Meadows and
powerhouse vocalist Joe Retta have formed a band on the side called
Pandora's Electric Box.

Says Smith, "We don't go on tour till next year with Heaven & Earth
and I was getting bored not playing live so I called up a bunch of
friends who wanted to go out and have some fun playing and we got a
regular Wednesday night gig at The Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hills which
is turning out to be a blast as we've had a packed house every week.
The Aqua Lounge is a really cool basement club which harkens back to
the days of the old London Speakeasy with it's two bars, restaurant
and stage. We play a mixture of blues and classic rock and so far
we've had Keith Emerson, Kelly Hansen and Howard Leese come down and
sit in with us."

The Aqua Lounge is located at 424 North Beverly Drive, one block east
of fashionable Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Call (310) 275-8511 for
table reservations.

-Cosmosquad Confirmed For Exclusive Fender Event!

Heralded Southern California metal fusioneers Cosmosquad, featuring
acclaimed guitarist Jeff Kollman (Glenn Hughes, Mogg/Way), Canadian
drummer Shane Gaalaas (B'z, Diesel Machine), and bassist Christopher
Maloney (Dweezil Zappa, Hardline) have been confirmed for the fourth
annual "Fender Bass Bash," a special "invitation only" event hosted
online by http://www.rehearsals.com/ , on November 15 at Center
Staging in Burbank, CA.

Cosmosquad will also make another appearance at the Baked Potato, 3787
W. Cahuenga Blvd., Universal City, CA on Friday, November 16 for what
will be their final L.A. show of the year. The band are currently
editing live HD multi-cam footage from their recent Musician's
Institute gig for the first ever Cosmosquad DVD, tentatively scheduled
for release sometime after the new year.

In related news, guitarist Jeff Kollman has formed a new, as-of-yet
unnamed instrumental group featuring drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili
Peppers, Glenn Hughes), bassist Kevin Chown (Edwin Dare, Uncle
Cracker), and keyboardist Ed Roth (Glenn Hughes, Impellitteri). "The
chemistry between us is just really awesome!" enthuses Kollman.
"Everyone comes from a bit of a different place musically. It's really
geling together as a cool sound. Ed's got the funk and '70s R&B thing
going on; Chown's a mix of Detroit Rock and Motown, and Chad brings
that sick rock/funk groove that's helped sustain the Chili Peppers for
all these years. As for myself, I protect and defend the rock guitar!"
The band's debut album, which is due out in early 2008, has already
been recorded and is currently in the mixing stages.

On the clinic front, Jeff Kollman will be embarking on a one-week/
four-country tour of South East Asia for Fender Guitars, with whom the
guitarist linked up in 2006, before closing out the year with a solo
performance at the Baked Potato on December 21 with Christopher
Maloney on bass and Glen Sobel (Sixx AM, Beautiful Creatures) on
drums. The itinerary is as follows:

Nov. 27 - Cebu, Phillipines
Nov. 28. - Manila, Phillipines
Nov. 29 - Taipei, Taiwan
Nov. 30 - Kaohsiung , Taiwan
Dec. 01 - Bangkok, Thailand

-Excerpt From Slash's New Book Now Available Online!

"When I turned sixteen, Mark Mansfield threw a party for me at his
parents' house in the Hollywood Hills and my band was all set to play.
For my birthday, my girlfriend, Melissa, gave me a gram of coke and
that night I learned a valuable lesson: I do not like to combine
cocaine and guitar. I did a few lines just before we went on and I
could hardly play a note; it was really embarrassing. It's been the
same the very few times since that I've made that mistake: nothing
sounded right, I could not find the groove, and I really didn't want
to be playing at all. It felt like I had never played guitar before,
or as awkward as the first time I tried to ski."

That's just a small sampling of what can be found in Slash's new book,
simple titled "Slash," which is in stores now. To read how the rest of
that story goes, publisher Harper Collins has posted the entire third
chapter from the book online here:

http://www.harpercollins.com/book/browseinside.aspx?
pguid=32619618051991&user=12345&isbn=9780061351426&browsePosition=1

Additionally, Harper Collins has teamed up with Ultimate-Guitar.com to
give away a $5,000 1958 VOS Les Paul guitar signed by Slash, as well
as a copy of "Guitar Heroฎ III: Legends Of Rock" for Xbox 360. More

-Slough Feg "Hard In The U.S.A." Tour Starts This Week!

San Fran's contemporary innovators of the NWOBHM style kick off a
wicked U.S. tour in their hometown, in support of their latest odyssey
HARDWORLDER.

The Lord Weird Slough Feg, whose name is derived from a character in
ancient Irish mythology, originates from Central Pennsylvania. The
band relocated to San Francisco, California in 1990 in hopes of
resurrecting the ailing "true metal" scene in the United States. The
band quickly gained a reputation as, "The band San Francisco loved to
hate" by taking a stand against the trends and incorporating stage
savagery with strong visual imagery.

Three demos were produced by the band in the early to mid-1990s. These
were followed up by a self-produced, self-titled debut CD released in
1996. Scoring points for originality in the European underground, they
aroused the interest of Dragonheart in 1998 and TWILIGHT OF THE IDOLS
was released in 1999 on Dragonheart Records. This was followed by DOWN
AMONG THE DEADMEN, released in the year 2000, and Sci-Fi epic
TRAVELLER in 2003. In 2005 the band moved to the Italian label Cruz
Del Sur, and shortened their name to simply, Slough Feg with the
release of ATAVISM.

...and 2007 brings the dawn of HARDWORLDER. Slough Feg's style is an
eclectic mix of Celtic Folk and Traditional Metal peppered with
buckets of energy and lyrical depth.

-Auger Bane

Auger Bane will be celebrating the launch of their album ON WINGS OF
FALLEN ROCK on November 14th at the e bar in Croydon, London.

http://www.airplaydirect.com/augerbane

Auger Bane were spawned from Mitcham in 2005 by lead guitarist Darren
Beasley. Drummer Chris Mee, Bass player Ross McLeod and second
guitarist Shane Carpenter had played together for some time in
Conspiracy and Blend with Darren and they were drafted in to complete
the musical lineup.

As the band began to form Beasley's music into something of their own,
the search for a singer began. Darren was introduced to Daniel
Shepard, lead singer with occasional Merton covers legends Sweetleaf
through a mutual friend aware that both Darren and Daniel were looking
for new original project. Invited to a jam session with the rest of
the band, something clicked straightaway and the 1st session ended
with two near-complete songs still featured in the live set and on the
debut album today.

In the late summer of 2005 the four-song SCREAM SESSIONS demo
featuring the songs "Dragonfly," "Black Wine," "The Long Walk" and
"Keep Us Strong" was recorded during a long and arduous night for ฃ40
with the assistance of red bull, red eyes, stella artois and some of
the worst recording equipment known to man. With only two small gigs
under their belt, Auger Bane entered Sutton's Battle of the Bands 2005
off the back of their demo. Three heats later the band were crowned
winners, with a showcase gig plus recording with the prestigous Sir
Harry Cowell their prize, the end result being the original take of
"The Long Walk" which you can hear on the four-track HOUSE OF THE
SCORPION EP which was unleashed in the last few weeks of 2006 to
precede the recording of their debut album which began in late spring
2007.

In between the EP and the recording of the new album ON WINGS OF
FALLEN ROCK some lineup changes took place. Ross McLeod stated his
desire to hang up his beard and bass once a replacement could be found
and that man was the mighty Max Torres, a mental Brazilian found
wandering around Streatham telling everyone how to say "Robert
Trujillo" properly. His impact on the live performances of the band
have been striking to say the least. Following Ross off of the Bane
Bus next was Shane Carpenter, the rhythm guitarist due to the age old
problem of "musical differences." After this blow the band were unsure
how to progress until a first gig at the Kingston Peel as a four-piece
made everything clear. With more space on stage and more space in the
music, Auger Bane began to progress further, becoming tighter with
every performance.

Now with the end of 2007 in sight, the band are aiming at the next
level. The awesome debut album ON WINGS OF FALLEN ROCK has been
released on their own label Negative Earth to widespread acclaim
featuring 11 amazing and diverse tracks. Gigs of note this year
include the Mean Fiddler, London, two headline slots at the Kingston
Peel and a headlining slot on the unsigned stage at The Bulldog Bash.

The influences of the band are many and varied, however some of the
bands mentioned by people looking for comparison are Black Sabbath,
Soundgarden, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Alice In Chains, Corrosion Of
Conformity, Kyuss and Black Label Society. However with the strength
of their live performances and the quality of their songwriting to the
fore, Auger Bane continue to strive for their own sound that fans of
all types of rock and metal are bound to love, regardless of genre and
scene.

Auger Bane are:

Darren Beasley - Lead guitar

-YOUNG BUCKETHEAD VOLs. 1 and 2 | MVD Visual

Buckethead - YOUNG BUCKETHEAD VOL. 1

This DVD begins with the Deli Creeps' complete concert on 11/24/90 at
the Cactus Club in San Francisco. The lineup is Maximum Bob, Pinch
Face, Tony Black, and Buckethead, who delivers a stunning performance.
The next sequence captures the band's soundcheck earlier that day,
with lots of great guitar riffing and a powerful Maximum Bob
performance. On the weirder side, "Buckethead In The Basement"
presents Buck up close in a translucent mask, playing cinematic
keyboard synth accompaniment to a buddy's insane ravings. This
completely unrehearsed footage captures Buckethead's improvisational
genius on keyboard, including some great "Giant Robot" passages.
"Buckethead's Backyard Solo" presents the full 14-minute guitar blitz
(the Guitar World footage shows only a portion). Buckethead goes from
shredding to bass-string-popping to "Hog Bitch Stomp" to horror movie
themes, original shards, and a sublime "I Love My Parents." This truly
has to be seen to be believed.

Buckethead - YOUNG BUCKETHEAD VOL. 2

This DVD starts with the Deli Creeps' complete 4/3/91 concert at the
Kennel Club in San Francisco. The lineup is Maximum Bob, Pinch Face,
Tony Black, and Buckethead, who delivers a spectacular performance
with the camera just a few feet away. The next segment captures the
band's legendary San Francisco debut, at the I-Beam on 9/1/90, with
Buck, Maximum Bob, Pinch Face, and bassist Saucy Patches pull out all
the stops. Seldom has Buckethead, who plays shirtless, been so
animated in his playing. The set includes "Dream Girl" and "Hog Bitch
Stomp." Next up is a hysterical backstage sequence later that night.
In "Buckethead In The Park," the masked speaks -- about growing up in
a chicken coop, his heroes and inspirations, favorite methods of
mayhem, and even does the Jowls speech. Honest.

ETERNAL DESCENT - LOSING FAITH (B) Incendium Records/Serge
Entertainment, 2007
12 tracks, RT: 50:45
Eternal Descent is an interesting new project created by London
musician Llexi Leon, bringing together a potent mix of gothic,
industrial, metal, ambient, pop and film soundtrack influences.
Imagine if Sade got together with Nine Inch Nails for a dark movie
score, or Evanescence merged with Prodigy and threw in some Steve Vai
inspired guitar work and you have an idea of what Eternal Descent is
all about. "Into Darkness" is a great track to start off the CD, with
dramatic use of sound effects, a hauntingly melodic guitar theme and
beautiful vocals from Elysha West. "Whispers" follows effectively,
with a catchy rhythm and impassioned lyrics. "Race Against The End" is
another highlight, making great use of ethereal piano set against
distorted riffs and more of Elysha's soaring voice. Eternal Descent
often make use of repetitive, hypnotic rhythms, and it's to their
credit that they are able to keep the music captivating, often with
instrumental sections featuring Llexi's guitar skills, as on
"Ascension." Eternal Descent's greatest strength is most likely the
addictive melodies contained within the arrangements and further
actualized by Elysha's enchanting performance, especially on tracks
such as the driving "City Falls" and atmospheric "Endless." LOSING
FAITH does not stop with the music either, as the songs will
correspond to comic books and videos in an ongoing series featuring
the anime-inspired characters of the story. Definitely a band to keep
an eye on, LOSING FAITH is an album recommended to those looking for
something unique among the homogeny of contemporary heavy rock
music...
