Re: [DixieChicks] Will we ever see them again?

Bands usually tour in the wake of the release of a new album - at least,
that is the traditional model. I am not sure if the Chicks are currently
working on an album though I would love that. It's been a couple of years
since their last album.

As to touring with families, they take their families on tour with them --
lock, stock and barrel -- and allow their band members to do the same thing
from what I've heard. So, while a tour can be disruptive, aside from school
schedules etc. it should not be overly disruptive. That said, for now they
may still wish to focus on their family lives rather than on putting out
albums and going on tours. Emily got divorced from Charlie not too long ago,
they had 3 kids together, suspect that that has left some marks in their
personal lives.

I've seen the Chicks live twice - it's an experience you won't easily
forget, so keep your ear to the ground.

(Nat / Emy / Martie: I know you're lurking - now go out and put out a new
album already, will ya !?)

Hi all!
My sister got me into the Dixie Chicks several years ago. However, I've only
seen their documentary and concert DVD. There are two reasons a Dixie Chicks
concert is my life's "to do" list: first, incredible music from three very
beautiful and talented women (and their equally talented and hard working
band), and secondly, the incredible loving energy of their fans. The cheer
of Dixie Chicks fans is like an electric current.

Will they ever tour again? They've done it so long, I would understand if
they want to move on in their lives. But that being said, I can't imagine
something they put so much work and passion into would just fade away. The
emotional highs and lows of that kind of life would be hard to leave for
most people. I hope they are not relegated to the bins of CD stores.

I really can't imagine what it must be like standing on stage at the end of
a show and feeling all that love and appreciation you do for a living. After
all, if you work at IBM, no one gets on a microphone on your floor and
introduces you, "...and on left desk, John C......!!!"
But with families now, I imagine the logistics of a tour would be almost
unbearable. I've worked on concerts before and the saying about details is
true, "when the list is endless, your end is listless."

I sure hope they find the reasons to tour again.

Peace from within......and a warm cookie couldn't hurt either....
