Hi list pals,

My name's James Paterson and I'm a postgraduate student at the University of
Sydney in Australia as well as a guitarist/songwriter. I discovered D.S.
entirely by accident. CD prices are very high here, and I can't afford to
experiment with new artists often or at all. Recently, however, these
discount shops in the CBD have been importing cassettes from Indonesia which
they've been selling for around $5. I thought that at prices like that I
could afford to take a punt on something unknown, and basically I picked out
"Humming" because the cover was very artistic and Duncan looked very
handsome. It was a clear contrast with the rest of the stuff they had, e.g.,
Boyzone and BeWitch*d. Anyway, I quickly fell in love with "Humming" and
bought his debut album soon afterwards. Although I continue to play them
regularly, I'm eagerly looking forward to his next one. Two is just not
enough! My favourite tracks by D. S. are "Bite Your Tongue" and "That Says
It All."

In the meantime, I'd be very interested in finding out what other artists
people on this list like. Apart from D.S. I like Tori Amos, Neil Finn and
Sarah Maclachlan.
