Hi everybody! I've been on this list for a while and am excited to find out
that there are others on it as well=) My name is Sheridan, and I'm a junior &
a public relations major at the University of Georgia. I first came across
Duncan around Christmas 1996. I had a gift certificate to Best Buy and there
really weren't too many CDs I wanted to buy. I saw Duncan's CD and remembered
reading a really favorable review in Rolling Stone. So I thought why not and
bought it. I instantly fell in love with the CD and played it excessively for
what seemed like forever (my fave songs are In the Absence of Sun & Out of
Order) . Then when Humming came out, I put it in the CD player in my car the
minute I got it and I don't think it left the car for months cos my car is
the one place I actually have time to listen to music. Everytime I got in the
car, I listened to the CD. Although his first album is my favorite, the more
I listened to Humming the more I liked it. I'm also a huge fan of the late
Jeff Buckley so of course I loved Duncan's tribute song to him. However,
nothing could compare to seeing Duncan live. I saw him in April 1997 at the
Cotton Club in Atlanta. It was such a good show. Then after the concert I
hung around and actually got to meet the man himself. Duncan was the absolute
sweetest person I've ever met. He was just so nice and friendly when I talked
to him. He autographed my T-shirt and I had a short conversation with him. I
can't wait until he goes on tour again. Anyway I guess that's all for now.
Sheridan=)
PS In reference to the other music question. . . I like Oasis, Better Than
Ezra, Chris Isaak, and Peter Gabriel
