OK.
But I´m just having a lot on my mind and therefore have only been
looking so far.
...But we´re out here...........
Keld
about the a111...is the sound so much better than the a110?is the
a111 worth the 350DM?i am thinking of buying a a111 but for
350DM...it isn't cheap.but i like FM synthesis and the a111 can do
it...so,anyone who has both types(a110 &a111)can help me.also,the
12db multimode filter sounds great!!I LIKE IT AS MUCH AS THE MOOG
FILTER MODULE.WITH THE RIGHT KNOBS SETTINGS SOUNDS AMAZING!!
I'm considering buying a modular system, and I'm kinda
curious to see what folks out there are using.
Did anyone buy any of the basic A100 systems?
A100 Basic System 1?
A100 Basic System 2?
A100 Basic System 2 w/MIDI?
The Doepfer page says that a good way to start is to
buy a basic system, and then buy more modules when you're
familiar with how it all works. Sounds good to me , but
is this what most of you guys did ... or ... did you
build custom systems from the start?
Anyways ..., are there any good books/and or tutorials to
read on modular synthesis? I'm a newbie so I good use
any advice at this point.
Thanks,

i started!and then i ordered a6U rack filled with
modules that i wanted.a few days ago i ordered another
3U rack with a second a155sequencer and a WASP
filter!so now i've got two a155sequencers to play
with.as you can see i liked the doepfer modular very
much.the only sad thing about it is that some mini
jacks cables do not make good contact with the
inputs.(the problem that i had was with the CV1 inputs
on the a110 VCO's when i connected them with the CV
output of the a155.but that can be fixed as you can
see in the FAQ's page on the doepfer site.i haven't
try it yet...)i correct these problems by slightly
turning the mini jacks into the inputs.also the
behaviour of the a156 quantizer is a little "stranger"
than you migth expect.if you want to use the a156
quantizer i will send you the answer that doepfer gave
me.the a100 modular is my favourite piece of gear in
my studio and i got 27 synthesizers!it's analog and
it's modular and there are many modules available.what
more can you ask?

Hi!
My name is: Keld Sorensen and I use a A-100 Basic system 1 but are
saving for additions like the 128 fixed filter, 132 dual VCA, 176 CV
source, 123 Highpass filter and a couple of extra 140 Eg´s.
I´m using the A-100 to make both "Electronic" sounds and to
substitute traditional instruments like bass and drums. My music is
all over the place ie. many different types. As I work as a teacher
in a public school I also use my music in musicals for the school and
the like. (On pre recorded tape).

Hi!
The modules I use the most???
Well almost all of them. The modules I use most rarely is the
160/161 combination. I use them primarely as a voltage source, to
offset the oscillators, as I don´t have a 176 voltage source yet.
(161 >> 110 CV2)

must be interesting!i use the a160,a161 most of the
time as a mini sequencer in combination with the a138
linear mixer.so,i have the a155 to send triggers to
a140,s and to control the a110 pitch, and the second
row of the a155 for controlling filter cutoff and at
the same time the 4step mini seq. for controlling
another parameter(such as Q).but when my second a155
will arrive,my sounds will be even more complex!as you
can see i like sequenced music like "MIRAGE" from
klaus schulze...

What do I have? OK, as it stands at the moment, my own system is stands
at 140 modules, and will continue to grow as and when I can afford it. In
fact, the only module I have yet to acquire is the A-163. :-)

My name is Josef Mueller and my first A-100-System was the BS-2 with
MIDI (March 1997).
In the meanwhile I own more modules:
A-110 (2), A-111 (2), A-113, A-114, A-115, A-116, A-117,
A-118, A-119, A-120, A-121, A-122, A-124, A-125, A-126,
A-127, A-128, A-129/3, A-130, A-131, A-132,
A-134, A-135, A-136, A-138a, A-138b, A-140 (3), A-141,
A-144, A-145, A-146, A-147, A-148, A-150, A-155, A-156,
A-160, A-161, A-162, A-165, A-170, A-175, A-176,
A-180 (4), A-185, A-190, A-199
and besides the MAQ 16/3 and MCV24.
I like many kinds of music. My favorite electronic music is: Old
music
(e.g. Bach) with new sound (Wendy Carlos, Tomita and so on).
On my website are a few examples of music with the A-100. Have a look
at this site:
www.Modular-Planet.de
Perhaps your A-100-patch is soon on the Modular-Planet... (Send it to
the planet!)

Ok. As promised, I pulled a few stills from MiniDV last night.
They aren't the clearest of images, but you should get the general
idea of the system's size, along with some other bits and pieces
that I interface with the modular.
Anyone else out there with some piccies? :-)
