   Concert at Palace Theater (02-04-2000) gets shut down
   (News : Dream Theater)

     The concert at the Palace Theater (Los Angeles, CA) on
     February 4th, 2000, was unfortunately shut down by the
     fire marshalls an hour into the band's performance.

     Apparently, the Palace Theater had over-sold the venue
     and the fire marshalls insisted that the show would be
     stopped. The band, however, refused to leave the stage
     and continued to do "The Spirit Carries On", with Mike
     Portnoy and the audience singing.

     They continued to play as the electricity on stage was
     cut off,  and the police squad was brought in to force
     the audience out of the venue.

     The concert at the Palace Theater on February 5th came
     off without any problems.

   Kevin Moore: "On" tour, Fates Warning, Chroma Key
   (News : Kevin Moore / Chroma Key)

     Kevin Moore will be touring as the keyboardist for ON,
     a new band on Epic. Their tour will begin in March, to
     support the band's debut CD "Shifting Skin" (Kevin did

     In March, Kevin will also be recording keyboard tracks
     for the new Fates Warning album, which is scheduled to
     be released in June. The album will be mixed by Chroma

     Radios" is still being recorded. All guitar parts have
     been handled by Dave Iscove of All Rise. All the other
     parts have been handled by Kevin and Steve Tushar, but

     There will be a 24 hour (online) pay-per-view broadcast on

     The broadcast will be in Windows Media format on the House
     Of Blues website (not cable or satellite), and is free for

       Saturday night will be broadcast live over the
       Internet. You can see and hear the concert by going

       Now, according to Digital Club Network you will
       need both Flash and RealPlayer G2 or 7 to view the
       site and the actual broadcast. Once installed you
       will go to www.digitalclubnetwork.com, click on
       the "now playing" pull-down menu at the scheduled
       showtime and choose the TA show. This will then
       launch your "Go Live Player". Register as a new
       user if this is your first visit to the site and
       make a note of your password for the future. Wait
       for the "Go Live Player" to connect and buffer,
       then the player will stream the show live. Please
       note: These are the instruction that were given
       to me by DCN.

       The performance is currently scheduled to begin at
       10:45pm sharp this Saturday night. Mastermind will

   Dream Theater headlines at Athens Rockwave festival
   (Tour)

     Guitarist Janick Gers was involved in a serious accident on
     Saturday, July 8th, during Iron Maiden's show at the "Metal
     2000 Festival" in Mannheim, Germany. During his guitar solo
     Janick lost his footing at the front of the stage, and fell
     more than 10 feet into the photographers pit.

     Janick has been released from the hospital, and has to take
     a full week off for recovery.

     This means Iron Maiden will not be at the Rockwave festival
     in Greece. Instead, Dream Theater will be replacing them as
     the headlining act (they will be playing "Metropolis pt. 2"
     in its entirety). The Rockwave Festival takes place on July
     14th, 2000.


   Dream Theater at Doctor Music Festival in Spain
   (Tour)

     The Doctor Music Festival in Spain is located at La Morgal,
     near Oviedo. Dream Theater will be playing there on Sunday,
     July 23th at 10 pm for 90 minutes. Please visit the "Doctor

     Dream Theater will be playing at the Maaspoort in Den Bosch

   (Tour)

     Porcupine Tree will be the supporting act for Dream Theater

   Canadian Tragedy:
   A campaign by and for Canadian Dream Theater Fans.

     Canadian Tragedy is an effort to bring Dream Theater and
     their Metropolis 2000 tour to Canada. It is clear to us
     that Dream Theater has an extensive and loyal fan base in
     Canada but despite that, the chances of seeing Dream Theater
     in Canada for their current tour are very slim to say the
     least. This is solely due to the fact that Canadian
     promoters consider bringing Dream Theater to Canada as a
     financial risk and are not willing to engage necessary funds
     for such a tour. To prove them wrong, we are collecting the
     names, cities, and paying potential of all canadian fans.

       The August 30th show at the Roseland Ballroom in New
       York City is set to be another major milestone show
       and very special night in DT's career...

       (ala Images & Words tour - Limelight NYC March 1993,
       The Marquee London April 1993, Sun Plaza Tokyo August
       1993/ Awake tour - Ronnie Scotts Fan Club show London
       January 1995/ Falling Into Infinity tour - Rotterdam
       Fan Club show/ Le Bataclan Paris July 1998)

       The plans for the performance are this:
       "An Evening With Dream Theater"
       August 30th 2000 - Roseland Ballroom, New York City
       No opening act - 2 sets with an intermission.
       SFAM performed in its entirety for one of the very
       last times. The show will be recorded for a *possible*
       Live DVD/Video/CD."

   Venue change for Dream Theater concert on October 17th (UK)
   (Tour)

     Dream Theater's concert on October 17th, in Leeds, UK, has
     been moved from the Town And Country club to the Sheffield
     Octagon in Sheffield, UK. The reason for this venue change
     is that the Town And Country club has been closed down for
     good. Apparently, refunds are being given for the Town And
     Country club tickets and tickets are already available for
     the Sheffield Octagon venue. Sheffield is located 30 miles
     South of Leeds.

   Watchtower opens for Dream Theater in Texas
   (Tour)

     Progressive metal pioneers Watchtower (who are reunited
     after a ten year hiatus) will be the opening act at the
     two Dream Theater concerts in Texas.

   US Tour: Will "Metropolis pt. 2" be played in its entirety?
   (Tour)

     Dream Theater will be playing "Metropolis pt. 2" in its
     entirety at the "House Of Blues" show in Hollywood, CA,
     on August 20th, to make up for any fans that missed the
     opportunity to see it due to the situation at the first
     night at The Palace in January.

     The album will only be played in its entirety at *very*
     select cities in August (the places where Dream Theater
     didn't play during the last US tour).


   Concert in Hampton Bays, NY, on August 31st cancelled
   (Tour)

     The show on Thursday, August 31st, in Hampton Bays, NY,
     has unfortunately been cancelled.
