PhilPhill Jupitis comperes Ian Dury Memorial Race
Night in aid of CancerBACUP

Celebrity and comedian PhilPhill Jupitus is to compere
a night at the dogs to raise money for cancer
information and support charity CancerBACUP. The event
builds on two successful CancerBACUP evenings at the
Walthamstow Stadium: one hosted by Ian Dury himself in
March 1999, the other by his close friends from the
pop group Madness in 2000.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Ian became a
committed supporter and friend of CancerBACUP. Ian’s
own personal experience convinced him that information
and should be widely available to everyone diagnosed
with cancer. “I decided to help CancerBACUP because I
wanted to make a difference,” he said.

CancerBACUP currently provides up-to-date information,
practical advice and emotional support to more than
50,000 people affected by cancer every year. The money
raised from this fantastic event will go directly
towards developing the charity’s specialist services
to help reach more people with cancer their relatives
and friends.

Tickets to the Ian Dury Memorial Race Night cost £40.
This includes a traditional British meal, a race card
for the night, admission to the races and admission to
the private Goodwood lounge where PhilPhill Jupitus
will entertain.
