HI all, I've noticed that the Praetorius(1619) and Mersenne(1636) plates of shawms show tenors with 2 keys in the front, and two in the back, and my assumption...
Doug The tenors with the extra keys do go down to G--they're called extended tenors. According to Herb Myers, they were probably more common than the tenors...
