-Glenn Hughes: "First Underground Nuclear Tour 2008"

Vocalist/bass guitarist/songwriter Glenn Hughes is a true original. No
other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the
finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. That astonishing voice is
Hughes' calling card. He's known as a singer's singer. In fact, Stevie
Wonder once called Hughes his favourite white singer. The first
important band Hughes was a member of that achieved notable success
was Trapeze. In 1973, Hughes joined one of the most popular bands in
the world, Deep Purple. The trailblazing hard-rock legends had just
weathered the departure of vocalist Ian Gillan and bass guitarist
Roger Glover, but guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, keyboardist Jon Lord
and drummer Ian Paice continued with the addition of Hughes and David
Coverdale. Since 1992, Hughes has toured extensively in Europe, Japan
and South America in support of solo albums such as BLUES, FROM NOW
ON..., BURNING JAPAN LIVE, FEEL, ADDICTION, THE WAY IT IS, RETURN OF
CRYSTAL KARMA, BUILDING THE MACHINE, SONGS IN THE KEY OF ROCK and SOUL
MOVER. One of the most important collaborations in Hughes' career
occurred two decades ago when he began working with Black Sabbath's
Tony Iommi on the legendary guitarist's first solo album. The result,
1986's vastly underrated SEVENTH STAR, was officially credited as
"Black Sabbath Featuring Tony Iommi" to satisfy the record company's
marketing desires. 2005 saw the release of two albums which were
greeted with commercial and critical success; FUSED with Tony Iommi,
and another solo album SOUL MOVER. Now he is back with his new solo
album and live on tour!

Pharaoh has completed the mixing of its third album, entitled BE GONE.
Like its critically-acclaimed predecessor, THE LONGEST NIGHT, the new
album was recorded with Matt Crooks at MCR Studios in Manassas,
Virginia. BE GONE will now be mastered by Colin Davis of Imperial
Mastering for a worldwide March release via the leading traditional
heavy metal label Cruz Del Sur Music. As a special treat for fans
(and, it must be said, for the band themselves) the track "Dark New
Life" features guest guitar solos from Mark Reale and Mike Flyntz from
Riot. Jim Dofka also appears for the third time on as many Pharaoh
albums, contributing his extraordinary guitar chops to the song "No
Remains." A release date, song samples, and cover art for BE GONE will
be revealed in the coming weeks.

Pharaoh will celebrate the new album and its ten-year history by
performing live for the first time ever at Keep It True X on April 5,
2008, at Tauberfrankenhalle, Lauda-Königshofen, Germany. The festival
is completely sold out as of September. For the occasion of their
first live show ever, Pharaoh will be on stage with an extraordinary
lineup featuring Hunter Ginn (Canvas Solaris) on drums and guitarist
Matt Crooks (Division) as the second axe! To complete the news, we
have finally a release date which is set for the 24th of April 2008.
Nevertheless a digi-pak limited edition will be released for the Keep
It True festival, including an exclusive embroidered patch!

We're very happy to announce the signing of Puerto Rico's most famous
metal band, Dantesco! Dantesco plays a very distinctive blend of epic
doom metal, imagine something in between Candlemass and Mercyful Fate
and you'll get the idea! Add to this the evocative voice and presence
of one of the most peculiar and respected figures of the heavy metal
movement, Erico La Bestia ... And there you have it! Dantesco's
offering, something absolutely unique that real heavy metal fans

The band will self-release its second album PAGANO in Puerto Rico
while Cruz Del Sur Music's edition will have two exclusive bonus
tracks and will be released on the 24th of April 2008. Dantesco will
tour Europe during April 2008 and Cruz Del Sur will release a limited
edition slipcase and embroidered patch in time for their appearance at
the Greek festival Up The Hammers and Keep It True festivals.

Greek Epic metal's heroes Battleroar are actually in the recording
studio, completing the recordings of their third album TO DEATH AND
BEYOND. Greek comic artist ("Conan" Greek edition) John Rubulias has
been hired for the artwork, expect a real epic metal artwork! The
album will see the light on the 24th of April, and although the band
is working against time, we're sure they'll make it! Also in this case
a Limited digi-pak edition will be released in time for the Up The
Hammers festival, including a bonus track and an exclusive embroidered
patch!

Many of you already were aware that after the release of ROAD OF
BONES, Ignitor was hit by two departures that inevitably put on ice
their live activity as well as the composition of new material: first
left singer Erika, then it was the turn of guitarist Annah Moore. The
band started looking out for replacement and the first, great result
is that the search of a new guitarist has ended, having original
guitarist Beverly Barrington rejoined the band! "We're excited about
're-igniting' the sparks of inspiration for songs like 'Demon Slayer'
and 'Last King Tiger,'" affirmed drummer Pat Boyle, expecting some
good news on the vocal-front by the end of January. Stay tuned!

Crescent Shield

L.A.'s Crescent Shield is working on the follow-up for their great
late-2006 release, THE LAST OF MY KIND.

The new album will be released by Cruz Del Sur after summer 2008, but
some details are beginning to be unveiled such as that the album will
be entitled, THE STARS OF NEVER SEEN, and Gerry Alanguilan (Marvel/
DC), after the excellent result of his cover-illustration for THE LAST
OF MY KIND, will be again responsible of the artwork.

Some of the most outstanding Cruz Del Sur Music bands will soon meet
our old, beloved VINYL format! First of all Ignitor's ROAD OF BONES
will be released in April by the German vinyl label High Roller
Records! We also proudly want to let you know that Germany's Pure
Steel Records and Cruz Del Sur Music have signed a contract about co-
operating in different ways in the future! That means that Pure Steel
Records has acquired the rights to release on some superb Vinyl
editions most of the great stuff which was released by Cruz Del Sur
Music! The first results of this partnership will be the release of
Crescent Shield's THE LAST OF MY KIND and Pharaoh's THE LONGEST NIGHT

-New England Metal And Hardcore Festival Celebrates Tenth Anniversary

WORCESTER, Mass. -- This year will mark the tenth anniversary of the
New England Metal And Hardcore Festival, the largest and most
successful metal festival in the United States.

of April 25-27 at the Palladium in Worcester, Mass., its home since

World Premiere At Sweden Rock Festival 2008!

Yes, it's true! Edguy main man Tobias Sammet's cult metal opera
project will arrive at this year's Sweden Rock Festival to coincide
with its becoming a stage act for the first time ever! Avantasia
created something of a sensation with its two THE METAL OPERA albums
in 2001-02, and then yet another one with the announcement that Sammet
was going to revive the project for another album after all; current
success THE SCARECROW. For Avantasia's first ever live performances
Sammet is being backed by a phenomenal band, whose merits include
Kamelot, Heaven's Gate and -- of course -- Edguy. And as the icing on
the cake, the biggest sensation of all: the star vocalists returning
for another go at their "roles" on stage. People like Bob Catley
(Magnum), Jörn Lande (ex-Masterplan), Andre Matos (ex-Angra) and
Amanda Somerville (ex-Aina). It's possible that there will be even

SEBASTIAN BACH (US)

His 2005 Sweden Rock Festival gig was one of the most talked about
shows of that year and the brand new studio album ANGEL DOWN is
undoubtedly the best record he has made since the early '90s, so it is
our great pleasure to be able to add the name Sebastian Bach to this
year's festival lineup. The former Madam X vocalist was elevated into
super stardom as front man in Skid Row, who made the exceptionally
successful albums SKID ROW and SLAVE TO THE GRIND in 1989 and 1991,
respectively. After the 1994 longplayer SUBHUMAN RACE and subsequent
tour, Bach has been breaking new ground for himself as an actor and
musical artist while releasing solo albums like BRING 'EM BACH ALIVE!
and BACH 2: BASICS and making countless guest appearances on various
recordings. With ANGEL DOWN, released in November 2007, his solo
career seems to be in full focus. The record offers relentless hard
rock/metal in the vein of the hardest Skid Row material and Bach's
band includes renowned guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak, drummer Bobby
Jarzombek and bassist Steve DiGiorgio.

VIVIAN (CH)

Vivian was founded in 1998 and in the same year achieved "newcomer of
the year" status in Lucerne. Three years later they released their
debut album V (BMG). In 2003 and 2005 the following releases ALIVE
(Warner) and DON'T LOOK DOWN (Hammersound/ZYX) became the true debut
of the band (both albums Top 30 in Switzerland), offering their fans a
freer, fresher, smarter more awake sound, the real sound of Vivian.
With ALIVE and DON'T LOOK DOWN Vivian exploded onto the scene with
main stage performances at Open Air St. Gallen, Montreux Jazz
Festival, support shows with The Cranberries, Lenny Kravitz, Avril
Lavigne, Status Quo and a three week U.S. tour. With their latest
release VIVIANISM in the luggage, Vivian will come to Sweden Rock
Festival to show that they now can stand on their own feet. Classic

-Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan) To Guest On Asylum's Debut
Album!!!!

Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan) is the latest member to make an
appearance on the debut album from Asylum, the Illinois-based project
featuring Marcus Johnson (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Johnny Rox
(bass). He joined Helloween in 1988 and stayed for 12 & 1/2 years
before embarking on Masterplan with drummer Ulli Kusch. Also
contributing to the CD are Kevin Talley (Daath, ex-Chimaira, Dying
Fetus, Misery Index), Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Testament, Death,
Strapping Young Lad), Larry Tarnowski (ex-Iced Earth), David Shankle
(Manowar, DSG), Andy LaRoque (King Diamond/Death), and Michael Angelo
Batio (Nitro, MAB).

Accompanied by Talley and Tarnowski, Johnson and Rox began recording
the debut Asylum album in May 2006. By October of 2006, Gene Hoglan
made a guest appearance, ripping up the drums on the bonus track "Get
Up," a Van Halen cover. Brendon Small of Dethklok and "Metalocalypse"
fame also contributed a guest guitar solo to the same song.

Asylum's debut album is being engineered by Grammy nominee Bob "Doc"
Pucci. In addition, the album will be mixed by Grammy nominee Ulrich
Wild, best known for his mixing/engineering work with Dethklok,
Slipknot, Static-X, Pantera and White Zombie. The CD will be mastered
by Tom Baker, who has worked with bands like Nine Ince Nails, Marilyn
Manson, Motley Crue, White Zombie and Velvet Revolver.

-Rocket Scientists In Concert At Baja Prog XII

LOS ANGELES -- Acclaimed American progressive rock legends Rocket
Scientists will perform at the world renown progressive rock festival
Baja Prog XII in Mexicali, Mexico on Thursday, March 27th, 2008. The
band will take the stage from 8:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. Rocket Scientists'
core members Erik Norlander, Mark McCrite and Don Schiff will appear
at the festival along with select guest musicians including symphonic
rock diva Lana Lane and guitarist Jim Williams. This concert follows
on the heels of the release of Rocket Scientists ambitious DVD/four-CD
box set LOOKING BACKWARD through Think Tank Media and ProgRock
Records.

Baja Prog XII will be hosted at the Teatro Del Estado (The State
Theatre) on Boulevard Lopez Mateos in Mexicali, Mexico. The event
begins with an opening night party on Tuesday, March 25th and
continues for four consecutive days through March 29th with 20 bands
and fans from all over the world.

Rocket Scientists was formed in the late 1980s by keyboardist Erik
Norlander and vocalist / guitarist Mark McCrite. The two released
their first CD, EARTHBOUND, in 1993 joined by then-session bassist Don
Schiff. Schiff quickly became a part of the band for their second
release in 1995, BRUTAL ARCHITECTURE, and the three toured in the U.S.
and Europe in 1997 along with drummer Tommy Amato culminating in the
live CD, EARTH BELOW AND SKY ABOVE: LIVE IN EUROPE AND AMERICA. In
1999, Rocket Scientists released OBLIVION DAYS, raising the bar on
already high expectations. At the turn of the century, Norlander,
Schiff and McCrite all worked on solo projects in addition to backing
symphonic rock vocal icon Lana Lane on several tours around the world.
After an eight year hiatus, Rocket Scientists released its fourth
studio album REVOLUTION ROAD in 2006 to high accolades from the press
and fans worldwide.

In January, 2008, Rocket Scientists released their first box set
entitled LOOKING BACKWARD, a five-disc collection containing
remastered versions of their first three studio albums, EARTHBOUND,
BRUTAL ARCHITECTURE and OBLIVION DAYS, along with a fourth audio CD of
new recordings of classic Rocket Scientists songs reinterpreted by the
band in 2007. The fifth disc is a DVD-9 containing video of the 2007
sessions along with extensive interviews and historical archive

-Strawbs Lead Singer Dave Cousins To Perform First Solo Tour Ever In
The United States

Dave Cousins is calling his first ever U.S. solo tour, "Stories And
Songs" because he is a story teller and songsman. He is supporting two
albums: SECRET PATHS is due in March, and features Melvin Duffy, who
played steel guitar with Robbie Williams, Joe Cocker and Zucchero. His
other recent release is THE BOY IN THE SAILOR SUIT, his second solo
album in his nearly 40 years of recording. BOY IN THE SAILOR SUIT is
distributed through Rykodisc, and features the talents of the
professionals who make up the impressive Blue Angel Orchestra. The
infectious enthusiasm of this grouping shines through, giving the
album very much a band feel, which is astonishing given how little
they have so far played together.

Dave is making this tour a very intimate showcase, singing and playing
his acoustic guitar. His friend Ian Cutler, who plays violin on THE
BOY IN THE SAILOR SUIT will be supporting Dave in concert. Ian Cutler
made his debut as the young fiddle player in the horror cult film "The
Wicker Man."

THE BOY IN THE SAILOR SUIT features ten brand new Cousins songs.
Guitarist Miller Anderson guests on the album, as he did on Dave's
1972 album, TWO WEEKS LAST SUMMER, which continues to sell well to
this day. The rhythm section comprises Chas Cronk of Strawbs on bass,
with drummer Chris Hunt who played for many years with Lonnie Donegan.

Dave Cousins has been the leader and main songwriter of Strawbs from
the release of the band's first album (STRAWBS) in 1968 on A&M, to the
present day. In the 1970s the band was at its peak with major chart
albums GRAVE NEW WORLD and BURSTING AT THE SEAM in the U.K., followed
by huge success in the U.S.A. and Canada with HERO AND HEROINE and
GHOSTS. Strawbs sold over three million albums in that period and
spent 55 weeks on the Billboard charts with seven successive albums in
the period 1972-1977.

THE BOY IN THE SAILOR SUIT is produced by Chris Tsangarides whose
studio is littered with gold discs for albums by Yngwie Malmsteen,
Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy and many more.

Coming Soon - On The Road with John & Rick!!

So, my trusty sidekick Rick Williams and I are embarking on a new
venuture we are calling "On The Road With John & Rick." We are going
to be filming at most of our shows, showing you the craziness we
create, interviewing fans and fellow musicians, and finding weird and
interesting things in our travels to bring to you on a weekly basis.
We will then be editing the video into ten minute segments and posting
them on YouTube every Tuesday night.

We did our first rounds of filiming during our five days on The Rock
Boat and have a lot of great and crazy footage to bring to you from
that. We will be shooting again this week at the shows for his Bday!!
We will be editing that footage and hope to bring you the Debut

-Century Media Records Announces Partnership With Mediaskare Records

Century Media Records is proud to announce a new marketing and
distribution deal with Mediaskare Records. The label, founded by Baron
Bodnar, has defied the odds upon its inception and thrived within the
underground metal scene. The company, spearheaded by Silent Civilian
and As Blood Runs Black, has developed a unique niche within the scene
and continues to develop a slew of new talent. This new partnership
with Century Media Records now provides Mediaskare a new platform and
the necessary resources needed to bring themselves to the next level.

"Mediaskare is one of the most committed labels out there right now
when it comes to the A&R process and how they treat their bands. It
was a no brainer for us to speak to Mediaskare in regards of taking
them to a new level," says Ray Harkins from Century Media, who
alongside one of the co-owners of Century Media, Robert Kampf, was
instrumental in reaching this agreement.

Bodnar (CEO of Mediaskare Records) further comments: "Ever since I had
to special order Eyehategod in 1993 Century Media has been one of my
favorite labels. I am blown away by how they have brought the heaviest
of underground metal to the forefront of the music business. Now being

-Majority Of Famed Atrocity Back Catalog To Be Re-mastered And
Reissued In North America!!!

To coincide with the release of Atrocity's brand new WERK 80 II album,
a huge chunk of their famed back catalog will be re-mastered and
reissued in North America. Some titles will actually be available for
the first time domestically. The tentative release date for North
America is March 4th, the same day WERK 80 II will be released.
Vocalist/producer Alex Krull had the following to say on the topic:
"Some of the album were really hard to get or not available at all
because they were sold out. It would be a shame not re-releasing these
albums again. It is also a chance for our latest fans to get an
overall view from the creative drive of the band Atrocity and their
diverse projects in the past. We were always giving our best at the
moment we were doing these albums. Sometimes there is a chance to
improve a little bit of it, which makes the whole thing even more
interesting. I've almost re-mastered the entire back catalogue and
there were indeed some things from the old recordings to do better
soundwise. It was real fun and treasures like BLUT, WILLENSKRAFT,
CALLING THE RAIN, DIE LIEBE, TODESSEHNSUCHT or our debut album
HALLUCINATIONS are gleaming now in new splendour. After the re-release
of TODESSEHNSUCHT there will now be some more releases besides the

-The Second Coming Of Sahg -- March 18

TRENTON, N.J. -- The new masters of doom, Norway's Sahg, are set to
unveil their latest masterpiece, the simply named SAHG II, on March 18
on Regain Records.

While the band's 2006 debut, SAHG I, established the band as a force
to be reckoned with in doom metal, SAHG II proves the band's staying
power. Taking inspiration from the forefathers of all things heavy --
Black Sabbath -- Sahg creates its own interpretation of retro, trippy,
heavy music, based around memorable, ear-catching riffs.

"This album is definitely a big step forward for us, both musically
and technically/sound-wise," said guitarist/vocalist Olav Iversen.
"The songs are more diverse on SAHG II because we have allowed
ourselves to think more freely and be more receptive to a wider range
of inspiration. There are so many directions we want to explore with
this band, and this is just what we had time for in this round."

While the band focused on learning from past mistakes, the recording
process itself turned out to be a bit of a challenge for Sahg, with
the recording studio being torn to the ground by the landlord after
recording just three songs. Undeterred, they used a tiny rehearsal
room as a temporary studio while seeking out another location. They
soon settled at Audiopilot Studio in their native town of Bergen,
Norway, a studio by the ocean, full of vintage guitar amps, effects,
tape machines, and a Fender Rhodes piano. It was the perfect summer
setting for Sahg to record. And then the technical problems started.

"It really felt like being under some vicious spell," Iversen said.
"But, finally, we landed it, with a bunch of pretty intense recordings
in our hands that are very much colored by the strife and frustration
we were in. All the hardship turned into something good."

Fans will notice that everything that made Sahg so dynamic on the
debut is there twofold on SAHG II. "The fast songs are faster, and the
trippy ones trippier," said Iversen. "On one end of the scale, is
'Pyromancer,' which we recently shot the music video for. This one is
a real up-tempo rocker, and the riffs are inspired by old thrash
metal, mixed in with a good bunch of Deep Purple/'Highway Star' vibes.
On the trippy end of the scale, I think 'Escape The Crimson Sun' and
'Monomania' are the most obvious examples. 'Escape' is a mellow,
acoustic piece, which is something we have wanted to do for a long
time, with flutes, mandolin, and tripped-out vocals. I think it makes
a good time-out on a pretty intense album like this. When we recorded
'Monomania,' we didn't know what the last half of the song was gonna
be like. But after a few bottles of wine, we decided to have a go at
it anyway. The vibe and the atmosphere were just right for it, and we
just jammed out the last part there and then. So, everything you hear
on there, except the vocals and the Hammond organ, is totally live,
recorded under the considerable influence of red wine. 'From Conscious
Sleep' is the only instrumental piece on the album. It is based on a
killer riff written by our guitarist Thomas, which we arranged into a
very monumental and orchestral piece, with strings and classical
choir."

Since its beginning in 2004, Sahg has been plagued with drummer
problems. SAHG II was recorded with a session drummer and a search is
currently underway for a permanent fixture in the band. Despite being
involved in other bands, the group stresses that Sahg is indeed a
priority band for all three current members. "We are still involved
with other things each on our ends, because we all have an extensive
drive towards dealing with a lot of different music simultaneously,"
Iversen said. "But it is crucial for Sahg's existence that all members
consider it a priority and regard it as a full-time band, rather than
a project."
