I was in the car today (thank god for traffic!) and heard a great
interview/live performance by Duncan and the band on Phantom Moon on
World Cafe' today. He talked about (among other things) how he got
together with Steven Sater, how he went to Nonesuch Records, what it
was like to not write his own words for his music, his admiration for
Nick Drake, and his departure on this record from the poppy stuff
he's known for. The good news is that he mentioned getting back to
his own writing FOR THE FOURTH ALBUM. So, there is one in the
works. Yay! World Cafe' is produced at a radio station at the
University of Pennsylvania where I live but it is broadcast in other
places so if you can get ahold of listings for public radio near you
or know of a station that plays it you might be able to catch it.
