Concerts To Be Accompanied By New Releases

Titans among themselves: 1 February 2009 will see the launch of a
four-week tour by the two metal legends, Saxon and Iced Earth, in
Paris. This sensational co-headlining package is certainly among the
strongest of recent years and will take the two bands through
countries such as France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany,
Luxemburg, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Austria, Hungary and
Italy. Fans can look forward to dynamic power metal at its very best,
especially since both groups will also present thoroughly exciting new
releases to accompany the tour. Tickets for the concerts are available

Saxon are considered one of the most charismatic acts of today's metal
business. Their latest album release, INTO THE LABYRINTH, out on 12
January 2009 (Germany: 9 January 2009, U.S.: 13 January) via
Steamhammer/SPV proves that Saxon mark 2009 haven't lost any of their
expressiveness, enthusiasm and inspiration. Along with numerous
classics, vocalist Biff Byford & Co. will present the strongest tracks
from their new album during the tour, expertly combining present and
past.

For Iced Earth, this will be the first full European tour since the
return of front man, Matt Barlow. "I am pleased Matt is back,"
explains guitarist and songwriter Jon Schaffer. "We are brothers with
a long, meaningful relationship behind us." The band will present
songs from their current album, THE CRUCIBLE OF MAN, and for spring
Schaffer has also announced the release of a new DVD.

-"Rock Band" Scores DLC from Soundgarden, Yngwie Malmsteen!!

Numerous bands will jam alongside the Killers in "Rock Band" next
week. In addition to the previously reveled three-pack from the
Killers, Harmonix has announced several other artists that will be
joining the band as next week's Rockband DLC. Tracks from the Chris
Cornell-fronted grunge trailblazers Soundgarden will accompany the
Killers, along with legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen and

-HammerFall -- New Cover Art, Album Title, And Track Listing Revealed!

Swedish melodic metallers HammerFall have set NO SACRIFICE, NO VICTORY
as the title of their eighth full-length album, due on February 20,
2009 (Europe) and TBA (North America) via Nuclear Blast Records.

The CD was recorded in part at Andy La Rocque's (King Diamond) Sonic
Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden and includes an instrumental written
by the group's latest addition, guitarist Pontus Norgren (The Poodles,
Talisman, Great King Rat), as well as a song entitled "One Of A Kind,"
which was composed as a collaboration between HammerFall guitarist
Oscar Dronjak and In Flames axeman Jesper Stromblad (who was a member
of HammerFall in the band's earliest incarnation).

Pontus Norgren joined HammerFall as the replacement for Stefan
Elmgren, who left the band in early April to focus on his new career
as a pilot.

-Sweden Rock Festival

22 of 75 bands confirmed -- tickets on sale!

Saturday evening, during the Sweden Rock Kick Off party in Stockholm,
the first 22 bands confirmed for the 2009 edition of the Sweden Rock
Festival were announced. At the same time, limited edition 4-day
tickets were released. These tickets will only be available until
January 31st and the price is the same as last year: 1990 SEK plus
advance fee. 1-day, 3-day and regular 4-day tickets will be on sale
from February 1st.

In other news for next year's festival, is that the Rock Stage sound
system will be upgraded to Festival Stage standards, the number of
water closets on the festival ground will be increased by 50 percent,
and an extended collaboration with Visit Blekinge will provide
visitors better service for booking accommodation and ground travel.

Bands confirmed so far:

In Flames (S)
Will bring the biggest stage production in the band's history and
perform a "special" set list. Additional surprises are to be expected.
This will be the band's only show in Sweden next summer.

Heaven & Hell (UK/USA)
Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. The first Black Sabbath
studio album in 14 years will be released in March -- under the name
Heaven & Hell to avoid confusion with the still active Ozzy
Osbourne-fronted version of the band. This will be their only show in
Sweden.

Dream Theater (USA)
The prog metal masters have decided to start the European tour at
Sweden Rock Festival. This will be their only show in Scandinavia in
2009.

Europe (S)
The most successful rock band in Swedish history. Headlined SRF 2004.
Will release a new album in May.

Foreigner (USA)
Have sold more than 50 million records but only played in Sweden once
before, in 1991. This will be their only show in Sweden in 2009.

HammerFall (S)
The new lineup featuring original bass player Fredrik Larsson and
Poodles/Talisman/Great King Rat axeman Pontus Norgren will bring a
super sized stage show, exclusive to Sweden Rock Festival!

Motorhead (UK/S)
The Sweden Rock Festival "house band" are once again bringing their
full stage show including the BOMBER plane lighting rig.

Lita Ford (USA)
She put her career on ice in 1997, but now she is back! This will be
her only show in Scandinavia.

NEW YORK -- Richard Christy's "bucolic" family farm in Kansas may
never be the same. Howard Stern on-air personality and former heavy
metal speed drummer Richard Christy (Death, Iced Earth and Control
Denied) takes a couple of infamous Stern Wack-Packers and a porn star
to live on his family farm in Fort Scott, Kansas. His parents (and the
animals around the farm) are in for quite a shock. "Wack Pack At The
Christy's Farm" is an original series on Howard TV On Demand in
November and December 2008. Howard TV can be found in the On Demand
offerings of most cable systems nationally.

Joining Richard are his outrageous and sexy friends; Yucko the Clown
(a little racist), Gary the Retard (a little slow) and special guest
porn star Gina Lynn (topless a lot!). Upon arriving at his boyhood
home, Richard's parents, farmers Pat and Tom Christy, meet his unusual
companions. The guests are immediately changed into overalls, and Mr.
Christy assigns them chores like painting and cleaning the chicken
coop; milking cows and washing his truck, all of which are quite
challenging to this crew. These fish out-of-water attempt to learn
line dancing, go camping, boating, fishing, horseback riding, tractor
riding and are ultimately relegated to sleeping in a shanty barn. They
are out of control, out of their element and outrageous. The groups
get a bit tense and some fights ensue along with run-ins with manure,
and many other touching and off-color moments.

Richard Christy is Associate Producer for Howard TV On Demand and
often appears on the show. He is originally from Redfield, Kansas, a
tiny town of about fifty people. In October 1999, Richard had the
first of many of his comedic voice mail messages played on "The Howard
Stern Show." Richard was hired on the Stern show after Stuttering John
left to join "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." Howard auditioned 10
people for John's job from April to June 2004. After Richard's week-

-Progressive Music Artist Gary Wehrkamp Composes Song For Charity

POCONO MOUNTAINS, PA -- Shadow Gallery member Gary Wehrkamp recently
co-founded a charity organization The Wishmakers. The first project
for The Wishmakers is the recording of an original Christmas song
about the Pocono Mountain, Pennsylvania region. Many notable Pocono
area musicians came together in an effort to collaborate on
"Christmastime In The Poconos," a song about the joy, togetherness and
spirit of giving that Christmastime brings to the Pocono Mountains.
The song will be sold to raise money for the Monroe County Children
and Youth Services Christmas Fund.

Gary Wehrkamp has been a member of the band Shadow Gallery since 1992
as their keyboardist, guitarist and back-up vocalist. He is also part
of the supergroup Amaran's Plight, along with Kurt Barabas, Nick
D'Virgilio, and D.C. Cooper, which released the album VOICE IN THE
LIGHT in 2007. He has also recorded tribute albums for Rush, Yes,
Genesis and Pink Floyd. He has been a guest artist on Arjen Lucassen's
albums FLIGHT OF THE UNIVERSAL MIGRATOR and STAR ONE, Explorer's

YOURSELF and MULLMUZZLER II.

Another advisory board member of The Wishmakers is Jill Hughes, editor
of the e-zine USA Progressive Music and manager of the progressive
metal band Suspyre.

Trisha O'Keefe has who lent her voice on Amaran's Plight's progressive
rock album, VOICE IN THE LIGHT and Suspyre's WHEN TIME FADES... album,
also sang on the song "Christimastime In The Poconos."

"The Wishmakers' mission is 'Musicians making a difference...
harnessing the power of music and art to foster the spirit of giving.'
Our goal is to create music to raise money for charities. We hope to
work with more local and national charities in the future, and we
appreciate any musicians who would like to lend their talent for
future projects," says Jill Hughes, who is helping lead the efforts
with The Wishmakers, along with Gary Wehrkamp and Pocono area business
owners and artists Kristi Bronico, and Bryan Schmidt.

-Kittie, Thine Eyes Bleed, Night Of Demons, And Acacia Pay Tribute To
Dave Lander At Memorial Show

LONDON, ONTARIO -- Kittie, Thine Eyes Bleed, Night Of Demons, and a
reunited Acacia will pay tribute to Dave Lander -- band manager,
father, and friend who passed away unexpectedly in August -- on
December 12 at Call the Office in London, Ontario.

The evening with bring together and reunite the area's most well-known
bands in honor of the Lander, who played a role in each of their
careers. Kittie is fresh off a European and Russian tour, Thine Eyes
Bleed will be appearing playing for the first time after a one-year
hiatus, Night Of The Demons will play after a two-year absence from
the local music scene, and Acacia's original members will once again
join together for this special event.

Each band's performance will express what words alone can not, but the
bands' members have commented on Lander and his personal impact on
them:

"I have to say, I would have never imagined I would be here writing
this right now. When Dave suddenly passed away this August he took a
piece of my heart...to say the least. The Lander family is truly like
no other; those of you who have had the privilege to spend time with
the family and Dave know exactly what I am talking about. I have been
a part of the extended family for about 8-9 years now, and after
losing my father in 2003, Dave stepped in, was a father to me and
treated me like a son, but he was also a friend...a friend that would
always want you to be yourself and have a good time. From the early
days of Acacia through the long tough years with Thine Eyes Bleed,
Dave was the one person who always kept me fighting for my dreams.
Dave as a manager had a magic about him that would allow him to see
through the bullsh*t and always keep fighting to reach the top. It was
never about him. It was always about us (the bands) and making sure
that everyone else was taken care of and happy. From the steak and
wine dinners to the backyard BBQs and the long road trips waiting for
that cold beer, things will never be the same. I expect to see
everyone that shares any of these wonderful memories on December 12,
as we (the bands, friends, family) have been working hard to make this
a night to remember and celebrate the life of Dave Lander. I miss and
love you, Dave... 'I'll get the first beer, the rest are in the

was also our father. Through it all, he was there to ease our worry,

dedication to the band and his family were something that no money
could ever buy. He was a husband, father, manager, and friend. We
celebrate his life and his accomplishments on December 12 in true Dave

-Daylight Dies To Join Soilwork For Shows In Early January

Daylight Dies will join Soilwork and Darkane for the start of their
upcoming U.S. tour beginning January 30 in Rochester, New York.
Continuing to support their latest record, LOST TO THE LIVING,
Daylight Dies were selected to replace Warbringer who are unable to
start the tour due to extended recording obligations. "We are all
ecstatic about the opportunity to tour with three bands we are huge
fans of," says bassist Egan O'Rourke. "We have been cranking Soilwork
in the van since our first tour so it will be a true honor to get to
share stages with them."

Released June 24, LOST TO THE LIVING is the North Carolina-based
band's second album for Candlelight Records. Mixed by Jens Bogren
(Opeth, Katatonia) and featuring artwork from Travis Smith (Amon
Amarth, Paradise Lost), the album features nine new songs. "We were
extremely pleased to see the glowing response to LOST TO THE LIVING
from the media," notes drummer Jesse Haff. "It's especially rewarding
to see the continued love from fans towards this album."

Formed in 1996, Daylight Dies released their debut, NO REPLY (Relapse)
in 2002. Terrorizer Magazine called the album "memorable and
engaging." Outburn Magazine proclaimed it "pristine doom metal," while
Digital Metal found it to be "a combination of dark melody and deathly
aggression." The quintet would tour Europe with Katatonia and perform
with Lacuna Coil throughout the U.S. and Canada before writing
processes would begin on new material. Their second album, the
impressive DISMANTLING DEVOTION, was released in March of 2006.
Revolver Magazine called it "an epic slab of gloom metal that's equal
parts apocalyptic rage and suicidal sorrow." Terrorizer Magazine again
applauded the band noting the album as "an epic journey as thoughtful
and compellingly musical as it is bleak and vengeful... essential."
Another U.S. tour, this time with Moonspell and friends Katatonia,
completed 2006 on an all-time high. Outside of a few local
performances the five-piece spent much of 2007 crafting the material
that finds itself on LOST TO THE LIVING. The band toured with
Candlemass just prior to the release of LOST TO THE LIVING.

Daylight Dies, featuring vocalist Nathan Ellis, guitarist Barre
Gambling, guitarist Charley Shackelford, with O'Rourke and Haff, have
consistently impressed fans and critics alike. Not only popular with
mainstream print outlets worldwide (LOST TO THE LIVING again receiving
high praise from the most important metal publications around the
globe), the band have found an active online support network. Popular
metal portal Metalsucks.net says, "with LOST TO THE LIVING we get what
could very well become the band's masterwork." Hardcore Sounds says,
"Daylight Dies has created a solid piece of metal that is unbelievably
solid from start to finish." The band have active fan pages via

-Online reports indicate Lillian Axe will celebrate the 20th
anniversary of the Howlin' Wolf Club in New Orleans with a show on
