-Guitar Legend Yngwie Malmsteen Unleashes First New Album In Three
Years, PERPETUAL FLAME, To Be Inducted Into Rock Walk And Tour North
America Fall 2008

The global rock guitar community will undoubtedly mark October 14,
2008 on their calendars, as this is the exact date that Yngwie
Malmsteen will be issuing his latest studio triumph, PERPETUAL FLAME.
The album will be the first-ever Yngwie album to be released via
Rising Force Records (distributed via Koch), while the album also
marks the debut on an Yngwie album by ex-Judas Priest/Iced Earth front
man, Tim "Ripper" Owens.

Twelve tracks of pure six string metallic bliss (which stretches to
almost 70 minutes total), the album was produced and engineered by
Yngwie himself, and mixed by Roy Z (who has previously worked with
Judas Priest and Bruce Dickinson, among others). Joining Yngwie and
Ripper on the album is keyboardist Derek Sherinian and drummer Patrick
Johansson (Yngwie contributed bass, additional keyboards, and vocals,
as well), but on tour, Michael Troy will supply keyboards, and Bjorn
Englen will be laying down the bass. A supporting tour of the U.S. and
Canada is slated to run through all of October.

Single-handedly, Yngwie Malmsteen trailblazed the classical metal
movement in the 1980s. During a time when the majority of guitarists
were merely copying Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie was one of the few rock
guitarists to create his own instantly-identifiable playing style --
which has been subsequently mimicked by countless other guitarists.
Yngwie is responsible for issuing some of the metal's all-time great
guitar classics, especially such releases as 1984's RISING FORCE,
1985's MARCHING OUT, 1992's FIRE AND ICE, and most recently, 2005's
UNLEASH THE FURY.

In addition to the arrival of PERPETUAL FLAME in October, another
career highlight is slated for that same month -- Yngwie will be
inducted into the Rock Walk on Monday, October 13th in Los Angeles.

Additionally a new Fender/Yngwie Malmsteen custom shop guitar will be
unveiled on November 28th (with a limited run of 100 instruments) and
there will be a slew of CD reissues of Yngwie classics to soon be
announced.

And the accolades continue to pour in -- Roadie Crew Magazine
organized a poll in which 330 respected rock guitarists were asked to
vote for their favorite guitarist of all-time. Yngwie checked in at a
lofty number 3, only behind fellow legends Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van
Halen. Without question, 2008 is shaping up to be the year of Yngwie.

Hello Friends,

First, I want to thank Guitar World magazine for including
Impellitteri in their "50 Fastest Guitarist of All Time" article. That
was really nice of them to include me. I am definitely guilty of
playing hyper-speed all too often. However, many people tell me I am
the guitarist who probably started the craze of hyper-speed shred with
the Impellitteri Black EP -- (oops-- HA! ) SHRED ON !!

Now on to our new record titled GOOD AND EVIL. The new music is being
mixed in Vancouver with Greg Reely (Devil Driver, Fear Factory, etc.).
I can say that this is by far the most amazing recording I have been
involved with. It is filled with amazing riffs, fast shredding solos,
screaming vocals, and of course a brutal rhythm section.

The goal of this record was to make a historic album that will rival
Van Halen 1, Ozzy's BLIZZARD OF OZZ, Pantera - COWBOYS FROM HELL,
Yngwie's RISING FORCE, Metallica's MASTER OF PUPPETS, and even new
artists like Children Of Bodom and Avenged Sevenfold. And so,
Impellitteri GOOD AND EVIL is my attempt to rival the best. Hopefully,
we have done our job well!! It was not easy.

And now for all of the patient fans --- ROB ROCK is officially back in
the band.

Rob Rock is officially back in the band!! The king of scream and
melody is once again fronting Impellitteri.

Our fans have eagerly anticipated Rock's return since he left to
pursue a solo career in 2000, so to their delight we are officially
announcing the return of Rock. I am personally excited at Rob's
contribution on this record, he is singing like a madman, filled with
rage and beautiful melody. It should please all of the metal heads
around the globe.

Oh, and Impellitteri will be creating their first official MySpace

"History repeats itself," explains Jon Schaffer -- he sees his current
heavy metal sci-fi thriller as a parable about the evolution of
humanity with all its faults and obvious failings, its immaturity and
missed opportunities. FRAMING ARMAGEDDON (SOMETHING WICKED PART I)
which caused a stir around the world last summer now continues with
the grand sequel THE CRUCIBLE OF MAN (SOMETHING WICKED PART 2).
Whereas in the first part of the story Iced Earth explored a period
spanning 10,000 years using gripping flashbacks, everything now
focuses on the last 2,000 years right up to the present.

The main character in this modern legend, Set Abominae, savior to the
Setian culture and Anti-Christ to mankind, has come to take revenge on
the horrors of the past and to protect everything sacred, and finally
to restore Setian life on Earth. "Basically humanity has not really
changed," says Jon Schaffer. "In some cases we have become a bit more
clever, for example we have managed to set up the Internet and have
extended our knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology. But one
thing has remained static: We continue to deceive ourselves while
manipulating and dominating others." Is there a moral to this story
then, a message, a lesson to be learned? "Yes, there is," says
Schaffer. "It is all about individual honesty. In my view this alone
is the key to the true evolution of mankind, and within the 'Something
Wicked' storyline it is the only thing that will save mankind from
extinction on Earth."

With FRAMING ARMAGEDDON (SOMETHING WICKED PART I), Iced Earth dealt
with the gripping issues of symbols, religions and leaders in a
pointedly epic and progressive way. In THE CRUCIBLE OF MAN (SOMETHING
WICKED PART 2) the songs get an even darker and harder edge. Schaffer:
"All the material for the two albums was created at the same time
giving the sound its strong continuity. But during the course of the
story THE CRUCIBLE OF MAN (SOMETHING WICKED PART 2) gets focused and
more compact."

To the delight of all Iced Earth fans Jon Schaffer and singer Matt
Barlow have reactivated their long-term artistic partnership on THE
CRUCIBLE OF MAN (SOMETHING WICKED PART 2). "I am really pleased Matt
is back," explains Schaffer. "We are spiritual brothers with a long
and meaningful relationship behind us." Barlow not only puts his voice
to the multifaceted story but was also involved in writing lyrics on
several tracks ("Minions Of The Watch," "The Revealing," "Crucify The
King" and "Something Wicked Part 3"). Schaffer: "I have a lot of
respect for Matt's feel for language and his power to express himself
in lyrics. I outlined the story for him and provided the necessary
bullet points, and from there he contributed some great work. I am
very satisfied with Matt's contribution to this album."

Lord Of Mushrooms Live Concert In The Olympic Stadium Beijing (China)

Lord Of Mushrooms have been invited to perform at the MIDI Music
Festival which will be held from the 29th September to the 2nd October
2008 in Beijing. This manifestation has become one of the biggest live
music events in Asia.

Lord Of Mushrooms have already taken part in the 2005 Festival,
playing to 15,000 people who were able to discover their dynamic,
virtuoso and melodic rock sound. This year the festival will be held
in the National Olympic Sports Center Stadium, where the Olympics
Games have been held.

The band will take this opportunity to film its first live DVD
presenting original titles from their forthcoming album. On the
occasion of this exceptional event, very few French bands have had the
chance to participate in a Festival of such large scale impact,
moreover in China. Lord Of Mushrooms are on the look out for various
forms of partnership.

With their performance in China, especially after the worldwide press
exposure brought about by the Olympic Games, the band will be much in
the limelight. This event constitutes a major event on the French Rock
scene.

worry, there is enough tasty guitar riffs and searing solos to satisfy
the most discriminating six string aficionado, but the amazing soulful
vocals and twisting grooving bass playing of Matt Waddill along with
the sometimes frenetic but always in the pocket drumming of Kent

This CD also features some fantastic drumming by Jim Riley -- the
drummer for Rascal Flatts. Jim played with Jeff for several years
before he started touring the world with the Flatts, and was in fine
form laying down drums on several songs.

tapped into Jeff's longtime friend, world famous fantasy artist Rodney
Matthews to produce the original artwork for the cover. Rodney has

-Akashic Calls It Quits And Will Release A Posthumous DVD

After 10 years of activities, the Brazilian progressive metal band
Akashic calls it quits. Since its creation in 1998 the group released
two albums, TIMELESS REALM and A BRAND NEW DAY, and played lots of
concerts in Brazil and Europe.

The band says farewell with a new DVD, which will be released soon and
will feature the band playing the best songs of their set. The members
wrote the following statement:

"To all Akashic fans, we want to let you know that we are ending the
activities of the band.

"We had 10 fantastic years where we learned a lot with each other,
musically and personally.

"We recorded two CDs and a future DVD, besides of playing two European
tours. In this period we focused all our creativity on Akashic. We are
sure that we gave our best, maintaining the truth of each of us in
every song and action made by the band so far.

"We thank the fans for all the support. We will keep working with
music as we always did, because that's what we like to do and what we
do best.

"Keep following our careers and wait for the DVD which will be

-Chaoswave Signs With Nightmare Records

Italian/Danish power-thrash metal act Chaoswave has inked a deal with
the American label Nightmare Records. The group's new album, DEAD EYE
DREAMING, will be released in North America on November 25. The
European release date will be anounced soon.

DEAD EYE DREAMING will contain 11 songs and almost an hour's worth of
music. The CD was mixed earlier this year by Andy La Rocque (King
Diamond) and features a special guest appearance by Steve Smyth,
former guitarist of Nevermore and Testament.

Commented Smyth: "I first heard Chaoswave a few years ago while on
tour with Nevermore, and absolutely loved that they had a heavy,
progressive metal sound, combined with a male-female vocal duo that
sound huge, and very unique together. Everyone in this band is a top-
notch musician! I am very pleased to have been asked and contributed
solos to the band's new album, which I believe is sure to snap many
ears in their direction this year!"
