Hi Stephanie,
There haven't been many posts lately, seemingly because Duncan himself has
been very quiet. It's always my habit to become besotted with artists who
condescend to make an album every couple of years or so .... and he doesn't
even seem to tour much.
The only thing I wish to share with this list at the moment is that I went
through some of the acts on mp3.com who claimed to sound like Duncan Sheik.
The only one who struck me as at all similar was a guy from Florida called
Tony Rooney. His voice is actually somewhat similar, and some of his
phrasing and even guitar playing seems to have been borrowed from DS. You
might want to check him out. However, he's much more country flavoured and
less avant-garde than our hero.
Anyway, I shall keep searching for other similar artists as a means of
passing time until the next DS album arrives. Any discoveries will be
promptly shared with this list, of course!
