Hi Theo!
I think her best partners ever were Blake as a tenor (listen to Puritani!!!!) and Ganassi as a mezzo. I hope you downloaded the concert Devia/Ganassi in Verona: to die for!

I bet that Casta Diva was fabulous. I'd give an arm and a leg to
hear it; I know she sang it in a concert and the people there were
just amazed - "the miracle occured - she sang Casta Diva" :-).
"the Milanese are not prepared for her Norma" Wow, that is saying
something!
I agree with you, anything new is quite welcome.
I wanted to extend a question for all of us on the group. Which do
you think is Devia's best partner? (not only tenors) My humble
choices would be; from what i heard until now : Alvarez (personal
choice, I love Alvarez's voice next to hers); Alfredo Kraus for the
stunning Lucia they did together; Ewa Podles, for a mythical
Semiramide; Rockwell Blake (two belcanto specialists), Antoniozzi as
the Geronio for her Fiorilla...

P.S. I haven't forgotten the article :) <work in progress>

read in one of her interviews that if ever, she should have done it
in 2001 in Japan. Actually I listened to a casta diva a friend lent
me and was very impressed by how much voice she focused in the lower
region which I didn't think she had.

admit that right now I'd rather hear her as Straniera but of course
anything new is always welcome.
