Duncan is interviewed in the Sunday USA Today Weekend insert that appears in
many local papers across the country. I read it from the insert in the Boston
Globe today. (Page 12 of the USA Today Insert in the Boston Globe, or your local
newspaper that carries the USA Today Weekend)

The article reveals that "While at Brown University, Sheik and classmate Tracee
Ellis Ross-Diana Ross' daughter-recorded a track together in the summer of '92.
Tracee gave the track to her mom's entertainment lawyer. Six months later, Sheik
had a record deal. Then his catchy song "Barely Breathing" made him a pop star."

The article goes on at length to discuss the new album, the reception it is
getting, and Duncan as a praticing Buddhist.

Tracee Ellis Ross (by the way) had a show on Lifetime that aired Friday nights
and she had Duncan on one. Does anyone remember it? I wonder if it will return
to the airwaves..

Duncan will be appearing on the Donny and Marie Show tomorrow, Feb. 2.
Check out www.donnyandmarie.com for what time and channel it will be on
in your area.

He's also in February's issue of GQ wearing a suit!  I'm going to pick
it up and scan that soon to put on my website.  He's also in February's
issue of Musician, with George Martin on the cover.  He's also in the
no.29 issue of Guitar World Acoustic, with the lead singer from the Goo
Goo Dolls on the cover.  I've scanned pictures from these two
publications and will put them up on my site asap.

He'll be playing in Manhattan on the 9th; if you live around there,
check out www.duncansheik.com for info.  No other tourdates are
scheduled.  DOH!

He just finished a video for "That Says It All"!  Hooray!  Gotta record
that after Bite Your Tongue.  Maybe he'll release some kind of video to
buy.  Let's keep hoping!

You probably did not see it, unless you live in the northern-tier of
the U.S., but Duncan appeared on the Canadian Broadcasting Company's
syndicated talk show(like Oprah/Rosie) "dini" the 14th, Monday of
December. He sang "Bite Your Tongue", and answered a question from Dini
about the meaning of the song "Nietchiren" (not sure of its spelling),
and its relevance to his

In Sunday 12/6 New York Post, Duncan is interviewed as is Mariah, Marilyn, and
several others about the angry side of stardom. He says he would yell at people
if 20 other things needed to get done that were expected that only one person
could not do in enough time,a nd apologizes for his behavior saying that "this
sort of thing is what fans have come to expect of stars, and he tries to aviod

Hey Guys!

I have so much to tell you.

First of all, I'm going to see Duncan next week (the second time in less
than a month) and I am psyched.  The venue holds only 300 people, so
it'll be a nice intimate concert.

Make sure to pick up the December issue of "In Style" magazine with
Julia Roberts on the cover.  On page 308 is a great article with some
great pictures of him and his apartment in New York.

Tell me about your concert experiences!  Hopefully I'll be able to meet
him and get an autograph.  This weekend I'll be scanning a bunch of new

Bummer.  :(  But for me, it's making up for the fact that he was here in
October for "Bite of Las Vegas", and I was out of town and had to miss it, so
I get to go tomorrow instead.  However, when I did miss that, my cousin went
and was nice enough to get me his autograph. :)

Have fun at the concert, Piper.  I saw just this past Friday and it was
standing room only up front.  I couldn't have been more than 8 feet away
from him.  It was great.  Except there were these 3 really talls guys
standing in front of us, and this girl beside me was dancing like a
freak and pushing me.  But that's okay!  I was still able to get a good
look at him!  And we saw him outside before the concert started, and he
was RIGHT THERE.  I shoulda ran outta line and grabbed him.  Darn.  But
he flashed a huge smile at us and we all screamed like a bunch of Hanson
fans.  It was great.  Why doesn't he smile more in his pictures?  Hmmm
oh well.  Later!!

Does anyone know the title of the song that appears after NICHIREN?  I didn't
know it was there the first couple of times I listened to the CD.

YES!

I got the album the first day it came out and it is EXCELLENT.  Go out
and get it.  I also got the bonus EP "Humming Along".  It's great too.
There are four covers on it.  Go get it already!

I just saw him in concert last Friday and that was phenomenal.  No words
to describe it.

Did anyone see Duncan Sheik on Rosie O'Donnell
the other day? He sang "Bite your Tongue" with the Video screens around him. The
video and album are fabulous. I ran out Oct 6 to buy the album upon its release.
My favorites from the "Humming" album are "Bite Your Tongue", "Alibi" "Varying
Degrees of Con-Artistry", and finally "In Between"

I heard part of it on Beverly Hills, 90210.  Believe it or not, I subjected
