Attention parents -
Concession stand sales are our largest source of income for the marching band program. Each year our gross concession stand income varies between $15,000 and $20,000. The money earned from the stand helps to fund props, equipment, vehicles, instruments, music, flags, uniforms, insurance and many other necessary costs. Help is needed during every stadium event. This week the stand was open twice and only one parent was there each time to cook and serve. We can't operate a concession stand this way – we need more help! If we cannot operate a well organized concession stand, we risk another booster organization stepping in and requesting to take it over. Let's not let it get to that point. We all have time constraints with kids in sports and activities, jobs, house work, yard work, family time and that much needed time to unwind. Yet if one person from each family committed to working in the concession stand twice during the spring season, we'd have the assurance of the stand remaining in the band program's possession, and we would have profits that can be used toward band expenses rather than all of us having to pay for our students to be part of the program.
