Ok first of all I saw Duncan in concert April 27, 1997 at the Cotton Club in
Atlanta. So this was over 2 1/2 years ago so if I'm alittle rusty on the
details forgive me. Jill Sobule opened for him, and she was fabulous. Then
Duncan came on. At this point only his first album had come out so the
material was pretty much all off of it. It's hard for me to describe the
sound since it was awhile ago, but I remember his voice being very much in
sync with the way he sounds on his album. Everything was of course kinda
stripped down since there weren't any string instruments like on the album
since it was a small club show. Duncan also jumped from instrument to
instrument. He played several different types of guitars, piano, and I think
he may have even gotten on the drums for a song. I think it was Reason for
Living that was just him singing and playing piano. Then for his encore, he
played Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees" which was awesome cos I love
Radiohead. Well that's about all I can remember about the show. The show was
absolutely fabulous, and can't really think of a better way to describe it
than that. I'm eagerly awaiting the next tour so I can see him again and
hear him perform some of the new songs as well.
