-Darkest Seed's Guitarist Launches MySpace Page

Ricardo Reolon, guitarist of the heavy/hard band Darkest Seed,
launches his page on MySpace. The musician is endorsed by Cheruti (now
Ledur) and among other bands and projects he played in Burning In Hell
and recorded their debut album. On his page MP3 and videos are
available besides of his biography and other information.

Recently Ricardo released with Darkest Seed the EP THE SEED IS RISING,
which has a cover for Queen's "The Show Must Go On" and two new songs,
which are available for download on the band's Web site. Actually they
are recording the first album, which shall be released in the first
half of 2008.

Mondongo Canibale release the first album of this Spanish outfit. As
Light Dies is an eclectic and experimental band that mixes styles as
black, doom, death metal, folk, contemporaneous music and progressive
rock. A STEP THROUGH THE REFLECTION is a very ambitious recording,
exploring new paths in their music, turning it much more extreme and
twisted, trying new sounds and atmospheres. About 70 minutes of music
with influences that may remind to bands as Ved Buens Ende, Orphanage,

VOICES we'll find an excellent effort of pure doom metal, plenty of

by George Marino (Metallica, Aerosmith, Type O Negative). A conceptual
album, with a history of love and war that goes around ten chapters of
passion and misery, in short music full of life. Here we have brand
new artwork, one live track, one video clip and two live videos as
extras. Among their influences we could name to diverse bands such as
Moonspell, Metallica, Paradise Lost, Rammstein, Pink Floyd or Black
Sabbath. If you are into doom or melodic rock/metal in general don't
miss this, 'cause it's an album worthy of being near the classics of
the genre.

Sweden, and concretely Gothenburg, has been one of the most active
scenes in the rock and metal world. From this cold city arise now
Speedfreaks to become in one of the local rock icons, although with a
music far from the so-called "Gothenburg sound." The band is back in
this second album with a more mature, personal and powerful sound,
that take roots in bands as Motörhead, Black Label Society, Black
Sabbath and The Cult among others, but obtaining their own and
original sound, based in a mixture between rock 'n' roll, hard rock,
plus some touches of metal and punk. High energy and pure Rock 'n'
Roll, plenty of power, aggressiveness, good melodies, catchy songs
full of brilliant riffs and an excellent cover of Nazareth's "Somebody
To Roll."

-This is kinda funny -- the lone CD I got for Christmas this year was
King Diamond's GIVE ME YOUR SOUL...PLEASE from my wife. Turns out she
was shopping and simply took a shot in the dark on a CD for me. I
opened it and the expression on my face prompted her to ask, "You do
like those guys, right?" I said yes and laughed because the cover art
-- featuring a blood-spattered little girl -- just oozes Christmas
spirit, right? :) (Pretty good album, though, so it was a nice
purchase.) I then had to listen to "No Presents For Christmas" to
complete the magical moment.

-I also got the third KISSOLOGY set and -- Christmas miracle! --
actually managed some free time to watch parts of it. The Easter Egg
(disc #2, I think) that shows the reunited original lineup doing a
makeup-less soundcheck is pretty cool (but far too short). I watched
most of the REVENGE-era concert with my 2-year-old in the room, and I
had a hard time pleading my case that Eric Singer and Paul Stanley
are, in fact, boys. My kid kept asking "Who is she?" and saying
"That's a girl, Daddy!" the whole time.
