About the Maine Ole'Opry
The Maine Ole'Opry was started by Joan Cole in 2005. It has been incorporated
into the Pine Tree State Country Music Assoc. charter. After two years of
holding shows it was decided we would have inductions as is done in the Grand
Ole'Opry.
Inductees are chosen by Maine Ole'Opry management. These inductees are chosen
from performers who have appeared on previous Opry shows. One reason for this is
because audience appreciation is considered. Other things taken into
consideration are talent, knowledge of country music, reputation, how they
relate to other opry members and very important is their dedication to country
music and the Maine'Ole Opry. Two performers will be inducted each year. The
Maine Ole'Opry is for the country music artists of today.
The Silver Spur Club (the capitol of country music) in Mechanic Falls have
given us a wall on which we have displayed is our Maine Ole'Opry Banner, a
plaques with all names of inductees and pictures of inductees.
Performers that have been inducted to date are: Bob Elston 2007, Slim Andrews
2007, Dennis Doiron 2007, Stevie Cee 2007, Rusty Rogers 2008, Jewel Clark 2008
